LMR-CBT: learning modality-fused representations with CB-Transformer for multimodal emotion recognition from unaligned multimodal sequences

Learning modality-fused representations and processing unaligned multimodal sequences are meaningful and challenging in multimodal emotion *** approaches use directional pairwise attention or a message hub to fuse language,visual,and audio ***,these fusion methods are often quadratic in complexity with respect to the modal sequence length,bring redundant information and are not *** this paper,we propose an efficient neural network to learn modality-fused representations with CB-Transformer(LMR-CBT)for multimodal emotion recognition from unaligned multi-modal ***,we first perform feature extraction for the three modalities respectively to obtain the local structure of the ***,we design an innovative asymmetric transformer with cross-modal blocks(CB-Transformer)that enables complementary learning of different modalities,mainly divided into local temporal learning,cross-modal feature fusion and global self-attention *** addition,we splice the fused features with the original features to classify the emotions of the ***,we conduct word-aligned and unaligned experiments on three challenging datasets,IEMOCAP,CMU-MOSI,and *** experimental results show the superiority and efficiency of our proposed method in both *** with the mainstream methods,our approach reaches the state-of-the-art with a minimum number of parameters.

Impact on Soil Organic C and Total Soil N from Cool- and Warm-Season Legumes Used in a Green Manure-Forage Cropping System

Annual forage legumes are important components of livestock production systems in East Texas and the southeastern US. Forage legumes contribute nitrogen (N) to cropping systems through biological N fixation, and their seasonal biomass production can be managed to complement forage grasses. Our research objectives were to evaluate both warm- and cool-season annual forage legumes as green manure for biomass, N content, ability to enhance soil organic carbon (SOC) and soil N, and impact on post season forage grass crops. Nine warm-season forage legumes (WSL) were spring planted and incorporated as green manure in the fall. Forage rye (Secale cereale L.) was planted following the incorporation of WSL treatments. Eight cool-season forage legumes (CSL) were fall planted in previously fallow plots and incorporated as green manure in late spring. Sorghum-sudangrass (Sorghum bicolor x Sorghum bicolor var. sudanense) was planted over all treatments in early summer after forage rye harvest and incorporation of CSL treatments. Sorghum-sudangrass was harvested in June, August and September, and treatments were evaluated for dry matter and N concentration. Soil cores were taken from each plot, split into depths of 0 to 15, 15 to 30 and 30 to 60 cm, and soil C and N were measured using combustion analysis. Nylon mesh bags containing plant samples were buried at 15 cm and used to evaluate decomposition rate of above ground legume biomass, including change in C and N concentrations. Mungbean (Vigna radiata L. [Wilczek]) had the highest shoot biomass yield (6.24 t DM ha-1) and contributed the most total N (167 kg∙ha-1) and total C (3043 kg∙ha-1) of the WSL tested. Decomposition rate of WSL biomass was rapid in the first 10 weeks and very slow afterward. Winter pea (Pisum sativum L. spp. sativum), arrow leaf clover (Trifolium vesiculosum Savi.), and crimson clover (Trifolium incarnatum L.) were the most productive CSL in this trial. By pushing computation,cache,and network control to the edge,mobile edge computing(MEC)is expected to play a leading role in fifth generation(5G)and future sixth generation(6G).Nevertheless,facing ubiquitous fast-growing computational demands,it is impossible for a single MEC paradigm to effectively support high-quality intelligent services at end user equipments(UEs).To address this issue,we propose an air-ground collaborative MEC(AGCMEC)architecture in this *** proposed AGCMEC integrates all potentially available MEC servers within air and ground in the envisioned 6G,by a variety of collaborative ways to provide computation services at their best for ***,we introduce the AGC-MEC architecture and elaborate three typical use ***,we discuss four main challenges in the AGC-MEC as well as their potential ***,we conduct a case study of collaborative service placement for AGC-MEC to validate the effectiveness of the proposed collaborative service placement ***,we highlight several potential research directions of the AGC-MEC.

In this study,a bioinspired hierarchical structure was formed with superomniphobicity on a 7075 aluminium alloy using laser *** morphology and wetting characteristics of the biomimetic sample surface were characterised using scanning electron microscopy,laser confocal microscopy,and contact angle *** effect of the liquid properties and surface structures on the rolling behaviour was *** results suggest that the fabricated biomimetic sample surface was a hierarchical *** prepared sample had superomniphobicity and low adhesion properties,and the contact angles of six different liquid droplets on the sample surface reached or approached 150°.Specifically,the largest contact angle was 152°,and the average rolling angle was 7.7°.This multi-hydrophobic surface provides a valuable reference for the research study and use of a variety of solid–liquid contacts.

Axisymmetric wave propagation in gas shear flow confined by a rigid-walled pipeline

The axisymmetric acoustic wave propagating in a perfect gas with a shear pipeline flow confined by a circular rigid wail is investigated. The governing equations of non-isentropic and isentropic acoustic assumptions are mathematically deduced while the constraint of Zwikker and Kosten is relaxed. An iterative method based on the Fourier-Bessel theory is proposed to semi-anaiyticaily solve the proposed models. A comparison of numerical results with literature contributions validates the present contribution. Meanwhile, the features of some high-order transverse modes, which cannot be analyzed based on the Zwikker and Kosten theory, are anaiyzed

Energy efficiency maximization for buffer-aided multi-UAV relaying communications

This paper studies a multiple unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)relaying communication system,where multiple UAV re-lays assist the blocked communication between a group of ground users(GUs)and a base station(BS).Since the UAVs only have limited-energy in practice,our design aims to maximize the energy efficiency(EE)through jointly designing the communica-tion scheduling,the transmit power allocation,as well as UAV trajectory under the buffer constraint over a given flight ***,the formulated fractional optimization problem is diffi-cult to be solved in general because of *** re-solve this difficulty,an efficient iterative algorithm is proposed based on the block coordinate descent(BCD)and successive convex approximation(SCA)techniques,as well as the Dinkel-bach’s ***,the optimization variables of the formulated problem are divided into three blocks and we alter-nately optimize each block of the variables over ***-cal results verify the convergence of the proposed iterative al-gorithm and show that the proposed designs achieve significant EE gain,which outperform other benchmark schemes.

Flow aeroacoustic damping using coupled mechanical electrical impedance in lined pipeline

We report a new noise-damping concept which utilizes a coupled mechanical-electrical acoustic impedance to attenuate an aeroacoustic wave propagating in a moving gas confined by a cylindrical pipeline. An electrical damper is incorporated to the mechanical impedance, either through the piezoelectric, electrostatic, or electro-magnetic principles. Our numerical study shows the advantage of the proposed methodology on wave attenuation. With the development of the micro-electro-mechanical system and material engineering, the proposed configuration may be promising for noise reduction.

Estimation of key rate after setting dead time

The estimation of key rate is an important aspect of the quantum key distribution process, especially in the use of dead time. In this paper, we demonstrate a numerical simulation to estimate the average detection probability and the key rate. Using our method, the estimated average detection probability is better than the previous result. Besides, we can easily find the best dead time, especially when considering the impact of after pulse.

Dye-sensitized Solar Cells with Higher J_(sc) by Using Polyvinylidene Fluoride Membrane Counter Electrodes

A flexible counter electrode(CE) for dye-sensitized solar cells(DSCs) has been fabricated using a micro-porous polyvinylidene fluoride membrane as support media and sputtered Pt as the catalytic ***-conventional structure DSCs have been developed by the fabricated CEs. The Pt metal was sputtered onto one surface of the membrane as the catalytic material. DSCs were assembled by attaching the Ti O2 electrode to the membrane surface without Pt coating. The membrane was with cylindrical pore geometry. It served not only as a substrate for the CE but also as a spacer for the DSC. The fabricated DSC with the flexible membrane CE showed higher photocurrent density than the conventional sandwich devices based on chemically deposited Pt/FTO glass, achieving a photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 4.43%. The results provides useful information in investigation and development of stable, low-cost, simple-design, flexible and lightweight DSCs.
