A passively Q-switched Nd^3＋：YAG laser with corner cube is theoretically and experimentally studied, We analyze the polarization variation in cavity and simulate the peak power, pulse energy and pulse width changed with the rotation angle of corner cube numerically, An experiment is made to verify the theoretical results. With rotating the angle of corner cube about the axis the variation range of peak power is 1,77 MW （from 10.36 to 8.59 MW）, and that of pulse energy is 14.9 mJ （from 159.5 to 174.4 mJ）, the fluctuation of pulse width is 2.95 ns. The experimental results agree with the theoretical analysis to the extent of variation rules. The most dynamic to static energy ratio of 62.5% is achieved.

Ground military target recognition plays a crucial role in unmanned equipment and grasping the battlefield dynamics for military applications, but is disturbed by low-resolution and noisyrepresentation. In this paper, a recognition method, involving a novel visual attention mechanismbased Gabor region proposal sub-network(Gabor RPN) and improved refinement generative adversarial sub-network(GAN), is proposed. Novel central-peripheral rivalry 3D color Gabor filters are proposed to simulate retinal structures and taken as feature extraction convolutional kernels in low-level layer to improve the recognition accuracy and framework training efficiency in Gabor RPN. Improved refinement GAN is used to solve the problem of blurry target classification, involving a generator to directly generate large high-resolution images from small blurry ones and a discriminator to distinguish not only real images vs. fake images but also the class of targets. A special recognition dataset for ground military target, named Ground Military Target Dataset(GMTD), is constructed. Experiments performed on the GMTD dataset effectively demonstrate that our method can achieve better energy-saving and recognition results when low-resolution and noisy-representation targets are involved, thus ensuring this algorithm a good engineering application prospect.

Water pollution affects plants and organisms living in these bodies of water; and, in almost all cases the effect is damaging not only to individual species and populations, but also to the natural biological communities. Genetic algorithm and kernel partial least square （GA-KPLS） and Levenberg- Marquardt artificial neural network （L-M ANN） techniques were used to investigate the correlation between retention time （tR） and descriptors for 150 organic contaminants in natural water and wastewater, which are obtained by gas chromatography coupled to high-resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometry （GC-TOF MS）. The L-M ANN model gave a significantly better performance than the GA-KPLS model. This indicates that L-M ANN can be used as an alternative modeling toot for quantitative structure-retention relationship （QSRR） studies.

A new real-time underwater equipment location method adopting an electric field induced by a standard current source is *** goals were real-time tracking and location of stationary or moving underwater equipment both in shallow and deep seas,under noisy *** main features of this method are as follows:(1)a standard current source on the water surface,which can be towed by a vehicle,consisting of two electrodes,a signal generator,and a GPS unit;(2)measurement of the extremely low frequency(ELF)electric field emitted by the current source,made possible by electric field sensors on the underwater equipment;(3)position of the underwater equipment is estimated in real time based on a progressive update extended Kalman filter(PUEKF),which is carried out using the propagation model of an ELF electric field because the electric field at the position of the underwater equipment and the current source position are *** verified the accuracy of our method and confirmed real-time location feasibility through numerical,physical scale,and real-time sea *** numerical experiments,we verified that our method works for underwater equipment location in real-world conditions,and the location error can be less than 0.2 ***,real-time location experiments for stationary underwater measuring equipment in water tank were *** result shows that the location error can be less than 0.1 *** also confirmed real-time location feasibility through the use of offshore *** expect that our method will complement conventional underwater acoustic location methods for underwater equipment in acoustically noisy environments.

The tokamak simulation code （TSC） is employed to simulate the complete evolution of a disruptive discharge in the experimental advanced superconducting tokamak. The multiplication factor of the anomalous transport coefficient was adjusted to model the major disruptive discharge with double-null divertor configuration based on shot 61 916. The real-time feed-back control system for the plasma displacement was employed. Modeling results of the evolution of the poloidal field coil currents, the plasma current, the major radius, the plasma configuration all show agreement with experimental measurements. Results from the simulation show that during disruption, heat flux about 8 MW m-2 flows to the upper divertor target plate and about 6 MW m-2 flows to the lower divertor target plate. Computations predict that different amounts of heat fluxes on the divertor target plate could result by adjusting the multiplication factor of the anomalous transport coefficient. This shows that TSC has high flexibility and predictability.

The past 50 years witnessed steadily increasing pressures to reduce animal testing in assessing the safety of chemicals and ***,the major concerns were ethical due to the large numbers of animals used in these *** European Union(EU) has maintained this strong emphasis on ethics,enacting reduction/elimination of animals for much toxicity testing into *** North America, there was a realization that a regulatory system layering in-life study on in-life study was costly,expensive and slow:there were too many chemicals requiring testing and too few resources to get the testing *** US Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) proactively developed plans for increased use of computational and molecular/cellular technologies in their computational toxicology framework paper in 2004.A US National Academy of sciences(NAS) committee in 2007 then recommended a new testing strategy that would require only in vitro test *** past 5 to 6 years has seen the completion of early phases of high throughput(HT) screening,appearance of new methods for comparing in vitro bioactivity results with anticipated human exposures,and a flurry of activity-research,scientific meetings, and product commercialization-to hasten change from in life *** talk emphasizes a group of initiatives to make in vitro test results sufficient for safety assessment and notes some of the looming challenges. Objective： To understand the druggability of the bioactive compounds from traditional herbal formulations ＂Nilavembu Kudineer＂ and ＂Swasthya Raksha Amruta Peya＂ to heal chikungunya virus （CHIKV） infection. Methods： The efficiency of twenty novel chemical entities from ＂Nilavembu Kudineer＂ and ＂Swasthya Raksha Amruta Peya＂ to inhibit CHIKV infection in silico were evaluated. Ligands were prepared using Ligprep module of Schr0dinger. Active site was identified using SiteMap program. Grid box was generated using receptor grid generation wizard. Molecular docking was carried out using Grid Based Ligand Docking with Energetics （GLIDE） program. Results： Molecular docking studies showed that among twenty compounds, andrographoside, deoxyandrographoside, neoandrographolide, 14-deoxy-11-oxoandrographolide, butoxone and oleanolic acid showed GLIDE extra precision （XP） score of-9.10,-8.72, -8.25,-7.38,-7.28 and -7.01, respectively which were greater than or comparable with chloroquine （reference compound） XP score （-7.08） and were found to interact with the key residues GLLI 1043, LYS 1045, GLY 1176, LEU 1203, HIS 1222 and LYS 1239 which were characteristic functional unit crucial for replication of CHIKV. Conclusion： The binding affinity and the binding mode of chemical entities taken from herbal formulations with non-structural protein 2 protease were understood and our study provided a novel strategy in the development and design of drugs for CHIKV infection.

Research on acupuncture has been muddled by attempts to bridge the ancient with the modern. Barriers to effectiveness research are reflected in recurring conflicts that include disagreement on use of the most basic terms, lack of standard intervention controls, and the absence of functional measures for assessing treatment effect. Acupuncture research has stalled at the ＂placebo barrier＇ wherein acupuncture is ＂no better than placebo.＂ The most widely recognized comparative effectiveness research in acupuncture does not compare acupuncture treatment protocols within groups, thereby, mutating large scale effectiveness studies into large scale efficacy trials. Too often research in acupuncture attempts to tie outcomes to traditional belief systems thereby limiting usefulness of the research. The acupuncture research paradigm needs to focus more closely on a scientific definition of treatments and outcomes that compare protocols in terms of prevalent clinical issues such as relative effectiveness for treating pain.
