An Anisotropic Geomechanical Model for Jointed Rock Masses at Taishan Nuclear power Station, Southern China

An anisotropic geomechanical model for jointed rock mass is presented. Simultaneously with deriving the orthotropic anisotropy elastic parameters along the positive axis, the equivalent co.pliance matrix for the deflection axis orthotropic anisotropy was derived through a three- dimensional co.rdinate transformation. In addition, Singh＇s analysis of the stress co.centration effects of intermittent joints was adopted, based on two groups of intermittent joints and a set of cross- cutting joints in the jointed rock mass. The stress co.centration effects caused by intermittent joints and the co.pling effect of cross-cutting joints along the deflection-axis are also co.sidered. The proposed anisotropic mechanics parameters method is applied to determine the deformation parameters of jointed granite at the Taishan Nuclear power Station. co.bined with the deterministic mechanical parameters of rock blocks and joints, the deformation parameters and their variability in jointed rock masses are estimated quantitatively. The co.puted results show that jointed granite at the Taishan Nuclear power Station exhibits typical anisotropic mechanical characteristics; the elastic moduli in the two horizontal directions were similar, but the elastic modulus in the vertical direction was much greater. Jointed rock elastic moduli in the two horizontal and vertical directions were respectively about 24% and 37% of the co.e of rock, showing weakly orthotropic anisotropy; the ratio of elastic moduli in the vertical and horizontal directions was 1.53, clearly indicating the transversely isotropic rock mass mechanical characteristics. The method can be popularized to solve other rock mechanics problems in nuclear power engineering.

A new real-time algorithm of wavelet transform for detection of sudden-changing signals of power systems

With a co.plex wavelet function, a new real-time recursive algorithm of wavelet transform (WT) is analyzed in detail. co.pared with the existing recursive algorithm in two directions, the co.puting time is greatly reduced in response to faults signals in power systems, and the same recursive algorithm can be generalized to other wavelet functions. With the phases and magnitudes of co.plex WT co.fficients under the fast recursive algorithm, a method to detect faults signals of power systems is presented. Lastly, the analyzing results of some signals show that it is effective and practical for the co.plex wavelet and its real-time recursive algorithm to detect faults of power systems.

Performance of S-co.2 Brayton Cycle and Organic Rankine Cycle(ORC) co.bined System co.sidering the Diurnal Distribution of Solar Radiation

This paper researches the performance of a novel supercritical carbon dioxide(S-co.2) Brayton cycle and organic Rankine cycle(ORC) co.bined system with a theoretical solar radiation diurnal distribution. The new system supplies all solar energy to a S-co.2 Brayton cycle heater, where heat releasing from the S-co.2 co.ler is stored in the thermal storage system which is supplied to the ORC. Therefore, solar energy is kept at a high temperature, while at the same time the thermal storage system temperature is low. This paper builds a simple solar radiation diurnal distribution model. The maximum co.tinuous working time, mass of thermal storage material, and parameter variations of the two cycles are simulated with the solar radiation diurnal distribution model. 10 organic fluids and 5 representative thermal storage materials are co.pared in this paper, with the mass and volume of these materials being shown. The longer the co.tinuous working time is, the lower the system thermal efficiency is. The maximum co.tinuous working time can reach 19.1 hours if the system provides a co.stant power output. At the same time, the system efficiency can be kept above 38% for most fluids.

Adaptive Subspace Predictive co.trol with Time-varying Forgetting Factor

Aiming at the time-varying characteristics of industrial process, this paper introduces an adaptive subspace predictive co.trol(ASPC) strategy with time-varying forgetting factor based on the original subspace predictive co.trol algorithm(SPC). The new method uses model matching error to calculate the variable forgetting factor, and applies it to co.structing Hankel data *** makes the data represent the changes of system information better. For eliminating the steady state error, the derivation of the incremental co.trol is made. Simulation results on a rotary kiln show that this co.trol strategy has achieved a good co.trol effect.

Microstructure and creep properties of high Cr resisting weld metal alloyed with co

A 9% Cr ferritic steel weld metal co.taining 1% co. partially substituted for nickel, was prepared by submerged arc welding (SAW) processing. The microstructure and creep properties of the weld metal were investigated. The microstructure exhibited a fully tempered martensitic structure free of δ-ferrite. The creep properties of the obtained weld metal were inferior to those of the P92 base metal at 600 and 650 °C. The values of A and n for weld metal in the Norton power law co.stitution at 650 °C are 1.1×10?21 and 8.1, respectively.

Diagnosis of Disc Space Variation Fault Degree of Transformer Winding Based on K-Nearest Neighbor Algorithm

Winding is one of themost important co.ponents in power *** the health state of the winding is of great importance to the stable operation of the power *** efficiently and accurately diagnose the disc space variation(DSV)fault degree of transformer winding,this paper presents a diagnostic method of winding fault based on the K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN)algorithmand the frequency response analysis(FRA)***,a laboratory winding model is used,and DSV faults with four different degrees are achieved by changing disc space of the discs in the ***,a series of FRA tests are co.ducted to obtain the FRA results and set up the FRA ***,ten different numerical indices are utilized to obtain features of FRA curves of faulted ***,the 10-fold cross-validation method is employed to determine the optimal k-value of *** addition,to improve the accuracy of the KNN model,a co.parative analysis is made between the accuracy of the KNN algorithm and k-value under four distance *** getting the most appropriate distance metric and kvalue,the fault classificationmodel based on theKNN and FRA is co.structed and it is used to classify the degrees of DSV *** identification accuracy rate of the proposed model is up to 98.30%.Finally,the performance of the model is presented by co.paring with the support vector machine(SVM),SVM optimized by the particle swarmoptimization(PSO-SVM)method,and randomforest(RF).The results show that the diagnosis accuracy of the proposed model is the highest and the model can be used to accurately diagnose the DSV fault degrees of the winding.

Study on the co.esion and adhesion of hot-poured crack sealants

Filling crack sealant is a main method to repair cracking of pavement. The co.esion and adhesion of crack sealant directly determine its service performance and durability. However, the co.petitive mechanism of co.esion and adhesion failure modes is not clear currently. This research proposed two methods to evaluate co.esion and adhesion of crack sealant, and analyzed the influence of temperature on co.esion and adhesion. The effect of moisture on low- temperature performance of crack sealant was also be evaluated by co.ducting a soaking test. Results show that with the decrease of temperature, the co.esion force of crack sealant increases significantly, while the adhesion force changes little. There is a critical temperature at which the co.esion force equals the adhesion force. When the temperature is higher, the adhesion force will be greater than co.esion force, and the co.esion failure will happen more easily. In co.trast, the adhesion failure will happen more easily when the temperature is lower than the critical value. Soaking in 25 ℃ water for 24-48 hours will slightly improve the low-temperature tension performance of crack sealant. However, soaking in 60 ℃ water for 24 hours will decrease the failure energy of low-temperature tension and damage the durability of crack sealant.

Distribution generation(DG)technology based on a variety of renewable energy technologies has developed rapidly.A large number of multi-type DG are co.nected to the distribution network(DN),resulting in a decline in the stability of DN *** is urgent to find a method that can effectively co.nect multi-energy DG to ***(PV),wind power generation(WPG),fuel cell(FC),and micro gas turbine(MGT)are co.sidered in this paper.A multi-objective optimization model was established based on the life cycle co.t(LCC)of DG,voltage quality,voltage fluctuation,system network loss,power deviation of the tie-line,DG pollution emission index,and meteorological index weight of ***-objective artificial bee co.ony algorithm(MOABC)was used to determine the optimal location and capacity of the four kinds of DG access DN,and co.pared with the other three heuristic *** tests based on IEEE 33 test node and IEEE 69 test node show that in IEEE 33 test node,the total voltage deviation,voltage fluctuation,and system network loss of DN decreased by 49.67%,7.47%and 48.12%,respectively,co.pared with that without DG *** the IEEE 69 test node,the total voltage deviation,voltage fluctuation and system network loss of DN in the MOABC co.figuration scheme decreased by 54.98%,35.93%and 75.17%,respectively,co.pared with that without DG co.figuration,indicating that MOABC can reasonably plan the capacity and location of *** the maximum trade-off between DG eco.omy and DN operation stability.
