SensFL:Privacy-Preserving Vertical Federated Learning with Sensitive Regularization

In the realm of Intelligent Railway Transportation Systems,effective multi-party co.laboration is crucial due to co.cerns over privacy and data *** Federated Learning(VFL)has emerged as a promising approach to facilitate such co.laboration,allowing diverse entities to co.lectively enhance machine learning models without the need to share sensitive training ***,existing works have highlighted VFL’s susceptibility to privacy inference attacks,where an honest but curious server co.ld potentially reco.struct a client’s raw data from embeddings uploaded by the *** vulnerability poses a significant threat to VFL-based intelligent railway transportation *** this paper,we introduce SensFL,a novel privacy-enhancing method to against privacy inference attacks in ***,SensFL integrates regularization of the sensitivity of embeddings to the original data into the model training process,effectively limiting the information co.tained in shared *** reducing the sensitivity of embeddings to the original data,SensFL can effectively resist reverse privacy attacks and prevent the reco.struction of the original data from the *** experiments were co.ducted on four distinct datasets and three different models to demonstrate the efficacy of *** results show that SensFL can effectively mitigate privacy inference attacks while maintaining the accuracy of the primary learning *** results undersco.e SensFL’s potential to advance privacy protection technologies within VFL-based intelligent railway systems,addressing critical security co.cerns in co.laborative learning environments.

Safety study on HIC co.taining waste resin with respect to hydrogen release

To explore the behavior of radiolytically produced hydrogen release from the waste resin stored in a high integrated co.tainer(HIC), and the mechanism of hydrogen diffusion in a near-surface disposal facility, both experimental studies and numerical simulations were performed through an accelerated irradiation test and simulated disposal, respectively. Results indicated that,100 years after disposal, the highest hydrogen co.centration appeared in the cell where the HICs were placed. The volume fraction for different scenarios postulated in the numerical simulation was 2.64% for Scenario 1, 2.28% for Scenario 2, and 3.965% for Scenario 3, all of which are lower than the hydrogen explosion limit of 4.1%. The results indicated that the simulated HIC disposal scheme is safe.

Solidification Efficiency and Mechanism of co.ventional Curing Agents for Sewage Sludge Stabilization and Dewatering

One of the challenges faced by sewage sludge treatment and disposal is its higher water co.tent,and how to efficient dewater those hazardous materials properly is welco.e in practice. This study stabilized the sewage sludge via the using of co.ventional curing agents and calcined aluminum salts,and the co.responding dewatering mechanisms and structural changes of the stabilized sludge were further co.parable *** results showed that wollastonite and kaolin exhibit a relative higher dewatering efficiency as co.pared to other co.ventional curing agents; however the releasing rate of heavy metals of Cu,Cr,Ni for kaolin solidification and Zn,Pb for wollastonite solidification is higher than the sludge samples solidified by other curing agents. For co.parison,the sludge samples solidified by calcined aluminum salts (AS),calcium ash,Mg-based curing agent,tricalcium aluminate( C_3A) show a lower heavy metals leaching potential and unco.fined co.pressive strength. In addition,the eco.omic characteristics and local availability of AS,calcium ash,C_3A and CaO makes it have a broad prospect in extension and application. These findings are of great significance for stabilization and dewatering of sewage sludge.

N_2O deco.position over K/Na-promoted Mg/Zn–Ce–co.alt mixed oxides catalysts

Three groups of co.alt mixed oxide catalysts（Mg/Zn-co. Mg/Zn-Ce-C, K/Na-Mg/Zn-Ce-co.were prepared by sol-gel or impregnation methods. The synergistic effects of transition metal, rare earth metal and alkali metal on co.alt mixed catalysts for nitrous oxide（N2O）deco.posing to N2 and O2were investigated. The experimental results revealed that the catalytic activity for N2 O deco.position was promoted as co.＋was replaced partially by Zn2＋/Mg2＋, moreover, the characterization analysis by XRD and XPS showed that Zn2＋/Mg2＋replaced co.＋successfully into the spinel structure of co.O4 and promoted significantly the catalytic activity. Especially, the addition of CeO2 and K2O/Na2O decreased the binding energy and resulted in an increase in the density of the electron cloud around co.and an improvement of the catalytic activity. Of the investigated co.alt mixed catalysts, the best catalytic activity was shown by 2% K-Zn0.5-Ce0.05-co.catalyst.

Effective management of large basins necessitates pinpointing the spatial and temporal drivers of primary index exceedances and urban risk factors,offering crucial insights for basin ***,co.prehensive examinations of multiple pollutants within the Yangtze River Basin remain *** we introduce a pollution inventory for urban clusters surrounding the Yangtze River Basin,analyzing water quality data from 102 cities during *** assessed the exceedance rates for six pivotal indicators:dissolved oxygen(DO),ammonia nitrogen(NH_(3)-N),chemical oxygen demand(co.),biochemical oxygen demand(BOD),total phosphorus(TP),and the permanganate index(co._(Mn))for each *** random forest regression and SHapley Additive exPlanations(SHAP)analyses,we identified the spatiotemporal factors influencing these key *** results highlight agricultural activities as the primary co.tributors to the exceedance of all six indicators,thus pinpointing them as the leading pollution source in the ***,forest co.erage,livestock farming,chemical and pharmaceutical sectors,along with meteorological elements like precipitation and temperature,significantly impacted various indicators'***,we delineate five co.e urban risk co.ponents through principal co.ponent analysis,which are(1)anthropogenic and industrial activities,(2)agricultural practices and forest extent,(3)climatic variables,(4)livestock rearing,and(5)principal polluting *** cities were subsequently evaluated and categorized based on these risk co.ponents,inco.porating policy interventions and administrative performance within each *** co.prehensive analysis advocates for a customized strategy in addressing the discerned risk factors,especially for cities presenting elevated risk levels.

Effect of cathodic potential on stress co.rosion cracking behavior of 21Cr2NiMo steel in simulated seawater

This study aims at providing systematically insights to clarify the impact of cathodic polarization on the stress co.rosion cracking(SCC)behavior of 21 Cr2 NiMo ***-strain-rate tensile tests demonstrated that 21 Cr2 NiMo steel is highly sensitive to hydrogen embrittlement at strong cathodic *** lowest SCC susceptibility occurred at-775 mV ***,whereas the SCC susceptibility was remarkably higher at potentials below-950 mV *** electron microsco.y(SEM)and electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD)revealed that the cathodic potential decline caused a transition from transgranular to intergranular mode in the fracture *** intergranular mode transformed from bainite boundaries separation to prior austenitic grain boundaries separation under stronger cathodic ***,co.rosion pits promoted the nucleation of SCC *** co.clusion,with the decrease in the applied potential,the SCC mechanism transformed from the co.bination of hydrogen embrittlement and anodic dissolution to typical hydrogen embrittlement.

21Cr2NiMo steel is widely used to stabilize offshore oil platforms;however,it suffers from stress-co.rosion cracking(SCC).Herein,we studied the SCC behavior of 21Cr2NiMo steel in SO_(2)-polluted co.stal *** tests revealed that the addition of SO_(2) increased the co.rosion *** characterization showed that SO_(2) addition densified the co.rosion products and promoted ***,slow strain rate tests demonstrated a high susceptibility to SCC in high SO_(2) *** morphologies revealed that the stress-co.rosion cracks initiated at co.rosion pits and the crack propagation showed transgranular and intergranular cracking *** co.clusion,SCC is mix-co.trolled by anodic dissolution and hydrogen embrittlement mechanisms.

Effect of a biological activated carbon filter on particle co.nts

Due to the importance of biological safety in drinking water quality and the disadvantages which exist in traditional methods of detecting typical microorganisms such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia, it is necessary to develop an alternative. Particle co.nts is a qualitative measurement of the amount of dissolved solids in water. The removal rate of particle co.nts was previously used as an indicator of the effectiveness of a biological activated carbon (BAC) filter in removing Cryptosporidium and Giardia. The particle co.nts in a BAC filter effluent over one operational period and the effects of BAC filter co.struction and operational parameters were investigated with a 10 m3/h pilot plant. The results indicated that the maximum particle co.nt in backwash remnant water was as high as 1296 co.nt/ml and it needed about 1.5 h to reduce from the maximum to less than 50 co.nt/ml. During the standard filtration period, particle co.nts stay co.stant at less than 50 co.nt/ml for 5 d except when influ- enced by sand filter backwash remnant water. The removal rates of particle co.nts in the BAC filter are related to characteristics of the carbon. For example, a co.umned carbon and a sand bed removed 33.3% and 8.5% of particles, respectively, while the particle co.nts in effluent from a cracked BAC filter was higher than that of the influent. There is no significant difference among particle removal rates with different filtration rates. High post-ozone dosage (>2 mg/L) plays an important role in particle co.nt removal; when the dosage was 3 mg/L, the removal rates by carbon layers and sand beds decreased by 17.5% and increased by 9.5%, respectively, co.pared with a 2 mg/L dosage.
