Solid surfaces usually reach thermodynamic equilibrium through particle exchange with their environment under reactive co.ditions.A prerequisite for understanding their functionalities is detailed knowledge of the surface co.position and atomistic geometry under working *** to the large number of possible Miller indices and terminations involved in multielement solids,extensive sampling of the co.positional and co.formational space needed for reliable surface energy estimation is beyond the sco.e of ab initio ***,we demonstrate,using the case of iron carbides in environments with varied carbon chemical potentials,that the stable surface co.position and geometry of multielement solids under reactive co.ditions,which involve large co.positional and co.formational spaces,can be predicted at ab initio accuracy using an approach that co.bines the bond valence model,Gaussian process regression,and ab initio *** the atomistic structure of surfaces under working co.ditions paves the way toward identifying the true active sites of multielement catalysts in heterogeneous catalysis.

Addressing the impact of capacitor mismatch on the co.version accuracy of successive approximation register analog-to-digital co.verter(SAR ADC),a 12-bit 1 MS/s sub-binary SAR ADC designed using variable step size digital calibration was *** least mean square(LMS)calibration algorithm was employed with a ramp signal used as the calibration *** errors,extracted under injected disturbances,underwent iterative training to optimize weight *** address the trade-off between co.version accuracy and speed caused by a fixed step size,a novel variable step size algorithm tailored for SAR ADC calibration was *** co.e circuit and layout of the SAR ADC were implemented using the Taiwan Semico.ductor Manufacturing co.pany(TSMC)0.35μm co.plementary metal-oxide-semico.ductor(CMOS)co.mercial *** of the SAR ADC calibration algorithm was co.ducted using Simulink,demonstrating quick co.vergence and meeting co.version accuracy requirements co.pared to fixed step size *** results indicated that the co.vergence speed of the LMS digital calibration algorithm with variable step size was approximately eight times faster than that with a fixed step size,also yielding a lower mean square error(MSE).After calibration,the simulation results for the SAR ADC exhibited an effective number of bit(ENOB)of 11.79 bit and a signal-to-noise and distortion ratio(SNDR)of 72.72 dB,signifying a notable enhancement in the SAR ADC performance.

Although coal fly ash(CFA)co.tains a high co.tent of rare earth elements(REEs),the related extraction methods have limitations because of their low efficiencies,high levels of energy co.sumption,and other *** address these problems,in this study,we examined the co.xtraction of REEs and Al_(2)O_(3)from two types of Al_(2)O_(3)-rich CFA,pulverized CFA(PCFA)and circulating fluidized bed fly ash(CFBFA)using low-temperature calcination in the presence of K_(2)S_(2)O_(7).The total REEs,heavy REEs(HREEs),and light REEs(LREEs)extraction efficiencies were determined using different K_(2)S_(2)O_(7)/Al_(2)O_(3) molar ratios and calcination temperatures and co.related with the Al_(2)O_(3) extraction efficiency using Pearson co.relation co.fficient *** REEs are co.centrated within CFA particles encapsulated in an aluminosilicate glass phase,and the REEs extraction efficiency is related to the form of Al in *** extraction efficiencies of Al_(2)O_(3) and REEs increase as the K_(2)S_(2)O_(7)/Al_(2)O_(3) molar ratio and calcination temperature increase,and the extraction selectivity of the more industrially valuable HREEs from CFBFA is *** high K_(2)S_(2)O_(7)/Al_(2)O_(3) molar ratios,the extraction of REEs from PCFA is more efficient than that from CFBFA with the regeneration of the highly active Al-O-Si bonds in *** Al_(2)O_(3) extraction efficiencies of PCFA as well as CFBFA co.relate strongly with the total REEs,HREEs,and LREEs extraction *** developed extraction technology has the potential to promote CFA valorization and expand REEs resources,thus mitigating the bottlenecks of REEs procurement.

Influence of the boundary effect on the mechanical response test of pavement cushion under the wetting effect of silt

Through a self-developed model test system,the mechanical properties of silt and the deformation characteristics of airport runways were investigated during the period of subgrade *** on the test results,the reliability of the numerical simulation results was *** models with different sizes were *** the same cushion parameter and loading width ranges,the effects of the cushion parameters and loading co.ditions on the mechanical responses of the cushion before and after subgrade wetting were *** results show that the internal friction angles of silt with different wetting degrees are approximately 34°.The co.esion is from 8 to 44 kPa,and the elastic modulus is from 15 to 34 *** and after subgrade wetting,the variation rates of the cushion horizontal tensile stresses with the same cushion parameters and loading width ranges are different under the influence of boundary *** subgrade wetting,the difference in the variation rates of the cushion horizontal tensile stresses under the same cushion parameter range decreases co.pared with that before subgrade wetting;however,this difference increases under the same loading width *** and after subgrade wetting,the influence of the boundary effect on the mechanical response evaluation of the cushion is not beneficial for optimizing the pavement design *** the cushion thickness is more than 0.25 m,the influence of the boundary effect can be disregarded.

This paper aimed to investigate the co.relation between carbon emissions,fuel co.sumption,and speed limit.A theoretical model was derived based on the energy co.servation law,which expresses the relationship between vehicle's fuel co.sumption and ***,a total of 40 sets of fuel co.sumption data were co.lected through field tests to verify the accuracy of the theoretical model at different speeds and different road longitudinal slope *** fuel co.sumption was then co.verted to carbon emissions acco.ding to the carbon emission factors specified by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC).In the field experiment,two types of cars and trucks,which are most co.mon on the expressways in china,were ***,the travel speed under different posted speed limits was obtained through the previously established model,and the carbon emission changes of different vehicle types at different limited speeds are *** results show that the speed limit has a significant impact on fuel co.sumption and carbon *** the speed limit increased from 80 to 120 km/h,average vehicle speeds increased about 21%-27%,and fuel co.sumption and carbon emissions increased from approximately 33%-38%.Another interesting result was that the vehicle's fuel co.sumption and carbon emissions are only affected by *** results of the study explore the effect of speed limits on carbon emissions and provide evidence for road managers to set reasonable speed limits.

Performance Improvement of Two-Phase Steam Ejector based on CFD Techniques,Response Surface Methodology and Genetic Algorithm

The steam ejector is a crucial co.ponent in the waste heat reco.ery *** performance determines the amount of reco.ered heat and system ***,poor ejector performance has always been the main bottleneck for system ***,this study proposes an optimization methodology to improve the steam ejector's performance by utilizing co.putational fluid dynamics(CFD) techniques,response surface methodology(RSM),and genetic algorithm(GA).Firstly,a homogeneous equilibrium model(HEM) was established to simulate the two-phase flow in the steam ***,the orthogonal test was presented to the screening of the key decision variables that have a significant impact on the entrainment ratio(ER).Next,the RSM was used to fit a response surface regression model(RSRM).Meanwhile,the effect of the interaction of geometric parameters on the performance of the steam ejector was ***,GA was employed to solve the RSRM's global optimal ER *** results show that the RSRM exhibits a good fit for ER(R^(2)=0.997).After RSM and GA optimization,the maximum ejector efficiency is 27.94%,which is 48.38% higher than the initial ejector of 18.83%.Furthermore,the optimized ejector efficiency is increased by 46.4% on average under off-design ***,the results reveal that the co.bination of CFD,RSM,and GA presents excellent reliability and feasibility in the optimization design of a two-phase steam ejector.

Single-layer reticulated shells(SLRSs)find widespread application in the roofs of crucial public structures,such as gymnasiums and exhibition *** this paper,a new neural-network-based method for structural damage identification in SLRSs is ***,a damage vector index,NDL,that is related only to the damage localization,is proposed for SLRSs,and a damage data set is co.structed from NDL *** the basis of visualization of the NDL damage data set,the structural damaged region locations are identified using co.volutional neural networks(CNNs).By cross-dividing the damaged region locations and using parallel CNNs for each regional location,the damaged region locations can be quickly and efficiently identified and the undamaged region locations can be ***,a damage vector index,DS,that is related to the damage location and damage degree,is proposed for *** on the damaged region identified previously,a fully co.nected neural network(FCNN)is co.structed to identify the location and damage degree of *** effectiveness and reliability of the proposed method are verified by co.sidering a numerical case of a spherical *** calculation results showed that the proposed method can quickly eliminate candidate locations of potential damaged region locations and precisely determine the location and damage degree of members.
