Advanced glycation end-products(AGEs)are a group of heterogeneous co.pounds formed in heatprocessed foods and are proven to be detrimental to human ***,there is no co.prehensive database for AGEs in foods that co.ers the entire range of food categories,which limits the accurate risk assessment of dietary AGEs in human *** this study,we first established an isotope dilution UHPLCQq Q-MS/MS-based method for simultaneous quantification of 10 major AGEs in *** co.tents of these AGEs were detected in 334 foods co.ering all main groups co.sumed in Western and Chinese populations.Nε-Carboxymethyllysine,methylglyoxal-derived hydroimidazolone isomers,and glyoxal-derived hydroimidazolone-1 are predominant AGEs found in most *** amounts of AGEs were high in processed nuts,bakery products,and certain types of cereals and meats(>150 mg/kg),while low in dairy products,vegetables,fruits,and beverages(co.tribution of food groups to daily AGE intake varied a lot under different eating patterns,and selection of high-AGE foods leads to up to a 2.7-fold higher intake of AGEs through daily *** presented AGE database allows accurate assessment of dietary exposure to these glyco.oxins to explore their physiological impacts on human health.

The main cable bent around the saddle of the suspension bridge is subjected to the wind,the vehicle,the bridge’s own weight and the co.rosive *** co.pling of the three loads and the environments causes the friction,the co.rosion,and the fatigue(tribo-co.rosion-fatigue)among the wires inside the main *** this paper,a wire bending tribo-co.rosion-fatigue test rig was designed and *** effect of fatigue load on the bending friction behaviors between the cable wires in ultrapure water and 3.5%NaCl solution was *** tribological properties and electrochemical co.rosion behaviors under different fatigue loading ranges were *** tribo-co.rosion-fatigue interaction between the cable wires was quantitatively characterized,and the mechanism of the interaction was *** results demonstrate that the increasing fatigue load exacerbates the co.pling damage of the cable wires attributed to the enhanced *** findings carry theoretical importance when assessing the main cable’s deterioration and the load-bearing safety of a suspension bridge.

Bear bile has been a valuable and effective medicinal material in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)for over 13 ***,the current practice of obtaining it through bear farming is under scrutiny for its adverse impact on bear ***,we present a new approach for creating artificial bear bile(ABB)as a high-quality and sustainable alternative to natural bear *** study addresses the scientific challenges of creating bear bile alternatives through interdisciplinary co.laborations across various fields,including resources,chemistry,biology,medicine,pharmaco.ogy,and TCM.A co.prehensive efficacy assessment system that bridges the gap between TCM and modern medical terminology has been established,allowing for the systematic screening of therapeutic *** the utilization of chemical synthesis and enzyme engineering technologies,our research has achieved the environmentally friendly,large-scale production of bear bile therapeutic co.pounds,as well as the optimization and reco.position of ABB *** resulting ABB not only closely resembles natural bear bile in its co.position but also offers advantages such as co.sistent product quality,availability of raw materials,and independence from threatened or wild *** preclinical efficacy evaluations have demonstrated the equivalence of the therapeutic effects from ABB and those from co.mercially available drained bear bile(DBB).Furthermore,preclinical toxico.ogical assessment and phase I clinical trials show that the safety of ABB is on par with that of the currently used *** innovative strategy can serve as a new research paradigm for developing alternatives for other endangered TCMs,thereby strengthening the integrity and sustainability of TCM.

Although addition of β-nucleating agent directly into homo-polypropylene （PPH） is a useful method to improve ,β-crystal co.tent and toughen PPH, polypropylene random co.olymer （PPR） makes this method powerless due to its random structure and low crystallinity. In this study, the β-nucleated PPR with high β-crystal co.tent was prepared by a novel high effective β-nucleating system which co.sists of β-nucleation agent （TMB-5） and modified zeolite 13X （M13X）. It was found that M13X and TMB-5 had a synergistic influence on improving β-crystal co.tent and toughening PPR. The co.tent of β-crystal in PPR/M13X/TMB-5 was significantly larger than the sum of that in PPR/M13X and PPR/TMB-5. Besides, fracture behavior, phase morphology and relaxation of matrix chain segments were also investigated. The results showed that M13X and TMB-5 improved the mobility of amorphous chain segments at low temperature and co.tributed to much energy dissipation. This work provides a powerful method to modify PPR.

Thermal insulation design for efficient and scalable solar water interfacial evaporation and purification

In recent years, solar desalination and water evaporation/purification with various artificial architectures have drawn significant attention. Herein, we introduce a rational design structure for efficient solar water evaporation and purification, focusing on the balance between water transportation and thermal *** wood after a simple flame treatment on the surface was utilized as the solar absorber, with a high solar absorbance(~90 %), good hydrophilicity, and excellent heat localization abilities. Besides,a thermal insulator(polystyrene foam) was used to further reduce the thermal loss, and the optimized ratio between the water path and thermal insulator was obtained. A set of floating foam-flamed-wood(F-F-wood) devices were fabricated with a high evaporation rate of 3.92 kgm-2 h-1, exhibiting photothermal purification abilities from seawater and wastewater co.taining organic dyes and heavy metals. This study sheds light on the rational design of scalable and low-co.t devices for solar water evaporation and purification.

co.2 sensing properties and mechanism of PrFeO_3 and NdFeO_3 thick film sensor

The co.2 sensing of PrFeO_3 and NdFeO_3 sensors were investigated. Experimental results show that the resistances for PrFeO_3 and NdFeO_3 in co.2 gas are larger than those in air and the responses for PrFeO_3and NdFeO_3 sensors increase with an increase in room-temperature relative humidity. When exposed to1000 ppm co.2, the response of PrFeO_3 thick film based on nano-powders annealed at 700℃can reach8.44 at 160℃for the background of wet air with 58%of room-temperature relative humidity (RH),which is much larger than the co.responding value (3.03) in wet air with 25%RH. The sensing response S of NdFeO_3 thick-film sensor based on nano-powders annealed at 600℃to 3000 ppm co.2 at the operating temperature 200℃can reach 2.36 for the background of wet air with 72%RH, which is larger than the co.responding value (1.83) in the air with 25%RH. co.pared with other co.2 sensing materials, the PrFeO_3 sensor has larger response at lower operating temperature for co.2 gas and may be used as a new co.2 sensing material.

Reaction kinetics of isopropyl palmitate synthesis

In this study, the kinetics of isopropyl palmitate synthesis including the reaction mechanism was studied based on the two-step noncatalytic method. The liquid-phase diffusion effect on the reaction process was eliminated by adjusting the stirring rate. The results showed that the two-step reaction followed a tetrahedral mechanism and co.formed to seco.d-order reaction kinetics. Nucleophilic attack on the carbonyl carbon afforded an intermediate, co.taining a tetrahedral carbon center. The intermediate ultimately deco.posed by elimination of the leaving group, affording isopropyl palmitate. The experimental data were analyzed at different temperatures by the integral method. The kinetic equations of the each step were deduced, and the activation energy and frequency factor were obtained. Experiments were performed to verify the feasibility of kinetic equations, and the result showed that the kinetic equations were reliable. This study co.ld be very signi ficant to both industrial application and determining the co.tinuous production of isopropyl palmitate.

Speed Measurement Feasibility by Eddy Current Effect in the High-Speed MFL Testing

It is known that eddy current effect has a great influence on magnetic flux leakage testing(MFL).Usually,co.tacttype enco.er wheels are used to measure MFL testing speed to evaluate the effect and further co.pensate testing *** speed measurement method is co.plicated,and inevitable abrasion and occasional slippage will reduce the measurement *** order to solve this problem,based on eddy current effect due to the relative movement,a speed measurement method is proposed,which is co.tactless and *** the high-speed MFL testing,eddy current induced in the specimen will cause an obvious modification to the applied *** modified field,which is measured by Hall sensor,can be utilized to reflect the moving ***,the measurement principle is illustrated based on Faraday’s ***,dynamic finite element simulations are co.ducted to investigate the modified magnetic field ***,laboratory experiments are performed to validate the feasibility of the proposed *** results show that Bmz(r1)and Bmx(r2)have a linear relation with moving speed,which co.ld be used as an alternative measurement parameter.

co.(2)electroreduction has been regarded as an appealing strategy for renewable energy ***,bismuth(Bi)electrocatalysts have attracted much attention due to their excellent formate ***,many reported Bi electrocatalysts suffer from low current densities,which are insufficient for industrial *** reach the goal of high current co.(2)reduction to formate,we fabricate Bi nanosheets(NS)with high activity through edge/terrace co.trol and defect engineering *** NS with preferential exposure sites are obtained by topotactic transformation,and the processes are clearly monitored by in-situ Raman and ex-situ X-ray diffraction(XRD).Bi NS-1 with a high fraction of edge sites and defect sites exhibits excellent performance,and the current density is up to ca.870 mA·cm^(−2)in the flow cell,far above the industrially applicable level(100 mA·cm^(−2)),with a formate Faradaic efficiency greater than 90%.In-situ Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectra detect*OCHO,and theoretical calculations reveal that the formation energy of*OCHO on edges is lower than that on terraces,while the defects on edges further reduce the free energy changes(ΔG).The differential charge density spatial distributions reveal that the presence of defects on edges causes charge enrichment around the C–H bond,benefiting the stabilization of the*OCHO intermediate,thus remarkably lowering theΔG.

Analysis of the Impact Resistance of Photovoltaic Panels Based on the Effective Thickness Method

Based on the recent development of renewable energy utilization technology,in addition to centralized photovol-taic power plants,distributed photovoltaic power generation systems represented by building-integrated photo-voltaic systems are frequently employed for power ***,in the architectural design,the double-glass photovoltaic module used in the integrated photovoltaic building system puts forward a higher load-bearing capa-city requirement and the co.responding simplified method of carrying capacity *** article focuses on the simplified method of checking the bearing capacity of the four-sided simply supported double-glass photovoltaic ***,the principle of equivalent stiffness is used to calculate the effective ***,the rationality of this approach is verified by co.paring the bending states of sandwich panels under different shear *** double-glass photovoltaic module is equivalent to a single-layer board,and its effectiveness is verified by co.par-ing the impact test results of the double-glass photovoltaic module with the results of the single-layer *** the co.parison with the test results shows that,from the perspective of architectural design,the effective thick-ness results in this paper can ensure that the building structure has sufficient bearing capacity,but the four-side simply supported boundary theory cannot fully reflect the calculation of the bearing capacity of the four-side clamped double-glass photovoltaic module.
