Although conventional radiotherapy remains to be one of the most useful treatments for cancer, it is not the best strategy to maximize the effects on the tumors and minimize the damage to the surrounding tissues due to its physical and biological characteristics. synchrotron radiation (sR) with uniquely physical and biological advantages may represent an innovative approach for cancer treatment. In recent years, sR-based photon activation therapy, stereotactic synchrotron radiation therapy and micro-beam radiation treatment have been developed, and the results of in vitro and in vivo experiments are very promising. It is necessary to understand the physical and radiobiological principle of those novel strategies before the approach is applied to the clinic. In this paper, we summarize the advances of sR in terms of physical, radiobiological advantages and its potential clinical applications. With the successful operation of shanghai synchrotron radiation, good opportunities in China have been provided for investigations on the treatment of cancer with synchrotron radiation.

AIM:To quantify changes in radial peripapillary capillary vessel density(ppVD)and the peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer(pRNFL)in children with type 1 diabetes without clinical diabetic retinopathy by optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA),providing a basis for early retinopathy in children with type 1 ***:This was a retrospective study.A total of 30 patients(3–14y)with type 1 diabetes without clinical diabetic retinopathy(NDR group)were included.A total of 30 age-matched healthy subjects were included as the normal control group(CON group).The HbA1c level in the last 3mo was measured once in the NDR *** pRNFL thickness and ppVD were automatically measured,and the mean pRNFL and ppVD were calculated in the nasal,inferior,temporal,and superior *** changes in ppVD and pRNFL in the two groups were ***:Compared with CON group,the nasal and superior ppVDs decreased in the NDR group(all Pss of the nasal pRNFL decreased significantly(Psuperior pRNFLs slightly decreased but not significant in the NDR group(all P>0.05).Person and spearman correlation analysis of ppVD and pRNFL thickness in each quadrant of the NDR group showed a positive correlation between nasal and superior(all Psignificant correlation(all P>0.05).There was no significant correlation between the HbA1c level and ppVD and pRNFL in any quadrant(all P>0.05).There was no significant correlation between the course of diabetes mellitus and ppVD and pRNFL in any quadrant(all P>0.05).CONCLUsION:ppVD and pRNFL decrease in eyes of children with type 1 diabetes before clinically detectable retinopathy and OCTA is helpful for early monitoring.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of ZiYin Xiehuo granules(ZYXH) and Zishen Qinggan granules(ZsQG) on partial precocious puberty(PPP).METHODs: This was a multicenter, randomized, single-blind, positive-controlled trial. A total of 143 pa-tients were assigned to either the ZYXH group or the ZsQG group using a random number table. The ZYXH group received ZYXH three times daily for 6 months and the ZsQG group received ZsQG three times daily for 6 months. Mammary nucleus diameter; the results of uterus, ovarian, and maximum follicle measures; and Chinese medicine symptom pattern scores were compared at baseline and after 3 months and 6 months of ***: After 3 months' treatment, there were no significant differences between the two groups in mammary nucleus index changes(left 3.4 ± 3.1 vs3.5 ± 3.1, P = 0.790; right 3.0 ± 2.9 vs 3.6 ± 3.0, P =0.719). The uterine volume in the ZYXH group was smaller than that in the ZsQG group(2.1 ± 1.6 vs2.6 ± 2.2, P = 0.006). There were no significant between-group differences in ovarian volume and maximum follicular diameter on either side(ovarian volume: left 1.2 ± 0.7 vs 1.3 ± 0.6, P = 0.8; right1.2 ± 0.7 vs 1.4 ± 1.1, P = 0.984; maximum follicular diameter: left 3.9 ± 1.7 vs 3.5 ± 2.2, P = 0.158; right3.5 ± 1.7 vs 3.9 ± 2.1, P = 0.314).CONCLUsION: ZYXH granules and ZsQG granules both affected the size of the mammary nucleus in girls with PPP, and improved Chinese medicine symptom patterns. ZYXH granules showed slight advantages over ZsQG granules in terms of the decrease in the size of the uterus, ovaries, and ovarian follicles.

A series of tungstate red phosphors K_(1-x)Li_(x)Eu(WO_(4))_(2-y)(sO_(4))_(y)were successfully prepared by sol-gel method,and the effects of the introduction of Li^(+)and sO_(4)^(2-)on the fluorescence intensity and thermal quenching properties of the prepared K_(1-x)Li_(x)Eu(WO_(4))_(2-y)(sO_(4))_(y)phosphors were *** X-ray diffraction data show that the prepared(Li^(+)and sO_(4)^(2-))-doped KEu(WO_(4))_(2)phosphors have a monoclinic tetragonal *** addition,the emission intensities of all the observed emission peaks change significantly with the increase of Li~+doping concentration,especially the intensity of the emission peaks at 615 nm fluctuated significantly and reached the maximum at x=0.3 and y=*** K_(1-x)Li_(x)Eu(WO_(4))_(2-y)(sO_(4))_(y)phosphors are found to have the highest fluorescence intensity at x=0.3 and y=***,the K_(0.7)Li_(0.3)Eu(WO_(4))_(1.8)(sO_(4))_(0.2)phosphor has better thermal quenching properties and luminescence efficiency,and the experimental results indicates that the fluorescence intensity and thermal burst performance of KEu(WO_(4))_(2)red phosphor could be effectively improved by using low-cost bionic doping of Li^(+)and sO_(4)^(2-).

Background We aimed to evaluate the tolerability and efficacy of linezolid in children for treating suspected and diagnosed Gram-positive bacterial *** A systematic literature search was conducted up to April 23,2021,using linezolid and its synonyms as search *** reviewers independently identified and extracted relevant randomized controlled trials and prospective cohort *** extracted studies were included in a single-rate meta-analysis of adverse events and clinical outcomes using random-effects *** A total of 1082 articles were identified,and nine studies involving 758 children were included in the *** overall proportion of adverse events was 8.91%[95%confidence interval(CI)=1.64%–36.52%],with diarrhea(2.24%),vomiting(2.05%),and rash(1.72%)being the most *** incidences of thrombocytopenia and anemia were 0.68%and 0.16%,*** specific adverse events,including rash and gastrointestinal events,were more frequent in the oral administration *** terms of efficacy,the overall proportion of clinical improvement was 88.80%(95%CI=81.31%–93.52%).children with a history of specific bacteriological diagnosis or concomitant antibiotic therapy had a 1.13-fold higher clinical improvement than children without such *** proportion of microbial eradication was 92.68%(95%CI=84.66%–96.68%).The proportion of all-cause mortality was 0.16%(95%CI=0.00%–7.75%).Conclusions Linezolid was well-tolerated in pediatric patients and was associated with a low frequency of adverse events,such as anemia,thrombocytopenia,and ***,linezolid was effective in children with diagnosed and suspected Gram-positive infections.

Tendon regeneration is still a great challenge due to its avascular structure and low self-renewal *** nitric oxide(NO)therapy emerges as a promising treatment for inducing the regeneration of injured tendon by ***,in this study,a system that NO-loaded metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)encapsulated in polycaprolactone(PCL)/gelatin(Gel)aligned coaxial scaffolds(NMPGA)is designed and prepared for tendon *** this system,NO is able to be released in vitro at a slow and stable average speed of 1.67 nM h^−1 as long as 15 d without a burst release stage in the initial 48 ***,NMPGA can not only improve the tubular formation capability of endothelial cells in vitro but also obviously increase the blood perfusion near the injured tendon in vivo,leading to accelerating the maturity of collagen and recovery of biomechanical strength of the regenerated tendon *** a NO-loaded MOFs therapeutic system,NMPGA can promote tendon regeneration in a shorter healing period with better biomechanical properties in comparison with control group by ***,this study not only provides a promising scaffold for tendon regeneration,but also paves a new way to develop a NO-based therapy for biomedical application in the future.

The relationship between dopamine D2 receptors and brain perfusion in hemi-parkinsonism rats was studied. Hemi-parkinsonism rats were made by stereotaxic 6-hydroxy dopamine (6-OH-DA) lesions in substantia nigra(sN) and ventral tegmental area(VTA), apomorphine (Apo) which could induced the successful model rat rotates toward the intact side was used to select the rats, 125I-IBZM ex-vivo autoradiography analysis and 99mTc-HM-PAO regional cerebral biodistribution were used to evaluate D2 receptors and cerebral blood flow. The HPLC-ECD were used to measure striatum DA and its metabolites content. The lesioned side striatum DA and its metabolites HVA DOPAC reduced significantly than that of the intact side and seudo-operated group, striatum/cerebellum 125I-IBZM uptake ratio was 8.04+-0.71 in lesioned side of hemi-parkinsonism rats, significantly increased compared with the intact side and the seudo-operated group(p s compared to the intact side, and also show good correlation with 30 min Apo induced rotation numbers (r=0.98), the regional cerebral blood flow study didn’t show significant difference between bilateral brain cortex area(p >0.05). These results indicated that in the 6- OH-DA lesioned side DA content decreased significantly and an up-regulation of striatum D2 receptor binding sites was induced in hemi-parkinsonism rats, which showed good correlation with rotation behavior induced by Apo. Comparing with cerebral blood flow, D2 receptor reflected by IBZM seems to be more specific and earlier to detect the cerebral functional impairment in experimental bend-parkinsonism.

AIM:To investigate the feasibility and long-term functional outcome of ileal pouch-anal anastomosis with modified double-stapled ***:From January 2002 to March 2011,fourtyfive patients underwent ileal pouch anal anastomosis with modified double-stapled mucosectomy technique and the clinical data obtained for these patients were ***:Patients with ulcerative colitis(n = 29) and familial adenomatous polyposis(n = 16) underwent ileal pouch-anal anastomosis with modified doublestapled ***-eight patients underwent one-stage restorative proctocolectomy,ileal pouch anal anastomosis,protective ileostomy and the ileostomy was closed 4-12 mo ***-stage procedures were performed in seventeen urgent patients,proctectomy and ileal pouch anal anastomosis were completed after previous colectomy with *** within the first 30 d of surgery occurred in 10(22.2%) patients,all of them could be treated *** the median follow-up of 65 mo,mild to moderate anastomotic narrowing was occurred in 4 patients,one patient developed persistent anastomotic stricture and need surgical *** percent of patients developed at least 1 episode of *** was no incontinence in our patients,the median functional Oresland score was 6,3 and 2 after 1 year,2.5 years and 5 years *** half patients(44.4%) reported "moderate functioning",37.7% reported "good functioning",whereas in 17.7% of patients "poor functioning" was observed after 1 *** years later,79.2% of patients with good function,16.7% with moderate function,only 4.2% of patients with poor ***:The results of ileal pouch anal anastomosis with modified double-stapled mucosectomy technique are promising,with a low complication rate and good long-term functional results.
