In situ polymerization of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)protective layer towards stable zinc anode

Aqueous zinc-ion devices are considered promising candidates for energy storage due to their high safety,low cost and relatively high energy ***,the dendrite growth,hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and corrosion of the zinc anode significantly limit the development of Zn-ion ***,an inexpensive poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT)protective layer was constructed in situ on the Zn surface using electropolymerization to suppress dendrite growth and side reactions,thereby enhancing the reversibility of *** and theoretical calculations revealed that this hydrophilic protective layer promotes the desolvation process of hydrated Zn^(2+)and facilitates the transport of zinc ions,thus improving the thermodynamic and kinetic properties of Zn^(2+)deposition and inhibiting interfacial side ***,the optimized PEDOT@Zn symmetric battery exhibited a cycling stability exceeding 1250 h at 0.5 mA·cm^(-2)and 0.25 mAh·cm^(-2),with a significantly reduced overpotential(from 91.8 to 35 mV).With the assistance of the PEDOT protective layer,the PEDOT@Zn//Cu battery maintained approximately 99.5%Coulombic efficiency after 450 ***-situ scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and in situ optical microscopy characterizations further confirmed that the PEDOT protective layer can effectively suppress the growth of zinc ***,the Zn-ion capacitors assembled by the PEDOT@Zn and activated carbon also demonstrated outstanding cycling stability.

In this article,we review the study by Jin et al,which examined the role of intestinal glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1)in counterregulatory responses to hypoglycemia in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM).With the global rise of T1DM,there is an increased burden on society and healthcare *** to insulin therapy and islet dysfunction,T1DM patients are highly vulnerable to severe hypoglycemia,a leading cause of *** healthy individuals,counterregulatory mechanisms restore blood glucose during hypoglycemia,but repeated episodes impair these *** et al demonstrated that overexpression of GLP-1 attenuates the sympathetic-adrenal reflex and disrupts the secretion of counterregulatory hormones such as glucagon during hypoglycemia,leading to counterregulatory *** findings highlight the critical role of GLP-1 in the impaired counterregulatory response to hypoglycemia in T1DM patients and provide new insights into the potential application of GLP-1-related therapies in T1DM patients.

Multi-powder dam concrete with high performance and low adiabatic temperature rise

Based on the fluidity, strength, heat of hydration and loop crack resistance experiment of multi-powder paste, the components and proportion of multi-powder were optimized and the concrete properties were studied. The multi-powder consists of limestone powder, slag, fly ash and moderate heat Portland cement (PMH cement). The results show that the compressive strength of the multi-powder paste and mortar is close to those of PMH cement, fly ash paste and mortar currently used in dam concrete, yet the flexural strength is relatively higher. The multi-powder paste is featured by larger fluidity, lower heat of hydration and delayed cracking time. In comparison, less unit water consumption and cement is used in multi-powder concrete, and under premise of equal mechanical performance, deformation, thermal performance and durability, the adiabatic temperature rise at 28 d is reduced by 2 ℃. In this way, the crack resistance is improved and it is feasible both technically and economically to produce HPC for dam concrete.

Optimization design of foundation excavation for Xiluodu super-high arch dam in china

With better understanding of the quality and physico-mechanical properties of rocks of dam foundation,and the physico-mechanical properties and structure design of arch dam in association with the foundation excavation of Xiluodu arch dam,the excavation optimization design was proposed for the foundation surface on the basis of feasibility *** analysis and numerical analysis results demonstrated the feasibility of using the weakly weathered rocks III1and III2as the foundation surface of super-high arch *** view of changes in the geological conditions at the dam foundation along the riverbed direction,the design of extending foundation surface excavation area and using consolidating grouting and optimizing structure of dam bottom was introduced,allowing for harmonization of the arch dam and ***-dimensional(3D)geomechanics model test and fi nite element analysis results indicated that the dam body and foundation have good overload stability and high bearing *** monitoring data showed that the behaviors of dam and foundation correspond with the designed patterns in the construction period and the initial operation period.

Monitoring result analyses of high slope of five-step ship lock in the three gorges Project

The construction of the double-lane five-step ship lock of the three gorges Project （TGP） wascommenced in 1994, the excavation of the ship lock was completed by the end of 1999, and the ship lockwas put in operation in June 2003. The side slopes of the ship lock are characterized by great height（170 m）, steepness （70 m in height of upright slope）, and great length （over 7000 m in total length）. Inassociation with the ship lock, the surrounding rocks in slope have a high potential to deform, withwhich the magnitude of deformation is restricted. Monitoring results show that the deformation of thefive-step ship lock high slopes of the TGP primarily occurred in excavation period, and deformationtended to be stable and convergent during operation period, suggesting the allowable ranges of *** present, the slopes and lock chambers are stable, and the ship lock works well under normaloperation condition, enabling the social and economic benefits of the TGP. 2015 Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Numerical simulation of two droplets impacting upon a dynamic liquid film

The impact of droplets on the liquid film is widely involved in industrial and agricultural *** recent years,plenty of works are limited to dry walls or stationary liquid films,and the research of multi-droplet impact dynamic films is not *** on this,this paper employs a coupled level set and volume of fluid(CLSVOF) method to numerically simulate two-droplet impingement on a dynamic liquid *** our work,the dynamic film thickness,horizontal central distance between the droplets,droplets’ initial impact speed,and simultaneously the flow velocity of the moving film are *** evolution phenomenon and mechanism caused by the collision are analyzed in *** find that within a certain period of time,the droplet spacing does not affect the peripheral crown height;when the droplet spacing decreases or the initial impact velocity increases,the height of the peripheral crown increases at the beginning,and then,because the crown splashed under Rayleigh-Plateau instability,this results in the reduction of the crown *** the same time,it is found that when the initial impact velocity increases,the angle between the upstream peripheral jet and the dynamic film becomes *** more obvious the horizontal movement characteristics,the more restrained the crown height;the spread length increases with the increase of the dynamic film speed,droplet spacing and the initial impact *** the liquid film is thicker,more fluid enters the crown,due to the crown being unstable,the surface tension is not enough to overcome the weight of the rim at the end of the crown,resulting in droplets falling off.

Plasmonic tandem heterojunctions enable high-efficiency charge transfer for broad spectrum photocatalytic hydrogen production

Rational engineering of semiconductor photocatalysts for efficient hydrogen production is of great significance but still challenging,primarily due to the limitations in charge transfer ***,a fascinating plasmonic tandem heterojunction with the hc-CdS/Mo2C@C heterostructure is aimfully prepared for effectively promoting the charge separation kinetics of the CdS photocatalyst via the synergistic strategy of phase junction,Schottky junction,and photothermal *** difference in atomic configuration between cubic-CdS （c-CdS） and hexagonal-CdS （h-CdS） leads to effective charge separation through a typical Ⅱ charge transfer mechanism,and plasmonic Schottky junction further extracts the electrons in the hc-CdS phase junction to realize gradient charge ***,the photothermal effect of Mo2C@C helps to expand the light absorption,accelerate charge transfer kinetics,and reduce the hydrogen evolution energy *** carbon layer provides a fast channel for charge transfer and protects the photocatalyst from *** a result,the optimized hc-CMC photocatalyst exhibits a significantly high photocatalytic H2production activity of 28.63 mmol/g/h and apparent quantum efficiency of 61.8%,surpassing most of the reported *** study provides a feasible strategy to enhance the charge transfer kinetics and photocatalytic activity of CdS by constructing plasmonic tandem heterogeneous junctions.

Fault detection and diagnosis(FDD)plays a significant role in ensuring the safety and stability of chemical *** the development of artificial intelligence(AI)and big data technologies,data-driven approaches with excellent performance are widely used for FDD in chemical ***,improved predictive accuracy has often been achieved through increased model complexity,which turns models into black-box methods and causes uncertainty regarding their *** this study,a causal temporal graph attention network(CTGAN)is proposed for fault diagnosis of chemical processes.A chemical causal graph is built by causal inference to represent the propagation path of *** attention mechanism and chemical causal graph were combined to help us notice the key variables relating to fault *** in the Tennessee Eastman(TE)process and the green ammonia(GA)process showed that CTGAN achieved high performance and good explainability.

Thermodynamics around magnetic phase transitions in alternating double-chain spin systems

The thermodynamics and quantum phase transitions of two typically alternating double-chain systems are investigated by Green＇s function theory.（i） For the completely antiferromagnetic（AFM） alternating double-chain, the low-temperature antiferromagnetism with gapped behavior is observed, which is in accordance with the experimental result. In a magnetic field, we unveil the ground state phase diagram with zero plateau, 1/2 plateau, and polarized ferromagnetic（FM） phases,as a result of the intra-cluster spin-singlet competition. Furthermore, the Gr ¨uneisen ratio is an excellent tool to identify the quantum criticality and testify various quantum phases.（ii） For the antiferromagnetically coupled FM alternating chains,the 1/2 magnetization plateau and double-peak structure of specific heat appear, which are also observed ***, the M–h curve shows an anomalous behavior in an ultra-low field, which is ascribed to the effectively weak Haldane-like state, demonstrated by the two-site entanglement entropy explicitly.
