An in-house co.e,co.THAC-3D,was developed to calculate and analyze thermal-hydraulic phenomena in co.tainments during severe ***-3D is a three-dimensional co.putational fluid dynamics co.e that can be applied to predict gas flow,diffusion,and steam co.densation in a co.tainment during a severe hypothetical accident,as well as to obtain an estimate of the local hydrogen co.centration in various zones of the ***-3D was developed using multiple models to simulate the features of the proprietary systems and equipment of HPR1000 and ACP100,such as the passive co.ling system,passive autocatalytic reco.biners and the passive air co.ling *** validate co.THAC-3D,a GX6 test was performed at the Battelle Model co.tainment *** hydrogen co.centration and temperature monitored by the GX6 test are accurately predicted by ***,the hydrogen distribution in the HPR1000 co.tainment during a severe accident was *** results show that the hydrogen removal rates calculated using co.THAC-3D for different types of PARs agree well with the theoretical values,with an error of less than 1%.As the accident progresses,the hydrogen co.centration in the lower co.partment beco.es higher than that in the large space,which implies that the lower co.partment has a higher hydrogen risk than the dome and large space at a later stage of the *** amount of hydrogen removed by the PARs placed on the floor of the co.partment is small;therefore,raising the installation height of these reco.biners appropriately is ***,we do not reco.mend installing all autocatalytic reco.biners at high *** study findings in regard to the hydrogen distribution in the HPR1000 co.tainment indicate that co.THAC-3D can be applied to the study of hydrogen risk co.tainment.

Cyber-Physical Resilience Enhancement for power Transmission Systems with Energy Storage Systems

In a power system, when extreme events occur, such as ice storm, large scale blackouts may be unavoidable. Such small probability but high risk events have huge impact on power systems. Most resilience research in power systems only co.siders faults on the physical side, which would lead to overly idealistic results. This paper proposes a two-stage cyber-physical resilience enhancement method co.sidering energy storage (ES) systems. The first stage calculates optimal planning of ES systems, and the seco.d stage assesses resilience and enhancement of ES systems during the disaster. In the proposed model, cyber faults indirectly damage the system by disabling monitoring and co.trol function of co.trol center. As a result, when detection and response process of physical faults are blocked by cyber failures, serious load shedding occurs. Such a cyber-physical co.pling mechanism of fault, response, restoration process is demonstrated in the modified IEEE Reliable Test System-79 (RTS-79). Simulation results show co.pared with the physical-only system, the cyber-physical system has a more accurate but degraded resilient performance. Besides, ES systems setting at proper place effectively enhance resilience of the cyber-physical transmission system with less load Shedding.

Structural damage detection(SDD)remains highly challenging,due to the difficulty in selecting the optimal damage features from a vast amount of *** this study,a tree model-based method using decision tree and random forest was employed for feature selection of vibration response signals in *** datasets were obtained by numerical experiments and vibration experiments,*** features extracted using this method were input into a co.volutional neural network to determine the location of structural *** indicated a 5%to 10%improvement in detection accuracy co.pared to using original datasets without feature selection,demonstrating the feasibility of this *** proposed method,based on tree model and classification,addresses the issue of extracting effective information from numerous vibration response signals in structural health monitoring.

To explore the kinetic adsorption under co.tinuous and nonequilibrium states, an integration of co.tinuous measurement and adsorption platform kinetics method was proposed, which was initially called the ICM-AP kinetics method, and a co.responding kinetic adsorption experimental method was developed. Adsorption experiments of europium(Eu) on Ca-bentonite,Na-bentonite, and the D231 cation exchange resin were performed using the ICM-AP kinetics method and co.tinuous measurements. Because the kinetic experimental results observed in this study were different from those of traditional batch adsorption data, pseudo-first-order or pseudo-seco.d-order kinetic models were unsuitable for fitting the experimental ***, a liquid membrane diffusion(LMD) model was developed based on the assumption of simultaneous adsorption/desorption to discuss the mechanism of kinetic adsorption. The kinetic adsorption mechanism was also studied by using *** results indicated that the proposed adsorption model can fit the experimental data more suitably, and the adsorption/desorption behaviors of Eu on bentonite and the D231 resin were simultaneously observed, suggesting that the adsorption kinetics of Eu(Ⅲ) was mainly dominated by hydrated Eu(Ⅲ) ions on the liquid membrane.

Electrode materials with high desalination capacity and long-term cyclic stability are the focus of capacitive deionization(CDI) co.munity. Understanding the causes of performance decay in traditional carbons is crucial to design a high-performance material. Based on this, here, nitrogen-doped activated carbon(NAC) was prepared by pyrolyzing the blend of activated carbon powder(ACP) and melamine for the positive electrode of asymmetric CDI. By co.paring the indicators changes such as co.ductivity, salt adsorption capacity, pH, and charge efficiency of the symmetrical ACP-ACP device to the asymmetric ACP-NAC device under different CDI cycles, as well as the changes of the electrochemical properties of anode and cathode materials after long-term operation, the reasons for the decline of the stability of the CDI performance were revealed. It was found that the carboxyl functional groups generated by the electro-oxidation of anode carbon materials make the anode zero-charge potential(E_(pzc)) shift positively,which results in the uneven distribution of potential windows of CDI units and affects the adsorption capacity. Furthermore, by understanding the electron density on C atoms surrounding the N atoms, we attribute the increased cyclic stability to the enhanced negativity of the charge of carbon atoms adjacent to quaternary-N and pyridinic-oxide-N.

Detection of Nonlinear Behavior Induced by Hard Limiting in Voltage Source co.verters in Wind Farms Based on Higher-order Spectral Analysis

In recent years, sub-synchronous oscillation accidents caused by wind power integration have received extensive attention. The reco.ded co.stant-amplitude waveforms can be induced by either linear or nonlinear oscillation mechanisms. Hence, the nonlinear behavior needs to be distinguished prior to choosing the analysis method. Since the 1960s, the higher-order statistics(HOS) theory has beco.e a powerful tool for the detection of nonlinear behavior(DNB) in production quality co.trol wherein it has mainly been applied to mechanical co.dition monitoring and fault diagnosis. This study focuses on the hard limiters of the voltage source co.verter(VSC) co.trol systems in the wind farms and attempts to detect the nonlinear behavior caused by bi-or uni-lateral saturation hard limiting using the HOS analysis. First, the co.ventional describing function is extended to obtain the detailed frequency domain information on the bi-and uni-lateral saturation hard limiting. Furthermore, the bi-and tri-spectra are introduced as the HOS, which are extended into bi-and tri-co.erence spectra to eliminate the effects of the linear parts on the harmonic characteristics of hard limiting in the VSC co.trol system, respectively. The effectiveness of the HOS in the DNB and the classification of the hard-limiting types is proven, and its detailed derivation and estimation procedure is presented. Finally, the quadratic and cubic phase co.pling in the signals is illustrated, and the performance of the proposed method is evaluated and discussed.
