The corrosion behavior of 907 steel under thin electrolyte layer(TEL) has been investigated by means of cathodic polarization curve measurement, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The results show that the cathodic diffusion current density presents the variation trend of initial increase and subsequent decrease with the decrease of TEL thickness, and the maximum deposits at 58 μm. The cotangent-hyperbolic impedance(O) is rationally first introduced to study the diffusion process of the reactants through the corrosion products layer with many permeable holes. The initial corrosion rate of 907 steel under different TEL thickness increases with the decrease of TEL thickness except that of 104 μm,whereas the corrosion rate after long time corrosion can be ranked as 104 μm﹥402 μm﹥198 μm﹥301 μm﹥bulk solution.

Compact-like discrete breathers in discrete one-dimensional monatomic chains are investigated by discussing a generalized discrete one-dimensional monatomic model. It is proven that compact-like discrete breathers exist not only in soft Ф^4 potential but also in hard Ф^4 potential and K4 chains. The measurements of compact-like discrete breathers＇ core in soft and hard Ф^4 potential are determined by coupling parameter K4, while the measurements of compact-like discrete breathers＇ core in K4 chains are not related to coupling parameter K4. The stabilities of compact-like discrete breathers correlate closely to coupling parameter K4 and the boundary condition of lattice.

Two-dimensional compact-like discrete breathers in discrete two-dimensional monatomic square lattices are investigated by discussing a generalized discrete two-dimensional monatomic model. It is proven that the two- dimensional compact-like discrete breathers exist not only in two-dimensional soft Φ4 potentials but also in hard two-dimensional Φ4 potentials and pure two-dimensional K4 lattices. The measurements of the two-dimensional compact-like discrete breather cores in soft and hard two-dimensional Φ4 potential are determined by coupling parameter K4, while those in pure two-dimensional K4 lattices have no coupling with parameter K4. The stabilities of the two-dimensional compact-like discrete breathers correlate closely to the coupling parameter K4 and the boundary condition of lattices.

Multi-site compact-like discrete breathers in discrete one-dimensional monatomic chains are investigated by discussing a generalized discrete one-dimensional monatomic model. We obtain that the two-site compact-like discrete breathers with codes σ = （0,..., 0, 1, 1, 0,..., 0）and codes σ= （0,..., 0, 1, -1, 0, ..., 0） can exist in discrete one-dimensional monatomic chain with quartic on-site and inter-site potentials. However, the former can only exist in hard quartic on-site potential and cannot exist in soft quartic on-site potential, whereas the latter is just reversed. A11 of the two-site Compact-like discrete breathers with codes σ = （0,..., 0, 1, 1, 0,..., 0） and σ （0,... ,0, 1, -1,0,... ,0} cannot exist in a pure K4 chain.

The dried fruits of the plant Forsythia suspensa(Forsythia Fructus: Lianqiao in Chinese) are used in many herbal preparations to treat various diseases or the associated symptoms. Forsythia extracts contain phenylethanoid glycosides(Ph Gs) such as the forsythosides(Fst A-to-P). The leading products, Fst-A,-B and-F(arenarioside), can be found also in >90 other plants inventoried here. The pharmacological properties of Fst are reviewed, with emphasis on their anticancer, antiviral, and antibacterial activities, which essentially derive from their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Fst-B functions as a potential binder of the repressor protein Kelch-like ECH-association protein 1(Keap 1), thus promoting the nuclear translocation of the transcription factor Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2) implicated in the subsequent activation of the production of antioxidant enzymes and repression of the oxidative stress. The regulation of the Nrf2/Heme oxygenase-1 pathway is the central piece of the multifaceted mechanism of action of Fst-A/B. Their prominent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects support the use of these compounds in different inflammation-related diseases and conditions, from sepsis to neuroprotection and many other pathologies discussed here. In addition, these properties contribute to the antiviral action of the compounds. Fst-A/B displays activities against the influenza A virus and different Fst-containing traditional Chinese medicinal(TCMs) have revealed beneficial effects to combat the current COVID-19 pandemic. The mechanisms whereby Fst-A/B could inhibit viral multiplication are discussed. Ph Gs likely contribute to the anti-COVID-19 activities reported with several TCM such as Shuang-Huang-Lian oral liquid, Lianhua-Qingwen capsules, and others. This review highlights the pharmacological profile of Fst and illustrates health benefits associated with the use of Forsythia Fructus.

A general one-dimensional discrete monatomic model is investigated by using the multiple-method. It is proven that the discrete bright breathers （DBBs） and discrete dark breathers （DDBs） exist in this model at the anti-continuous limit, and then the concrete models of the DBBs and DDBs are also presented by the multiple-scale approach （MSA） and the quasi-discreteness approach （QDA）. When the results are applied to some particular models, the same conclusions as those presented in corresponding references are achieved. In addition, we use the method of the linearization analysis to investigate this system without the high order terms of ε. It is found that the DBBs and DDBs are linearly stable only when coupling parameter χ is small, of which the limited value is obtained by using an analytical method.

Terpyridine-capped poly（ethylene glycol）（PEG） was synthesized as a novel polymeric ligand and rare earth complex was prepared from Eu（NO3）3 and the telechelic macromolecules. The structure of the complex was characterized by 1H NMR, FT-IR, UV-vis and fluores-cence spectroscopy. Strong fluorescent emission of the complex was observed at 593 and 616 nm upon the excitation of 300 nm. The fluo-rescent emission was quenched upon addition of trace amount of diethyl chlorophosphate （DCP）. And the observed Ksv values for DCP were measured to be 0.568×10^3 and 0.89×10^3 L/mol for quenching at 593 and 616 nm, which indicated the detection limit for DCP was about 0.014 mmol/L. These results showed that the terpyridine-lanthanide complex could be an effective chemosensor with a potential application in the detection of organophosphates.

The quasi-one-dimensional nonlinear monoatomic lattice is analyzed. The kink-soliton and antikink-soliton are presented. When the interaction of the lattice is strong in the x-direction and weak in the y-direction, the two-dimensional (2D) lattice changes to a quasi-one-dimensional lattice. Taking nearest-neighbor interaction into account, the vibration equation can be transformed into the KPI, KPII and MKP equation. Considering the cubic nonlinear potential of the vibration in the lattice, the kink-soliton solution is presented. Considering the quartic nonlinear potential and the cubic interaction potential, the kink-soliton and antikink-soliton solutions are presented.

This works presents the first fully validated and predictive capability to model the V_0-V_(100) probabilistic penetration response of a woven fabric using a yarn-level fabric finite element model. The V_0-V_(100) curve describes the probability of complete fabric penetration as a function of projectile impact velocity. The exemplar case considered in this paper comprises of a single-layer, fully-clamped, plain-weave Kevlar fabric impacted at the center by a 17-gr, 0.22 cal FSP or fragment-simulating projectile. Each warp and fill yarn in the fabric is individually modeled using 3 D finite elements and the virtual fabric microstructure is validated in detail against the experimental fabric microstructure. Material and testing sources of statistical variability including yarn strength and modulus, inter-yarn friction, precise projectile impact location, and projectile rotation are mapped into the finite element model. A series of impact simulations at varying projectile impact velocities is executed using LS-DYNA on the fabric models, with each model comprising unique mappings. The impact velocities together with the outcomes(penetration, nonpenetration) are used to generate the numerical V_0-V_(100) curve which is then validated against the experimental V_0-V_(100) curve. The numerical Vi-Vrdata(impact, residual velocities) is also validated against the experimental Vi-Vrdata. For completeness, this paper also reports the experimental characterization data and its statistical analysis used for model input, viz. the Kevlar yarn tensile strengths, moduli, and inter-yarn friction, and the experimental ballistic test data used for model validation.
