Lost circulation, a recurring peril during drilling operations, entails substantial loss of drilling fluid and dire consequences upon its infiltration into the formation. As drilling depth escalates, the formation temperature and pressure intensify, imposing exacting demands on plug materials. In this study, a kind of controllable curing resin with dense cross-network structure was prepared by the method of solution stepwise ring-opening polymerization. The resin plugging material investigated in this study is a continuous phase material that offers effortless injection, robust filling capabilities, exceptional retention, and underground curing or crosslinking with high strength. Its versatility is not constrained by fracture-cavity lose channels, making it suitable for fulfilling the essential needs of various fracture-cavity combinations when plugging fracture-cavity carbonate rocks. Notably, the curing duration can be fine-tuned within the span of 3-7 h, catering to the plugging of drilling fluid losing of diverse fracture dimensions. Experimental scrutiny encompassed the rheological properties and curing behavior of the resin plugging system, unraveling the intricacies of the curing process and establishing a cogent kinetic model. The experimental results show that the urea-formaldehyde resin plugging material has a tight chain or network structure. When the concentration of the urea-formaldehyde resin plugging system solution remains below 30%, the viscosity clocks in at a meager 10 mPa·s. Optimum curing transpires at 60℃, showcasing impressive resilience to saline conditions. Remarkably, when immersed in a composite saltwater environment containing 50000 mg/L NaCl and 100000 mg/L CaCl2, the urea-formaldehyde resin consolidates into an even more compact network structure, culminating in an outstanding compressive strength of 41.5 MPa. In this study,to address the low efficiency for conventional ultrasonic-assisted drlling(UAD)of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic and titanium alloy(CFRP/Ti)stacks,feasibility experiments of non-separation UAD,in which continuous cutting between the tool and the workpiece occurs at a high feed rate,are carried *** experimental results indicate that,compared to conventional separation UAD,the non-separation UAD effectively reduces the cutting forces by 24.2%and 1.9%for CFRP stage and 22.1%and 2.6%for the Ti stage at the feed rates of 50 and 70μm/r,***,the non-separation UAD significantly improves hole quality,including higher hole diameter accuracy,lower hole surface roughness,and less hole *** addition,the non-separation UAD can decrease adhesive tool *** study demonstrates that,compared to conventional drilling(CD),the non-separation UAD can effectively improve drilling quality and tool life while maintaining high efficiency.

Theoretical Analysis of Coral Reef Stability in South Sea

In this paper,we utilize the variational limiting equilibrium(LE) procedure to theoretically determine the slope stability of homogeneous coral sand in the South china *** establishing a reasonable functional and calculating its extremum,we can deduce the stability factor of a coral reef identical to that obtained by upper bound *** determine the accuracy of the results obtained using the variational LE procedure,we present some classical examples of homogeneous sand slopes without a hard shell and compare our results with those obtained by the upper bound theorem of plasticity.A series of extensive calculations and comparisons reveal that the results obtained by our proposed analysis method and those obtained using classical methods are slightly different,but the variational results are *** the other hand,our method solves some stability factors for reef slopes covered with a hard shell,which indicates that the existence of a hard reef shell may significantly enhance the stability of a reef slope,and that there is strong nonlinear relationship between reef stability and the mechanical characteristics of the reef shell,such as its thickness and ***,based on the variational results presented in this paper,we present a useful chart that offers a convenient and straightforward way to determine the maximum stability factor of reef *** into account the influence of the hard reef shell,we found that,in some limit equilibrium cases,the limit stability factor and critical height of a coral slope could be improved ***,this issue deserves careful attention in engineering practice.

The utilization of traffic information received from intelligent vehicle highway systems(IVHS) to plan velocity and split output power for multi-source vehicles is currently a research hotspot. However, it is an open issue to plan vehicle velocity and distribute output power between different supply units simultaneously due to the strongly coupling characteristic of the velocity planning and the power distribution. To address this issue, a flexible predictive power-split control strategy based on IVHS is proposed for electric vehicles(EVs) equipped with battery-supercapacitor system(BSS). Unlike hierarchical strategies to plan vehicle velocity and distribute output power separately, a monolayer model predictive control(MPC) method is employed to optimize them online at the same time. Firstly, a flexible velocity planning strategy is designed based on the signal phase and time(SPAT) information received from IVHS and then the Pontryagin’s minimum principle(PMP) is adopted to formulate the optimal control problem of the BSS. Then, the flexible velocity planning strategy and the optimal control problem of BSS are embedded into an MPC framework, which is online solved using the shooting method in a fashion of receding horizon. Simulation results verify that the proposed strategy achieves a superior performance compared with the hierarchical strategy in terms of transportation efficiency, battery capacity loss, energy consumption and computation time.

Earthquake investigations have shown that near-fault pulse-like(NF-P)ground motions have unique characteristics compared to near-fault non-pulse-like(NF-NP)and far-field(FF)ground *** is necessary to study the seismic response of pile-supported wharf(PSW)structures under NF-P ground *** this study,a three-dimensional finite element numerical model is created to simulate a *** imparting three types of ground motion,the engineering demand parameters(EDPs)of PSW under NF-P ground motions were analyzed and compared,in which EDPs are the maximum displacement and bending moment of the *** intensity measures(IMs)were selected to characterize the properties of ground *** correlation between IMs and EDPs was *** results show that the piles present larger displacement and bending moment under NF-P ground motions compared to NF-NP and FF ground *** of the IMs have a high correlation with EDPs under NF-P ground motions,and these IMs are more applicable to FF ground *** correlation coefficients between EDPs and IMs under three types of ground motion were obtained,which will provide a valuable reference for the seismic design of PSWs.

Considering the increasing environmental pressure,environmentally friendly and high-performance water-based drilling fluids(WBDFs)have been widely studied in recent years to replace the commonly used oil-based drilling fluids(OBDFs).However,few of these drilling fluids are entirely composed of natural materials,which makes it difficult to achieve real environmental *** laponite nanoparticles and various derivatives of natu ral mate rials,including cro sslinked starch,cellulose composite,gelatin ammonium salt,poly-l-arginine,and polyanionic cellulose,a kind of environmentally friendly water-based drilling fluid(EF-WBDF)was built for drilling in environment-sensitive *** properties of this EF-WBDF were evaluated by thermal stability tests on rheology,filtration,inhibition,and salt ***,biological toxicity,biodegradability,heavy mental content and wheat cultivation tests were conducted to investigate the environmental factor of *** showed that EF-WBDF displayed satisfactory thermal resistance up to 150℃,and the rheological properties did not suffer significant fluctuation,showing potential application in high-temperature *** optimal rheological model of EF-WBDF was Herschel-Bulkley *** EF-WBDF performed an eligible filtration of 14.2 mL at 150℃and a differential pressure of 3.5 *** fluid could still maintain colloidal stability after being contaminated by 7.5%NaCl or 0.5%CaC1_(2).Meanwhile,rather low clay swelling degree of 2.44 mm and high shale recovery of more than 95%ensured the inhibitive capability of ***,EF-WBDF presented a half maximal effective concentration(EC_(50))of51200 mg/L and a BOD/COD ratio of 47.55%,suggesting that EF-WBDF was non-toxic and easily *** wheat cultivated in EF-WBDF could grow healthily,beneficial for reducing the adverse impact on ecological *** formed EF-WBDF has a promising future for drilling in environment-sensitive and high-te

In the present work, the effect of oxides on the alkylation of benzene with 1-dodecene was comprehensively investigated over MCM-49 n-heptanol, n-heptaldehyde and n-heptanoic acid were selected as the model oxides herein, and obvious decrease of lifetime could be caused by only trace amount of oxides added in the feedstocks. However, the deactivated catalysts were difficult to be regenerated by extraction with hot benzene. Additionally, coke-burning was also proved to be incapable to regenerate the deactivated catalysts mainly for the dealumination during calcination. Further characterizations complementary with DFT calculations were conducted to demonstrate that the deactivation was mainly due to the firm adsorption of oxides on the acid sites.
