Background: The urban-rural disparities in overweight and obesity among children and adolescents are narrowing, and there is a need for long-term and updated data to explain this inequality, understand the underlying mechanisms, and identify priority groups for ***: We analyzed data from seven rounds of the Chinese National Survey on Students Constitution and Health (CNSSCH) conducted from 1985 to 2019, focusing on school-age children and adolescents aged 7-18 years. Joinpoint regression was used to identify inflection points (indicating a change in the trend) in the prevalence of overweight and obesity during the study period, stratified by urban/rural areas and sex. Annual percent change (APC), average annual percent change (AAPC), and 95% confidence interval (CI) were used to describe changes in the prevalence of overweight and obesity. Polynomial regression models were used to predict the prevalence of overweight and obesity among children and adolescents in 2025 and 2030, considering urban/rural areas, sex, and age ***: The prevalence of overweight and obesity in urban boys and girls showed an inflection point of 2000, with AAPC values of 10.09% (95% CI: 7.33-12.92%,t = 7.414,P <0.001) and 8.67% (95% CI: 6.10-11.30%,t = 6.809,P <0.001), respectively. The APC for urban boys decreased from 18.31% (95% CI: 4.72-33.67%,t = 5.926,P = 0.027) to 4.01% (95% CI: 1.33-6.75%,t = 6.486,P = 0.023), while the APC for urban girls decreased from 13.88% (95% CI: 1.82-27.38%,t = 4.994,P = 0.038) to 4.72% (95% CI: 1.43-8.12%,t = 6.215,P = 0.025). However, no inflection points were observed in the best-fit models for rural boys and girls during the period 1985-2019. The prevalence of overweight and obesity for both urban and rural boys is expected to converge at 35.76% by approximately 2027. Behavioural inhibition is a biologically based risk factor for anxiety *** with behavioural inhibition are shy,cautious and avoidant of new *** research on behavioural inhibition has focused on the amygdala as an underlying neural substrate and has identified differences in amygdala function and volume;however,amygdala findings have yet to lead to meaningful interventions for prevention or treatment of anxiety *** bed nucleus of the stria terminalis(BNST)is a prime candidate to be a neural substrate of behavioural inhibition,given current evidence of BNST function and development in human research and animal *** with behavioural inhibition have an increased startle response to safety cues and an increased cortisol response to social evaluative situations,both of which are mediated by the *** rodents,activation of the BNST underlies contextual fear responses and responses to uncertain and sustained ***-human primates with anxious temperament(the macaque equivalent of behavioural inhibition)have increased BNST activity to ambiguous social situations,and activity of the BNST in anxious temperament is significantly ***,the BNST is sexually dimorphic and continues to develop into adulthood,paralleling the development of anxiety disorders in ***,these findings suggest that further investigation of the BNST in behavioural inhibition is necessary and may lead to new avenues for the prevention and treatment of anxiety disorders.

AIM To investigate suicidality and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder(ADHD), this paper aims to systematically review the literature as an extension of previous *** We searched five databases(Ovid MEDLINE, Psychinfo, PubM ed, Scopus, Web of Science) with two categories of search terms:(1) suicide; suicidal; suicide behavior; suicide attempt; suicidal thought; and(2) ADHD. RESULTS The search resulted 26 articles. There is a positive association between ADHD and suicidality in both sexes and in all age groups. Comorbid disorders mediate between suicidality and ADHD. CONCLUSION Recognizing ADHD, comorbid conditions and suicidality is important in prevention.

Background Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)is one of the most frequently diagnosed psychiatric conditions in children and *** the symptoms appear to be well described,no coherent conceptual mechanistic framework integrates their occurrence and variance and the associated problems that people with ADHD *** The current study proposes that altered event segmentation processes provide a novel mechanistic framework for understanding deficits in *** adolescents with ADHD and neurotypically developing(NT)peers watched a short movie and were then asked to indicate the boundaries between meaningful segments of the *** recorded electroencephalography(EEG)data were analysed for differences in frequency band activity and effective connectivity between brain *** Compared with their NT peers,the ADHD group showed less dependence of their segmentation behaviour on social information,indicating that they did not consider social information to the same extent as their unaffected *** divergence was accompanied by differences in EEG theta band activity and a different effective connectivity network architecture at the source ***,NT adolescents primarily showed error signalling in and between the left and right fusiform gyri related to social information processing,which was not the case in the ADHD *** the ADHD group,the inferior frontal cortex associated with attentional sampling served as a hub instead,indicating problems in the deployment of attentional *** This study shows that adolescents with ADHD perceive events differently from their NT peers,in association with a different brain network architecture that reflects less adaptation to the situation and problems in attentional sampling of environmental *** results call for a novel conceptual view of ADHD,based on event segmentation theory.
