Drivers,Trends,and Patterns of Changing Vegetation-greenness in Nansha Islands,china from 2016 to 2022

Changes in vegetation status generally also represents changes in the ecological health of islands and reefs(IRs).However,studies are limited of drivers and trends of vegetation change of Nansha Islands,china and how they relate to climate change and human *** resolve this limitation,we studied changes to the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)vegetation-greenness index for 22 IRs of Nansha Islands during normal and extreme *** of vegetation greenness were analyzed using Sen's slope and Mann-Kendall test at two spatial scales(pixel and island),and driving factor analyses were performed by time-lagged partial correlation *** were related to impacts from human activities and climatic factors under normal(temperature,precipitation,radiation,and Normalized Difference Built-up Index(NDBI))and extreme conditions(wind speed and latitude of IRs)from 2016 to *** showed:1)among the 22 IRs,NDVI increased/decreased significantly in 15/4 IRs,*** Reef had the highest NDVI change-rate(0.48%/mon),and Zhongye Island had the lowest(–0.29%/mon).Local spatial patterns were in one of two forms:dotted-form,and degradation in banded-form.2)Under normal conditions,human activities(characterized by NDBI)had higher impacts on vegetation-greenness than other factors.3)Under extreme conditions,wind speed(R^(2)=0.2337,P<0.05)and latitude(R^(2)=0.2769,P<0.05)provided limited explanation for changes from typhoon *** results provide scientific support for the sustainable development of Nansha Islands and the United Nations‘Ocean Decade’initiative.

Here,we aimed to study the changes in proteome of golden pompano fillets during post-mortem *** mass tags(TMT)-labeled quantitative proteomic strategy was applied to investigate the relationships between protein changes and quality characteristics of modified atmosphere packaging(MAP)fillets during superchilling(-3°C)*** electron microscopy was used to show that the muscle histology microstructure of fillets was damaged to varying degrees,and low-field nuclear magnetic resonance was used to find that the immobilized water and free water in the muscle of fillets changed *** sulfhydryl content,TCA-soluble peptides and Ca2+-ATPase activity also showed that the fillet protein had a deterioration by oxidation and *** Fresh(FS),MAP,and air packaging(AP)groups were *** of 150 proteins were identified as differential abundant proteins(DAPs)in MAP/FS,while 209 DAPs were in AP/FS *** KEGG pathway analysis indicated that most DAPs were involved in binding proteins and protein *** analysis found that 52 DAPs were correlated with quality *** them,8 highly correlated DAPs are expected to be used as potential quality markers for protein oxidation and water-holding *** results provide a further understanding of the muscle deterioration mechanism of packaging golden pompano fillets during superchilling.

Winter extreme precipitation over the Tibetan Plateau influenced by Arctic sea ice on interdecadal timescale

The Tibetan Plateau(TP)and the Arctic are the most sensitive regions to global climate ***,the interdecadal varibility of winter extreme precipitation over the TP and its linkage with Arctic sea ice are still *** this study,the characteristics and mechisnems of the TP extreme precipitation(TPEP)influenced by Arctic sea ice on interdecadal timescale are studied based on the daily precipitation,monthly sea ice concentration and ERA5 reanalysis data from 1980 to *** found that the dominant mode of the TPEP in winter mostly exhibits a uniform spatial variation on the interdecadal timescale,with an opposite weak variation in the southeastern TP,and the Arctic sea ice concentration(SIC)before 2002 are larger than that after *** interdecadal variation of TPEP is affected by two teleconnection wave trains regulated by the Barents and Kara sea *** the light ice years,a remarkable positive geopotential height(HGT)anomaly appears over the Barents-Kara sea and a remarkable negative HGT anomaly is located over the Lake *** wave trains originating over the Barents-Kara sea can be *** southern branch forms a wave train through the North Atlantic along the subtropical westerly jet stream,showing a‘+-+-+'pattern of HGT anomalies from Arctic to the *** HGT anomaly controls the western TP,which creates dynamic and water vapor conditions for the *** northern branch forms a wave train through the Lake Baikal and the southeast of the TP,showing a‘+-+'HGT anomaly *** HGT anomaly controls the southeastern TP,which is not conducive to precipitation in the *** the SIC in the Barents-Kara sea increases,the situation is *** above analysis also reveals the reason for the difference in the east-west distribution of the TPEP.

Oxygenated organic molecules(OOMs)play an important role in the formation of secondary organic aerosols(SOAs),but the mixing states of OOMs are still *** study investigates the mixing states of OOM-containing single particles from the measurements taken using a single particle aerosol mass spectrometer in Guangzhou,china in ***,the particle counts of OOM particles and the mass concentration of secondary organic carbon(SOC)exhibited similar temporal trends throughout the entire *** OOM particles were consistently enriched in secondary ions,including ^(16)O^(−),^(26)CN^(−),^(46)NO_(2)^(−),^(62)NO_(3)^(−),and ^(97)HSO_(4)^(−).In contrast,the number fractions and diurnal patterns of OOM particles among the total detected particles showed similar distributions in August and October;however,the SOC ratios in fine particulate matter were quite different,suggesting that there were different mixing states of single-particle oxygenated *** addition,further classification results indicated that the OOM particles were more aged in October than August,even though the SOC ratios were higher in ***,the distribution of hydrocarbon fragments exhibited a notable decrease from January to October,emphasizing the more aged state of the organics in *** addition,the sharp increase in elemental carbon(EC)-OOM particles in the afternoon in October suggests the potential role of EC in the aging process of ***,in contrast to the bulk analysis of SOC mass concentration,the mixing states of the OOM particles provide insights into the formation process of SOAs in field studies.

Lake level,area and volume are sensitive indicators of climate *** present,many studies have focused on the interannual water balance of lakes,but lake level and area can change remarkably with seasons,especially for lakes with seasonal ice *** Namco,a seasonal frozen lake,was selected as an example to investigate its seasonal water ***-source altimetry and Landsat data were used to obtain the seasonal lake level and area from 1992 to 2019,and seasonal lake volume variations were also *** results indicated the average lake level,area and volume in autumn were the *** lake level,area,and volume experienced three turning points approximately in 2000,2010,and 2016,and showed an overall increasing trend from 1992 to 2019,with slopes of 0.15 m/year,2.17 km^(2)/year,and 0.14 km^(3)/year,*** lake area expanded significantly in autumn,which was related to the abundant *** time of land surface runoff,increased temperature,and evaporation may be the reason for the low lake level and volume in *** precipitation was the dominant factor of water balance,which explained 62.09%,62.43%,and 62.10%of the variations in lake level,area,and volume,respectively.

Projecting Wintertime Newly Formed Arctic sea Ice through Weighting CMIP6 Model Performance and Independence

Precipitous Arctic sea-ice decline and the corresponding increase in Arctic open-water areas in summer months give more space for sea-ice growth in the subsequent cold seasons. Compared to the decline of the entire Arctic multiyear sea ice,changes in newly formed sea ice indicate more thermodynamic and dynamic information on Arctic atmosphere–ocean–ice interaction and northern mid–high latitude atmospheric teleconnections. Here, we use a large multimodel ensemble from phase 6 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project(CMIP6) to investigate future changes in wintertime newly formed Arctic sea ice. The commonly used model-democracy approach that gives equal weight to each model essentially assumes that all models are independent and equally plausible, which contradicts with the fact that there are large interdependencies in the ensemble and discrepancies in models' performances in reproducing observations. Therefore, instead of using the arithmetic mean of well-performing models or all available models for projections like in previous studies, we employ a newly developed model weighting scheme that weights all models in the ensemble with consideration of their performance and independence to provide more reliable projections. Model democracy leads to evident bias and large intermodel spread in CMIP6 projections of newly formed Arctic sea ice. However, we show that both the bias and the intermodel spread can be effectively reduced by the weighting scheme. Projections from the weighted models indicate that wintertime newly formed Arctic sea ice is likely to increase dramatically until the middle of this century regardless of the emissions ***, it may decrease(or remain stable) if the Arctic warming crosses a threshold(or is extensively constrained).

Inoculated fermentation enables rapid fermentation of aquatic products. No studies have been conducted on the lipid profiles of inoculated fermented golden pompano (Trachinotus ovatus). In this study， a lipase-producing Bacillus subtilis with salt tolerance was screened from traditionally fermented golden pompano (TF) and used as a starter culture. Whole-genome sequencing analysis revealed it carries four CRISPR structures and two genes encoding triacylglycerol lipase. Untargeted lipidomics identified lipid molecules (833) in six major classes from B. subtilis SCSMX-2 fermented golden pompano (IF). Twenty-eight lipid molecules were upregulated in IF， including phosphatidylcholines (PCs)， triacylglycerols (TAGs)， and lysophosphatidylcholine. B. subtilis supplementation enhanced the production of polyenyl phosphatidylcholines and medium- and long-chain triacylglycerols. The IF rich in linoleic， docosahexaenoic acids， and eicosapentaenoic acid were primarily distributed in the sn-2 position of DHA， PC and PE. This research revealed the lipid profiles of IF， providing theoretical basis for the application of B. subtilis in the fermented fish industry.

Survey of reefs based on Landsat 8 operational land imager(OLI)images in the Nansha Islands, south china sea

A detailed survey of the reefs in the Nansha Islands＇ sea that are of strategic importance is conducive to their future development. In this study, a total of 50 Landsat 8 operational land imager（OLI） images were used to analyze the geological features and spectral characteristics of the Nansha reefs. The exposed islands/sandbanks,reef flats and sub-tidal reefs were identified with the near-infrared band, the red and green bands, and the blue band, respectively. Based on the relationships among various characteristics and bands illustrated in the OLI images, the maximum between-cluster variance threshold algorithm（OTSU method） and the mathematical morphology were employed to extract characteristic parameters of the spatial geometry of the reefs from top to bottom, which were subsequently operated by a series of post-processing methods such as vectorization,simplification and topological analysis. Among the 132 standalone reefs and 16 atolls that are identified in the study, four reefs have yet to be named in the Standard Names of Various Islands in the south china sea and the website Nansha Islands Online（http：//***/）. Another 24 ones are exposed to the atmosphere even during high tides. Taiping Island with an area of 0.57 km^2 represents the largest exposed geological feature. This study demonstrated the applicability of medium-resolution satellite images to derive the coral reef information effectively and thus provided information for the related departments that are responsible to manage the *** improved resolution of multispectral bands with the panchromatic band in higher spatial resolution（15 m for OLI image） is expected to provide an optimum satellite based approach to map marine habitats.
