sea surface temperature(SST)in the Yellow sea Warm Current(YSWC)pathway is sensitive to the East Asian Winter Monsoon(EAWM)and ***,the role of the YSWC in the evolution of regional SST remains ***,we present new U 37 k′based SST and grain size sequences spanning the last 6092 years in the sediment core Z1,which was retrieved from the central Yellow sea muddy ***,U 37 k′-SST gradually increased since 6.1 ka BP,with a series of centennial-scale fl *** variation was mainly caused by EAWM when YSWC was weak between 6.1 and~3.9 ka BP,as shown by the end-member content of grain ***,after YSWC was fully developed,i.e.,since~3.9 ka BP,it exerted critical eff ects on SST evolution in its *** 1010-and 538-year cycles of the SST sequence indicated a basic control of solar activity on the oceanic conditions in the Yellow *** is suggested that the variation of total solar irradiance was amplifi ed by thermohaline circulation and then transmitted to the Yellow sea through the ***,the tropical Pacifi c signal of El Niño was transmitted to the YSWC through the Kuroshio *** dual properties of warm water transported by YSWC to compensate the EAWM and driving by Kuroshio Current closely linked the variation of SST in the YSWC pathway to the Northern Hemisphere high latitude climate and the tropical Pacifi *** fi ndings highlight the signifi cance of YSWC on regional SST evolution and its teleconnection to high and low latitude forcing,which grains a better understanding of the long-term evolution of SST in the middle latitude Yellow sea.

Frequent heavy precipitation and severe flood disasters struck northern china in early autumn 2021,with seven provinces/municipalities surpassing their precipitation records since *** for such extreme events from the climate perspective are unclear because the variability of autumn precipitation in northern china is poorly *** study revealed that the event was directly caused by the extremely north-westward location of the western Pacific subtropical high(WPSH),which was jointly induced by several tropical and mid-latitude *** developing La Niña and warmer than normal tropical Atlantic sea surface temperature altered the Pacific Walker Circulation and enhanced the convection over the tropical western ***,the Madden-Julian Oscillation stagnated for a long time in its phases 3-5 in early autumn and contributed constructively to the active convection over the tropical eastern Indian Ocean and western *** effects altogether excited a lower-tropospheric cyclone anomaly to the west of the Philippines and shifted the WPSH northwestwards in early autumn.A mid-latitude cyclonic centre was also observed upstream of East *** dispersed Rossby wave energy southeastwards in the form of cold air *** resultant convergence of cold and dry air from the north with warm and moist air from the south together caused extreme precipitation over northern china in autumn *** conclusions can enhance our current understanding of the causes of autumn extreme precipitation events in northern china and improve our ability to predict such events and prevent resultant disasters.

Monitoring multi-temporal changes of lakes on the Tibetan Plateau using multi-source remote sensing data from 1992 to 2019: A case study of Lake Zhari Namco

Lake level， area and volume are sensitive indicators of climate change. At present， many studies have focused on the interannual water balance of lakes， but lake level and area can change remarkably with seasons， especially for lakes with seasonal ice cover. Zhari Namco， a seasonal frozen lake， was selected as an example to investigate its seasonal water balance. Multi-source altimetry and Landsat data were used to obtain the seasonal lake level and area from 1992 to 2019， and seasonal lake volume variations were also estimated. The results indicated the average lake level， area and volume in autumn were the largest. The lake level， area， and volume experienced three turning points approximately in 2000， 2010， and 2016， and showed an overall increasing trend from 1992 to 2019， with slopes of 0.15 m/year， 2.17 km;/year， and 0.14 km;/year， respectively. The lake area expanded significantly in autumn， which was related to the abundant precipitation. Delay time of land surface runoff， increased temperature， and evaporation may be the reason for the low lake level and volume in summer. The precipitation was the dominant factor of water balance， which explained 62.09%， 62.43%， and 62.10% of the variations in lake level， area， and volume， respectively.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)have induced durable clinical responses in a subset of patients with colorectal cancer(CRC).However,the dis-satisfactory response rate and the lack of appropriate biomarkers for selecting suitable patients to be treated with ICIs pose a major challenge to current ***-related molecule A20 is closely related to cancer immune response,but the effect of A20 on“eat-me”signal and immunotherapy efficacy remains *** found that A20 downregulation prominently improved the antitumor immune response and the efficacy of PD-1 inhibitor in CRC in vitro and in *** A20 expression was associated with less infiltration of immune cells including CD3(+),CD8(+)T cells and macrophages in CRC tissues and also poorer ***-and loss-A20 functional studies proved that A20 could decrease the“eat-me”signal calreticulin(CRT)protein on cell membrane translocation via upregulating stanniocalcin 1(STC1),binding to CRT and detaining in ***,A20 inhibited GSK3βphosphorylating STC1 at Thr86 to slow down the degradation of STC1 *** findings reveal a new crosstalk between inflammatory molecule A20 and“eat-me”signal in CRC,which may represent a novel predictive biomarker for selecting CRC patients most likely to benefit from ICI therapy.

Analysis of Jiangsu Tidal Flats Reclamation from 1974 to 2012 Using Remote Sensing

Jiangsu has the most abundant tidal flat resources among china＇s coastal provinces. To ease the conflict between the growing population and shrinking usable land and to promote regional sustainable development, large-scale coastal reclamation development activities have been performed in Jiangsu Province since 1949. The present study has integrated multi-source remote sensing images during 1974 to 2012 by using a Multi-point Fast Marching Method （MFMM） to extract the Jiangsu coastal reclamation areas for different time periods. The temporal and spatial patterns of the extent and elevation of the reclamation areas were analysed in order to determine the unused potential for future reclamation. It will provide information necessary to support the development and construction of tidal flats in Jiangsu. Results show that：（1） the reclaimed tidal fiats along the Jiangsu coast cover more than 19.86×10^4 hm^2, of which 13.97×10^4 hm^2 is located in Yancheng, 4.84×10^4 hm^2 in Nantong, and 1.05×10^4 hm^2 in Lianyungang; （2） the average elevation of the reclaimed Jiangsu tidal flats has gradually decreased over the last 40 years, while those in Dongtai and Rudong have showed particularly accelerated decrease since the 1990s; and （3） in 2012, very few unused tidal flats two meters above the sea level are left along the Jiangsu coast, and mainly concentrated in Yancheng. As there are still reserving some coastal land resources between 0-2 m, providing us with a potential for future development. All of these findings may be useful for researchers and local authorities for the development and utilization of tidal flat resources in Jiangsu.

Use of Helical Strakes for FIV Suppression of Two Inclined Flexible Cylinders in A Side-by-Side Arrangement

The experimental studies on flow-induced vibrations(FIV) reduction of two side-by-side flexible cylinders inclined at 45° by using the helical strakes were carried out in a towing tank. The main aim of the experiment is to check whether the helical strakes with a pitch of 17.5 D and a height of 0.25 D, which is considered as the most effective vibration suppression device for the isolated cylinder undergoing vortex-shedding, still perform very well to reduce FIV of two inclined flexible cylinders in a side-by-side arrangement. The vibration of two identical inclined cylinders with a mass ratio of 1.90 and an aspect ratio of 350 was tested in the experiment. The center-to-center distance between the two cylinders was 3.0 D. The uniform flow was simulated by towing the cylinder models along the *** towing velocity varied from 0.05 to 1.0 m/s with an interval of 0.05 m/s. The maximum Reynolds number can be up to 1.6×104. Three cases were experimentally studied in this paper, including two side-by-side inclined smooth cylinders, only one smooth cylinder fitted with helical strakes in the two side-by-side inclined cylinders system and both two cylinders attached with helical strakes. The variations of displacement amplitude, dominant frequency, FIV suppression efficiency and dominant mode for the two side-by-side inclined cylinders with reduced velocity were shown and discussed.

Geothermal investigation of the thickness of gas hydrate stability zone in the north continental margin of the south china sea

The exploration of unconventional and/or new energy resources has become the focus of energy research worldwide,given the shortage of fossil *** a potential energy resource,gas hydrate exists only in the environment of high pressure and low temperature,mainly distributing in the sediments of the seafloor in the continental margins and the permafrost zones in *** accurate determination of the thickness of gas hydrate stability zone is essential yet challenging in the assessment of the exploitation *** majority of previous studies obtain this thickness by detecting the bottom simulating reflectors（BSRs） layer on the seismic *** phase equilibrium between gas hydrate stable state with its temperature and pressure provides an opportunity to derive the thickness with the geothermal *** on the latest geothermal dataset,we calculated the thickness of the gas hydrate stability zone（GHSZ） in the north continental margin of the south china *** results indicate that the thicknesses of gas hydrate stability zone vary greatly in different areas of the northern margin of the south china *** thickness mainly concentrates on 200–300 m and distributes in the southwestern and eastern areas with belt-like *** further confirmed a certain relationship between the GHSZ thickness and factors such as heat flow and water *** thickness of gas hydrate stability zone is found to be large where the heat flow is relatively *** GHSZ thickness increases with the increase of the water depth,but it tends to stay steady when the water depth deeper than 3 000 *** findings would improve the assessment of gas hydrate resource potential in the south china sea.

Recent changing patterns of the Changjiang(Yangtze River) Estuary caused by human activities

To evaluate the controlling factors for coastline change of the Changjiang（Yangtze River） Estuary since 1974,we extracted the mean high tide line from multi-temporal remote sensing images that span from 1974 to 2014 at 2-year *** chose 42 scenes to constrain the changing pattern of the Changjiang Estuary coastline,and implemented GIS technology to analyze the area change of the Changjiang（Yangtze） Subaerial ***,sediment discharge and coastal engineering were withal considered in the analysis of the coastline *** coastline has transgressed seaward since 1974,and a part of it presents inter-annual *** area of the Changjiang Subaerial Delta increased by 871 km2,with a net accretion rate of 21.8 km2/*** on the change of sediment discharge due to the major projects in the Changjiang River Basin,we divided the changing pattern of the coastline into three stages：the slow accretion stage（1974–1986）,the moderate accretion stage（1987–2002）,and the rapid accretion stage（2003–2014）.Liner regression analysis illustrated that there is a significantly positive correlation between the area changes and sediment discharge in the Chongming Eastern Shoal and *** suggested that sediment load has a fundamental effect on the evolution of the Changjiang *** of Deep Waterway in the North Passage of the Changjiang River（1998–2010） led to a rapid accretion in the Hengsha Eastern Shoal and Jiuduansha by influencing the hydrodynamics in North *** engineering such as reclamation and harbor construction can also change the morphology of the Changjiang *** defined a contribution rate of area change to assess the impact of reclamation on the evolution of Changjiang *** turned out that more than 45.3% of area increment of the Changjiang Estuary was attributed to reclamation.

Winter sea ice albedo variations in the Bohai sea of china

sea ice conditions in the Bohai sea of china are sensitive to large-scale climatic variations. On the basis of CLARA-A1-SAL data, the albedo variations are examined in space and time in the winter（December, January and February） from 1992 to 2008 in the Bohai sea sea ice region. Time series data of the sea ice concentration（SIC）, the sea ice extent（SIE） and the sea surface temperature（SST） are used to analyze their relationship with the albedo. The sea ice albedo changed in volatility appears along with time, the trend is not obvious and increases very slightly during the study period at a rate of 0.388% per decade over the Bohai sea sea ice *** interannual variation is between 9.93% and 14.50%, and the average albedo is 11.79%. The sea ice albedo in years with heavy sea ice coverage, 1999, 2000 and 2005, is significantly higher than that in other years; in years with light sea ice coverage, 1994, 1998, 2001 and 2006, has low values. For the monthly albedo, the increasing trend（at a rate of 0.988% per decade） in December is distinctly higher than that in January and February. The mean albedo in January（12.90%） is also distinctly higher than that in the other two months. The albedo is significantly positively correlated with the SIC and is significantly negatively correlated with the SST（significance level 90%）.
