co.seismic landslide detection is essential for post-disaster rescue and risk assessment after an earthquake ***,a variety of ground objects,including roads and bare land,have spectral characteristics similar to those of co.seismic landslides,making it difficult to gather information and assess their impact rapidly and ***,an automatic detection method based on a deep learning model,named ENVINet5,with multiple features(ENVINet5_MF)was proposed to solve this problem and improve the detection accuracy of co.seismic *** ENVINet5_MF method is advantageous for co.seismic landslide detection because it features a landslide gain index(LGI)that effectively eliminates the spectral interference of bare land and *** co.ducted two experiments using multi-temporal PlanetSco.e images acquired in Hokkaido,Japan,and Mainling,*** accuracy evaluation and rationality analysis show that ENVINet5_MF performed better than co.parative methods and that the co.seismic landslide areas detected by ENVINet5_MF were the most co.sistent with ground reference *** findings of this study suggest that ENVINet5_MF can provide an efficient and accurate method for co.eismic landslide detection to ensure a rapid response to co.seismic landslide disasters.

Seasonal thermal energy storage(STES)allows storing heat for long-term and thus promotes the shifting of waste heat resources from summer to winter to decarbonize the district heating(DH)*** being a promising solution for sustainable energy system,large-scale STES for urban regions is lacking due to the relatively high initial investment and extensive land *** close the gap,this study assesses the potentials of using two naturally available structures for STES,namely valley and ground pit *** on geographical information system(GIS)methods,the available locations are searched from digital elevation model and selected co.sidering several criteria from land uses and construction *** co.ts of dams to impound the reservoir and the yielded storage capacities are then quantified to guide the choice of suitable *** assessment is co.ducted for the northern China where DH systems and significant seasonal differences of energy demand *** total,2,273 valley sites and 75 ground pit sites are finally identified with the energy storage capacity of 15.2 billion GJ,which is much larger than the existing DH demand in northern *** results also prove that 682 valley sites can be achieved with a dam co.t lower than 20 CNY/m^(3).By co.ducting sensitivity analysis on the design dam wall height and elevations,the choices of available natural structures are expanded but practical issues about water pressures and constructions are also ***,the identified sites are geographically mapped with nearest urban regions to reveal their roles in the DH *** general,560 urban regions are found with potential STES units and most of them have STES storage capacities larger than their own DH *** novel planning methodology of this study and publicly available datasets create possibilities for the implementations of large-scale STES in urban DH systems.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)are used to relieve and refuel anti-tumor immunity by blocking the interaction,transcription,and translation of co.inhibitory immune checkpoints or degrading co.inhibitory immune *** of small molecule drugs or biological materials,especially antibody-based ICIs,are actively being studied and antibodies are currently widely ***,such as anti-tumor efficacy,poor membrane permeability,and unneglected tolerance issues of antibody-based ICIs,remain evident but are thought to be overco.e by small molecule *** structural studies have broadened the sco.e of candidate immune checkpoint molecules,as well as innovative chemical *** way of co.parison,small molecule drug-based ICIs represent superior oral bioavailability and favorable pharmaco.inetic *** ongoing clinical trials are exploring the synergetic effect of ICIs and other therapeutic strategies based on multiple ICI functions,including immune regulation,anti-angiogenesis,and cell cycle *** this review we summarized the current progression of small molecule ICIs and the mechanism underlying immune checkpoint proteins,which will lay the foundation for further exploration.

Current state and future perspectives of sewer networks in urban China

Chinese authorities and the public have largely ignored sewer networks; however, various problems are emerging nationwide with the increase construction of new sewers. The current state of sewer network construction, administration, and maintenance in China is co.prehensively reviewed in this study. Serving about 444 million people, 511,200 km of sewer lines are located in urban areas. In 2014,$7 billion was invested in sewer network construction. However, both the sewer pervasion rate and the per capita sewer length were significantly lower than those in developed co.ntries. Sewer administrative agencies in local governments are unco.rdinated. Laws, regulations, and standards are inco.plete, and some practices are unscientific. The future situation of sewer maintenance is extremely grim because sewer co.rosion co.trol measures have not been launched. Moreover, inspection and rehabilitation chiefly rely on traditional approaches. In co.trast, the overall market share of innovative technologies is very low owing to high co.t, funds shortage, and technical limitations. Approaches such-as liner inversion cured-in-place pipe, pull-in ultraviolet light cured liners, and spiral wound lining are applied mostly in eco.omically developed regions. Acco.ding to status and problem analyses, China＇s top priority will be to co.duct aggressive maintenance work in sewer networks in the future. New technical route, co.rosion co.trol - periodic visualized inspection - trenchless rehabilitation, co.ld be the best option for future sewer maintenance in China. Instmctions and opportunities for applying this technical route are discussed in detail in this study. *** factors in the development of sewer networks in China are suggested.

Understanding the responses of precipitation extremes to global climate change remains limited owing to their poor representations in models and co.plicated interactions with multi-scale *** we take the reco.d-breaking precipitation over China in 2021 as an example,and study its changes under three different climate scenarios through a developed pseudo-global-warming(PGW)experimental framework with 60-3 km variable-resolution global ensemble *** to the present climate,the precipitation extreme under a warmer(co.ler)climate increased(decreased)in intensity,co.erage,and total amount at a range of 24.3%-37.8%(18.7%-56.1%).With the help of the proposed PGW experimental framework,we further reveal the impacts of the multi-scale system interactions in climate change on the precipitation *** the warmer climate,large-scale water vapor transport co.verged from double typhoons and the subtropical high marched into central China,enhancing the co.vective energy and instability on the leading edge of the transport *** a result,the mesoscale co.vective system(Mcs)that directly co.tributed to the precipitation extreme became stronger than that in the present *** the co.trary,the co.ler climate displayed opposite changing characteristics relative to the warmer climate,ranging from the large-scale systems to local environments and to the *** summary,our study provides a promising approach to scientifically assess the response of precipitation extremes to climate change,making it feasible to perform ensemble simulations while investigating the multi-scale system interactions over the globe.
