Copper isotope constraints on the origins of basaltic and andesitic magmas in the Tengchong volcanic field,SE Tibet

The Tengchong volcano field(TVF),situated at the southeastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau,holds crucial information regarding Cenozoic volcanic activities and geotectonic evolution of the SE *** provide new constraints on petrogenesis and evolution of the Tengchong volcanism,here we conducted copper(Cu)elemental and isotopic analyses on a suite of samples that document the evolution from basalts to andesites in the *** basalts are Cu-depleted(29.7-36.9 ppm)and have higherδ65Cu val-ues(0.19‰-0.40‰,mean=0.31‰±0.05‰;n=11)than those of mid-ocean ridge basalts(MOrBs,~0.09‰)and the mantle(~0.06‰)as well as the majority of island arc *** with the low Cu/Zr ratios,these characteristics are interpreted to reflect the fractionation of isotopically light sulfides in the S-saturated systems during magma ascent,rather than source heterogeneity induced by recycled materials and redox *** with the basalts,the andesites have slightly lower Cu contents(14.4-29.4 ppm)and lighter Cu isotopic compositions(mean=-0.14‰±0.06‰;n=13).These differences cannot be attributed to progressive sulfide fractionation of basaltic magmas but require the assimilation of lower crustal materials with lowδ65Cu values during evolution of the andesitic *** results collectively suggest that Cu isotopes can provide valuable insights into magma origin and evolution.

In studies on gas hydrate,bottom-simulating reflectors(BSr)are used to determine the potential hydrate-bearing sedimentary ***,BSr detection is performed manually by experienced ***,a method for implementing an auto-matic BSr detection process should be *** this study,we develop a novel architecture for BSr characterization using the convolutional neural network(CNN)*** propose the use of Stokes’transform(ST)to obtain a time-frequency spectrum for the input of *** fully uses the frequency content of the seismic data,and a part of the 3d seismic data collected from the Blake ridge is utilized to train the *** seismic records with variable signal-to-noise ratios(SNr),as well as Blake ridge seismic data,were used to validate the detection effect of the *** show that the CNN trained by this method exhibits excellent performance in noise-resistant testing and achieves an accuracy of more than 89% in field seismic data detection.

The chirp sub-bottom profiler,for its high resolution,easy accessibility and cost-effectiveness,has been widely used in acoustic *** this paper,the acoustic impedance and grain size compositions were obtained based on the chirp sub-bottom profiler data collected in the Chukchi Plateau area during the 11th Arctic Expedition of *** time-domain adaptive search matching algorithm was used and validated on our established theoretical *** misfit between the inversion result and the theoretical model is less than 0.067%.The grain size was calculated according to the empirical relationship between the acoustic impedance and the grain size of the *** average acoustic impedance of sub-seafloor strata is 2.5026×10^(6) kg(s m^(2))^(-1)and the average grain size(θvalue)of the seafloor surface sediment is 7.1498,indicating the predominant occurrence of very fine silt sediment in the study *** of the inversion results and the laboratory measurements of nearby borehole samples shows that they are in general agreement.

Studying the Arctic sea ice contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the climate system in polar regions and offers valuable insights into the interplay between polar climate change and the global climate and *** of the key research aspects is the investigation of the temperature,salinity,and density parameters of sea ice to obtain essential *** the 11th Chinese National Arctic research Expedition,acoustic velocity was measured on an ice core at a short-term ice station,however,temperature,salinity,and density were not *** the present work,we utilized a genetic algorithm to invert these obtained acoustic velocity data to sea ice temperature,salinity,and density parameters on the basis of the relationship between acoustic velocity and the physical properties of Arctic summer sea *** validated the effectiveness of this inversion procedure by comparing its findings with those of other *** results indicate that within the normalized depth range of 0.43-0.94,the ranges for temperature,salinity,and density are -0.48--0.29℃,1.63-3.35,and 793.1-904.1 kg m^(-3),respectively.

This study aims to investigate characteristics of continental shelf wave(CSW)on the northwestern continental shelf of the South china Sea(SCS)induced by winter storms in *** and cruise observations,tidal gauge data at stations Hong Kong,Zhapo and Qinglan and sea surface wind data from January 1 to February 28,2021 are used to examine the relationship between along-shelf wind and sea level *** events of CSWs driven by the along-shelf sea surface wind are detected from wavelet spectra of tidal gauge *** signals are triply peaked at periods of 56 h,94 h and 180 h,propagating along the coast with phase speed ranging from 6.9 m/s to18.9 m/*** dispersion relation shows their property of the Kelvin mode of *** develop a simple method to estimate amplitude of sea surface fluctuation by along-shelf *** results are comparable with the observation data,suggesting it is *** mode 2 CSWs fits very well with the mooring current velocity *** results from rare current help to understand wave-current interaction in the northwestern SCS.

Spontaneous imbibition(SI)is an important mechanism for enhancing oil recovery in low-permeability *** to the strong heterogeneity,and the non-darcy flow,the construction of SI model for lowpermeability reservoirs is extremely ***,traditional SI models based on single or averaged capillary tortuosity ignore the influence of heterogeneity of pore seepage channels and the threshold pressure(TP)on ***,in this work,based on capillary model and fractal theory,a mathematical model of characterizing SI considering heterogeneity of pore seepage channels is *** this basis,the threshold pressure was introduced to determine the pore radius at which the wetted phase can displace *** proposed new SI model was verified by imbibition experimental *** study shows that for weakly heterogeneous cores with permeability of 0-1 m d,the traditional SI model can characterize the imbibition process relatively accurately,and the new imbibition model can increase the coefficient of determination by 1.05 ***,traditional model has serious deviations in predicting the imbibition recovery for cores with permeability of 10-50 m *** new SI model coupling with heterogeneity of pore seepage channels and threshold pressure effectively solves this problem,and the determination coefficient is increased from 0.344 to 0.922,which is increased by2.68 *** low-permeability reservoirs,the production of the oil in transitional pores(0.01-0.1μm)and mesopores(0.1-1μm)significantly affects the imbibition recovery,as the research shows that when the heterogeneity of pore seepage channels is ignored,the oil recovery in transitional pores and mesopores decreases by 7.54%and 4.26%,*** analysis shows that increasing interfacial tension,decreasing contact angle,oil-water viscosity ratio and threshold pressure will increase imbibition *** addition,there are critical values for the influence of these factors o

The paper develops a multiple matching attenuation method based on extended filtering in the curvelet domain,which combines the traditional Wiener filtering method with the matching attenuation method in curvelet ***,the method uses the predicted multiple data to generate the Hilbert transform records,time derivative records and time derivative records of Hilbert ***,the above records are transformed into the curvelet domain and multiple matching attenuation based on least squares extended filtering is ***,the attenuation results are transformed back into the time-space *** on the model data and field data show that the method proposed in the paper effectively suppress the multiples while preserving the primaries ***,it has higher accuracy in eliminating multiple reflections,which is more suitable for the multiple attenuation tasks in the areas with complex structures compared to the time-space domain extended filtering method and the conventional curvelet transform method.

Explosive cyclones(ECs)occur frequently over the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension *** most rapidly intensified EC over the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension region during the 42 years(1979-2020)of cold seasons(October-April)was studied to reveal the variations of the key factors at different explosive-developing *** EC had weak low-level baroclinicity,mid-level cyclonic-vorticity advection,and strong low-level water vapor convergence at the initial explosive-developing *** low-level baroclinicity and mid-level cyclonic-vorticity advection increased substantially during the maximum-deepening-rate *** diagnostic analyses using the Zwack-Okossi equation showed that diabatic heating was the main contributor to the initial rapid intensification of this *** cyclonic-vorticity advection and warm-air advection enhanced rapidly in the middle and upper troposphere and contributed to the maximum rapid intensification,whereas the diabatic heating weakened slightly in the mid-low *** relative contribution of the diabatic heating decreased from the initial explosive-developing stage to the maximum-deepening-rate stage due to the enhancement of other factors(the cyclonic-vorticity advection and warm-air advection).Furthermore,the physical factors contributing to this EC varied with the explosive-developing *** non-key factors at the initial explosive-developing stage need attention to forecast the rapid intensification.
