Immobilization of laccase on magnetic PEGDA-CS inverse opal hydrogel for enhancement of bisphenol A degradation in aqueous solution

Endocrine disruptors such as bisphenol A(BPA)adversely affect the environment and human *** are used for the efficient biodegradation of various persistent organic pollutants in an environmentally safe ***,the direct application of free laccases is generally hindered by short enzyme lifetimes,non-reusability,and the high co.t of a single *** this study,laccases were immobilized on a novel magnetic threedimensional poly(ethylene glyco.)diacrylate(PEGDA)-chitosan(CS)inverse opal hydrogel(LAC@MPEGDA@CS@IOH).The immobilized laccase showed significant improvement in the BPA degradation performance and superior storage stability co.pared with the free laccase.91.1%of 100 mg/L BPA was removed by the LAC@MPEGDA@CS@IOH in 3 hr,whereas only 50.6%of BPA was removed by the same amount of the free *** with the laccase,the outstanding BPA degradation efficiency of the LAC@MPEGDA@CS@IOH was maintained over a wider range of pH values and ***,its relative activity of was maintained at 70.4%after 10 cycles,and the system performed well in actual water *** efficientmethod for preparing immobilized laccases is simple and green,and it can be used to further develop eco.riendly biocatalysts to remove organic pollutants from wastewater.

Salinity is reco.nized as a pivotal factor limiting the migration of freshwater fish to brackish *** largemouth bass(LMB,Micropterus salmoides),a globally translocated freshwater fish,exhibits estuarine distribution,yet its hyperosmoregulatory capacity during early ontogenetic stages remains inadequately *** investigate the impact of freshwater salinization,a series of experiments were co.ducted in Guangzhou and Foshan,*** reveal that freshwater-activated mature eggs and naturally fertilized oocytes maintained nearly identical osmotic homeostasis,with diameters of 1.38±0.07 mm and 1.37±0.05 mm,***,both exhibited peak water excretion at a salinity of ***,a reduction in water permeability was observed in hyperosmotic *** hatching rates increased from 27.5%±14.4%in the 1.0 group to 75.1%±12.0%in the 6.0 group under fluctuating temperature ***-sac LMB larvae co.sistently reduced survival time from 12.5 d at 1.0 to 50.7±2.1 min at salinity of ***,more developed larvae also experienced a decrease in survival *** regression models fitting lethal time with salinity indicated a sharp decrease between 10.0 and *** findings offer practical insights for predicting distribution patterns and enhancing aquaculture technology for ***,they may co.tribute theoretically to the broader understanding of the osmoregulatory mechanisms of freshwater fish.

Eco.ogical monitoring vehicles are equipped with a range of sensors and monitoring devices designed to gather data on eco.ogical and environmental *** vehicles are crucial in various fields,including environmental science research,eco.ogical and environmental monitoring projects,disaster response,and emergency management.A key method employed in these vehicles for achieving high-precision positioning is LiDAR(lightlaser detection and ranging)-Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping(SLAM).However,maintaining highprecision localization in co.plex scenarios,such as degraded environments or when dynamic objects are present,remains a significant *** address this issue,we integrate both semantic and texture information from LiDAR and cameras to enhance the robustness and efficiency of data ***,semantic information simplifies the modeling of scene elements,reducing the reliance on dense point clouds,which can be less ***,visual texture information co.plements LiDAR-Visual localization by providing additional co.textual *** inco.porating semantic and texture details frompaired images and point clouds,we significantly improve the quality of data association,thereby increasing the success rate of *** approach not only enhances the operational capabilities of eco.ogical monitoring vehicles in co.plex environments but also co.tributes to improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of eco.ogical monitoring and environmental protection efforts.

Iron is a crucial micronutrient, and its deficiency can have detrimental effects on the health of infants. Dietary polysaccharide-iron(Ⅲ) co.plexes(PICs) are promising for addressing iron deficiency due to their minimal adverse reactions and high iron absorption rate. This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary Enteromorpha prolifera polysaccharide-Fe(Ⅲ) co.plex(EP-Fe) on newborns, using 3-day weaned piglets as the iron-deficiency model. Results showed that EP-Fe improved iron levels and promoted intestinal development in piglets. Transcriptome sequencing revealed that EP-Fe increased the survival of intestinal epithelial cells under hypoxia by upregulating the expression of genes that promote the development of the vascular system. Additionally, EP-Fe enhanced the muco.al barrier functions by inhibiting myosin light chain kinase(MLCK)/phosphorylated myosin light chain(p-MLC) signaling pathway to increase the expression of intestinal tight junction proteins. Furthermore, the 16S r RNA gene sequencing of gut microbiota showed that EP-Fe promoted the enrichment of Bacteroides_fragilis and other gut microbes that can metabolize carbohydrates. In co.clusion, EP-Fe is an effective iron supplement for newborns, and it can be developed as a co.prehensive nutritional supplement.

Ensuring the safety and performance of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)is a significant challenge for electric *** tackle this issue,an innovative liquid-immersed battery thermal management system(LIBTMS)using bionic baffles with fish-like perforations is *** thermal-flow-electric co.pling characteristics of LIBTMSs with different baffle structures(no baffle,co.ventional baffle,baffle with circular perforations and baffle with fish-like perforations)are systematically investigated using experimental and numerical *** results indicate that the forced flow scheme exhibits better thermal management performance and voltage equalization than static ***,the LIB temperatures and voltage deviations of different LIBTMSs increase quickly with increasing discharge *** importantly,the innovative LIBTMS exhibits the best thermoelectric performance due to its excellent thermoelectric equilibrium behavior caused by high electrical and temperature co.sistency,as well as the best overall performance involving the balance between the pressure loss and heat transfer capacity of the *** with other structures,the innovative LIBTMS using baffles with fish-like perforations exhibits a maximum reduction of 10.1%,15.2%,25.8%and 9.0%in LIB maximum temperature,maximum temperature difference,system pressure drop and voltage deviation,respectively,under the same operating ***,for the LIBTMS using baffles with fish-like perforations,the bottom inlet and top outlet co.figuration and co.lant preco.ling are suggested to enhance co.ling performance.

Effect of h-BN rods on high-temperature properties of alumina-carbon refractory

h-BN rods modified low-carbon alumina-carbon(Al_(2)O_(3)-C)refractories were prepared,and the effect of h-BN rod addition on the high-temperature properties was investigated and co.pared with co.mercial h-BN flake,carbon black,and carbon nanotubes *** results demonstrated that Al_(2)O_(3)-C refractories co.taining h-BN rods exhibited optimal high-temperature service performances,including 25%higher hot modulus of rupture,21.3%higher thermal shock strength residual ratio,20.9%lower in oxidation and 44.3%less in slag co.rosion,co.pared to the co.nterpart specimens without ***,benefiting from the synergistic enhancement of the rod-like h-BN and in-situ generated SiC whiskers,the high-temperature service performances of h-BN rods co.taining specimens outperformed co.nterpart specimens co.taining co.mercial h-BN flake,carbon black,and carbon nanotubes,respectively.

Evaluation of the shear stability of aerobic granular sludge from a pilot-scale membrane bioreactor:Establishment of a quantitative method

This work established a quantitative method to access the shear stability of aerobic granular sludge(AGS)and validated its feasibility by using the mature AGS from a pilot-scale(50 tons/day)membrane bioreactor(MBR)for treating real municipal *** results showed that the changing rate( S)of the peak area(S)of granule size distribution(GSD)exhibited an exponential relationship(R^(2)≥0.76)with the shear time(y=a−b·cx),which was a suitable indicative index to reflect the shear stability of different AGS *** limiting granule size(LGS)was defined and proposed to characterize the equilibrium size for AGS after being sheared for a period of time,whose value in terms of Dv50 showed high co.relation(R^(2)=0.92)with the parameter *** free Ca^(2+)(28.44-34.21 mg/L)in the influent specifically interacted with polysaccharides(PS)in the granule’s extracellular polymeric substance(EPS)as a nucleation site,thereby inducing the formation of Ca precipitation to enhance its Young’s modulus,while Ca2+primarily interacted with PS in soluble metabolic product(SMP)during the initial granulation ***,the Young’s modulus significantly affected the parameter a related to shear stability(R^(2)=0.99).Since the parameter a was more closely related(R^(2)=1.00)to S than that of the parameter b or c,the excellent co.relation(R^(2)=0.99)between the parameter a and the wet density further verified the feasibility of this method.
