Seismic effectiveness evaluation and optimized design of tie up method for securing museum co.lections

To quantify the seismic effectiveness of the most co.monly used fishing line tie up method for securing museum co.lections and optimize fixed strategies for exhibitions,shaking table tests of the seismic systems used for typical museum co.lection replicas have been carried out.The influence of body shape and fixed measure parameters on the seismic responses of replicas and the interaction behavior between replicas and fixed measures have been explored.Based on the results,seismic effectiveness evaluation indexes of the tie up method are proposed.Reasonable suggestions for fixed strategies are given,which provide a basis for the exhibition of delicate museum co.lections co.sidering the principle of minimizing seismic responses and intervention.The analysis results show that a larger ratio of height of mass center to bottom diameter led to more intense rocking responses.Increasing the initial pretension of fishing lines was co.ducive to reducing the seismic responses and stress variation of the lines.Through co.prehensive co.sideration of the interaction forces and effective securement,it is reco.mended to apply 20%of breaking stress as the initial pretension.For specific museum co.lections that cannot be effectively protected by the independent tie up method,an optimized strategy of a co.bination of fishing lines and fasteners is reco.mended.

An Image Fingerprint and Attention Mechanism Based Load Estimation Algorithm for Electric Power System

With the rapid development of electric power systems,load estimation plays an important role in system operation and planning.Usually,load estimation techniques co.tain traditional,time series,regression analysis-based,and machine learning-based estimation.Since the machine learning-based method can lead to better performance,in this paper,a deep learning-based load estimation algorithm using image fingerprint and attention mechanism is proposed.First,an image fingerprint construction is proposed for training data.After the data preprocessing,the training data matrix is co.structed by the cyclic shift and cubic spline interpolation.Then,the linear mapping and the gray-co.or transformation method are proposed to form the co.or image fingerprint.Seco.d,a co.volutional neural network(CNN)co.bined with an attentionmechanism is proposed for training performance improvement.At last,an experiment is carried out to evaluate the estimation performance.co.pared with the support vector machine method,CNN method and long short-term memory method,the proposed algorithm has the best load estimation performance.

Draft tube vortex rope is co.sidered a special cavitation flow phenomenon in tubular turbine units.Cavitation vortex rope is one of the most detrimental factors affecting the safety of hydraulic turbines.In this study,ANSYS CFX software was utilized to numerically simulate the internal cavitation flow of a hydraulic turbine draft tube.The evolution of the cavitation vortex co.e was characterized by vortex line distribution and vorticity transport equation.The shape and number of blades influenced the revolving direction and distribution characteristics of the vortex close to the runner co.e,which formed a co.nterclockwise-clockwise-co.nterclockwise distribution pattern.Simultaneously,there were many seco.dary flows in the draft tube.Mutual cancellation and dissipation between the flows was one of the reasons for reduction in vorticity.When the cross-sectional shape of the draft tube was changed,the vorticity was distributed from the center of the vortex rope to all parts of the cross-sectional draft tube,with extreme values at the center and at the walls.The vortex stretching and dilatation terms played a major role in the change in vorticity,with the baroclinic torque having an effect at the center of the vortex rope,this study is helpful to understand the flow of water in the draft tube and guide the design and optimization of the draft tube in engineering application.

Rural vitality is the life force expressed by a co.bination of endogenous dynamics and external influences. Exploring the co.plex relationship between rural functions, elements and flows co.ld achieve sustainable rural development. This study co.structed a theoretical framework guided by the four functions of production, living, eco.ogy and culture with the support of mobile big data. Furthermore, the network centrality of villages was estimated to reflect the intensity of urban-rural social mobility ties. The results indicated marked spatial disparities in rural vitality, and the co.pling of eco.ogical-cultural vitality has a high degree of co.erence. Four rural vitality grades were identified: high level(38, 14.08%), medium-high level(66, 24.44%), medium-low level(110, 40.74%) and low level(56, 20.74%), co.ering 270 administrative village units. The flow intensity of social linkage elements is co.sistent with rural vitality and the socioeco.omic spillover effect of urban centers on neighboring villages was noticeable. Topographic co.plexity negatively affected the living function, mainly in the T1 and T2 terrain gradients;the rural eco.ogical function was not fully co.related with urban adjacency, and proximity co.ld lead to adverse effects such as urban sprawl and resource destruction. The application of this study is to explore the importance of “flow” by utilizing mobile big data to refine the evaluation unit to the village scale. Accelerating the construction of network co.erage and information interco.nection and promoting the elemental flow of people, transportation and information between urban and rural areas are important ways to enhance rural vitality.

Mechanical responses of underground carriageway structures due to construction of metro tunnels beneath the existing structure:A case study

To understand the mechanical response pattern of the existing structure and ground due to the construction of metro tunnels underneath,the finite difference method is adopted to study the torsional deformation and stress variation of the existing structure and the effect of underground carriageway structures on the surface subsidence.The curves of the maximum differential subsidence,torsion angle,and distortion of the cross-section of the existing structure show two peaks in succession during traversing of two metro tunnels beneath it.The torsion angle of the existing structure changes when the two tunnels traverse beneath it in opposite directions.The first traversing of the shield tunnel mainly induces the magnitude variation in torsional deformation of the existing structure,but the seco.d traversing of the subsurface tunnel may cause a dynamic change in the magnitude and form of torsional deformation in the existing structure.The shielding effect can reduce the surface subsidence caused by metro tunnel excavation to a certain extent,and the development trend of subsidence beco.es slower as the excavation co.tinues.

Seasonal thermal energy storage using natural structures:GIS-based potential assessment for northern china

Seasonal thermal energy storage(STES)allows storing heat for long-term and thus promotes the shifting of waste heat resources from summer to winter to decarbonize the district heating(DH)systems.Despite being a promising solution for sustainable energy system,large-scale STES for urban regions is lacking due to the relatively high initial investment and extensive land use.To close the gap,this study assesses the potentials of using two naturally available structures for STES,namely valley and ground pit sites.Based on geographical information system(GIS)methods,the available locations are searched from digital elevation model and selected co.sidering several criteria from land uses and construction difficulties.The co.ts of dams to impound the reservoir and the yielded storage capacities are then quantified to guide the choice of suitable sites.The assessment is co.ducted for the northern china where DH systems and significant seasonal differences of energy demand exist.In total,2,273 valley sites and 75 ground pit sites are finally identified with the energy storage capacity of 15.2 billion GJ,which is much larger than the existing DH demand in northern china.The results also prove that 682 valley sites can be achieved with a dam co.t lower than 20 CNY/m^(3).By co.ducting sensitivity analysis on the design dam wall height and elevations,the choices of available natural structures are expanded but practical issues about water pressures and constructions are also found.Furthermore,the identified sites are geographically mapped with nearest urban regions to reveal their roles in the DH systems.In general,560 urban regions are found with potential STES units and most of them have STES storage capacities larger than their own DH demand.The novel planning methodology of this study and publicly available datasets create possibilities for the implementations of large-scale STES in urban DH systems.

The utilization and development of urban underground space play a crucial role in optimizing the layout of civic architecture and enhancing the urban eco.ogical environment,which co.tributes toward increasing the overall carrying capacity and promoting sustainable development in megacities.To delve into the research progress of urban underground space,knowledge maps were created using the information visualization software VOSviewer.The literature was systematically extracted from three prominent databases,namely,Web of Science,Sco.us,and china National Knowledge Infrastructure.Acco.ding to the bibliometric analysis of the co.citation and co.e words co.occurrence,the trends and challenges of research on urban underground space were identified.As highlighted by the results obtained,it still remains highly challenging to achieve interdisciplinary co.laboration in urban underground space research;the research trends of urban underground space co.sist of co.laborative planning and whole life cycle sustainable development,multisource geological data informatization and resource evaluation,infrastructure design optimization,and intelligent construction.The knowledge map,drawn using bibliometric methods,offers a quantitative analysis of literature retrieval across various levels.It is reco.nized as an essential tool for exploring and identifying challenges and trends in urban underground space.

Multiscale Characteristics and co.nection Mechanisms of Attraction Networks:A Trajectory Data Mining Approach Leveraging Geotagged Data

Urban tourism is co.sidered a co.plex system,and multiscale exploration of the organizational patterns of attraction networks has beco.e a topical issue in urban tourism,so exploring the multiscale characteristics and co.nection mechanisms of attraction networks is important for understanding the linkages between attractions and even the future destination planning.This paper uses geotagging data to co.pare the links between attractions in Beijing,china during four different periods:the pre-Olympic period(2004–2007),the Olympic Games and subsequent‘heat period’(2008–2013),the post-Olympic period(2014–2019),and the co.ID-19(co.ona Virus Disease 2019)pandemic period(2020–2021).The aim is to better understand the evolution and patterns of attraction networks at different scales in Beijing and to provide insights for tourism planning in the destination.The results show that the macro,meso-,and microscales network characteristics of attraction networks have inherent logical relationships that can explain the co.monalities and differences in the development process of tourism networks.The macroscale attraction network degree Matthew effect is significant in the four different periods and exhibits a morphological monocentric structure,suggesting that new entrants are more likely to be associated with attractions that already have high value.The mesoscale links attractions acco.ding to the co.mon purpose of tourists,and the results of the co.munity segmentation of the attraction networks in the four different periods suggest that the functional polycentric structure describes their clustering effect,and the weak links between clusters result from attractions bound by inco.plete information and distance,and the functional polycentric structure with a generally more efficient network of clusters.The pattern structure at the microscale reveals the topological transformation relationship of the regional co.laboration pattern,and the attraction network structure in the four different periods has a very similar importance prof

Since the Bonn 2011 co.ference,the“water-energy-food”(WEF)nexus has aroused global co.cern to promote sustainable development.The WEF nexus is a co.plex,dynamic,and open system co.taining interrelated and interdependent elements.However,the nexus studies have mainly focused on natural elements based on massive earth observation data.Human elements(e.g.,society,eco.omy,politics,culture)are described insufficiently,because traditional earth observation technologies cannot effectively perceive socioeco.omic characteristics,especially human feelings,emotions,and experiences.Thus,it is difficult to simulate the co.plex WEF nexus.With the development of earth observation sensor technologies and human activity perception methods,geographical big data co.ering both human activities and natural elements offers a new opportunity for in-depth WEF nexus analysis.This study proposes a five-step framework by leveraging geographical big data mining to dig for the hidden value in the data of various natural and human elements.This framework can enable a thorough and co.prehensive analysis of the WEF nexus.Some application examples of the framework,major challenges,and possible solutions are discussed.Geographical big data mining is a promising approach to enhance the analysis of the WEF nexus,strengthen the co.rdinated management of resources and sectors,and facilitate the progress toward sustainable development.

Study on the Design Scheme of Vehicle Flow Lines in Unilateral Agglomerative Open Service Area

In recent years,with the introduction of the strategy to strengthen the co.ntry’s transportation infrastructure and the co.tinuous implementation of new eco.omic development models such as integrating transportation with tourism,various open service areas integrating highway service areas with local tourism have emerged nationwide.Examples include the Yangcheng Lake service area in Jiangsu and the Lengshui service area in Chongqing.This paper focuses on the design example of the Dazu Stone Carving service area on the Chongqing section of the Yurong Expressway,co.prehensively co.sidering factors such as construction scale,terrain co.ditions,and local urban planning.It analyzes and studies the traffic flow design of unilateral agglomerative open service areas around two vehicle traffic co.version links:between the main expressway and the service area,and between the service area and local roads.The aim is to provide a case study reference for similar projects.
