Multi boron-doping effects in hard carbon toward enhanced sodium ion storage

Hard carbon （HC） has been co.sidered as promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries （SIBs）.The optimization of hard carbon’s microstructure and solid electrolyte interface （SEI） property are demonstrated effective in enhancing the Na+storage capability,however,a one-step regulation strategy to achieve simultaneous multi-scale structures optimization is highly ***,we have systematically investigated the effects of boron doping on hard carbon’s microstructure and interface chemistry.A variety of structure characterizations show that appropriate amount of boron doping can increase the size of closed pores via rearrangement of carbon layers with improved graphitization degree,which provides more Na+storage ***-situ Fourier transform infrared spectrosco.y/electrochemical impedance spectrosco.y （FTIR/EIS） and X-ray photoelectron spectrosco.y （XPS） analysis demonstrate the presence of more BC3and less B–C–O structures that result in enhanced ion diffusion kinetics and the formation of inorganic rich and robust SEI,which leads to facilitated charge transfer and excellent rate *** a result,the hard carbon anode with optimized boron doping co.tent exhibits enhanced rate and cycling *** general,this work unravels the critical role of boron doping in optimizing the pore structure,interface chemistry and diffusion kinetics of hard carbon,which enables rational design of sodium-ion battery anode with enhanced Na+storage performance.

The depression mechanism of sulfite ions on sphalerite and Pb^(2+)activated sphalerite in the flotation separation of galena from sphalerite still lacked in-depth ***,the depression mechanism of sulfite ions on sphalerite and Pb^(2+)activated sphalerite in the flotation separation of galena from sphalerite was further systematically investigated with experiments and density functional theory(DFT)*** X-ray photoelectric spectrosco.y(XPS)results,DFT calculation results,and frontier molecular orbital analysis indicated that sulfite ions were difficult to be adsorbed on sphalerite surface,suggesting that sulfite ions achieved depression effects on sphalerite through other non-adsorption ***,the oxygen co.tent in the surface of sphalerite treated with sulfite ions in creased,which enhanced the hydrophilicity of the sphalerite and further increased the difference in hydrophilicity between sphalerite and ***,sulfite ions were chelated with lead ions to form PbSO_(3)in *** hydrophilic PbSO_(3)was more easily adsorbed on sphalerite than *** interaction between sulfite ions and lead ions co.ld effectively inhibit the activation of *** addition the UV spectrum showed that after adding sulfite ions,the peak of perxanthate in the sphalerite treated xanthate solution was significantly stronger than that in the galena with xanthate solution,indicating that xanthate interacted more readily with sulfite ions and oxygen mo lecules within the sphalerite system,leading to the formation of ***,sulfite ions hardly depressed the flotation of ga lena and co.ld promote the flotation of galena to some *** study deepened the understanding of the depression mechanism o sulfite ions on sphalerite and Pb^(2+)activated sphalerite.

Activity co.fficient of NiO in SiO_(2)-saturated MnO–SiO_(2)slag and Al_(2)O_(3)-saturated MnO–SiO_(2)–Al_(2)O_(3)slag at 1623 K

As a part of the fundamental study related to the reduction smelting of spent lithium-ion batteries and ocean polymetallic nodules based on MnO–SiO_(2)slags,this work investigated the activity co.fficient of NiO in SiO_(2)-saturated Mn O–Si O_(2)slag and Al_(2)O_(3)-saturated Mn O–SiO_(2)–Al_(2)O_(3)slag at 1623 K with co.trolled oxygen partial pressure levels of 10^(-7),10^(-6),and 10^(-5)*** showed that the solubility of nickel oxide in the slags increased with increasing oxygen partial *** nickel in the Mn O–Si O_(2)slag and Mn O–Si O_(2)–Al_(2)O_(3)slag existed as Ni O under experimental *** addition of Al_(2)O_(3)in the Mn O–Si O_(2)slag decreased the dissolution of nickel in the slag and increased the activity co.fficient of Ni ***,the activity co.fficient of Ni O(γN_(i O)),which is solid Ni O,in the Si O_(2)saturated Mn O–Si O_(2)slag and Al_(2)O_(3)saturated Mn O–Si O_(2)–Al_(2)O_(3)slag at 1623 K can be respectively calculated asγN_(i O)=8.58w(Ni O)+3.18 andγN_(i O)=11.06w(Ni O)+4.07,respectively,where w(Ni O)is the Ni O mass fraction in the slag.

The as-sintered sinter skin and the polished section of WC-11co.0.4Cr 3 C 2-0.3VC-0.2RE（RE=mischmetal with La/Ce ratio of 0.65） alloy were *** was shown that the microstructures on the skin and in the inner part of the alloy were all characterized with a WC＋β＋M structure,where β was a co.alt-based binder phase and M represented a RE-co.taining *** existed an inward diffusion of S atoms,which caught and fixed the Ce atoms in the alloy and an outward diffusion of La atoms during the sintering ***,the M phase was characterized with the decreased La/Ce ratio（0.59） in the inner part and the increased La/Ce ratio（1.01） on the *** M phase on the skin was characterized with a γ-Ce 2 S 3 type *** suppress the long range migration of rare earth to the skin,S in the sintering atmosphere had to be eliminated.

Numerical Simulation of Macrosco.ic Mixing in a Rushton Impeller Stirred Tank

The macrosco.ic mixing in a stirred tank with different tracer injection locations, impeller speeds and impeller positions is simulated numerically by solving the transport equation of the tracer based on the whole flow field in the baffled tank with a Rushton disk turbine numerically resolved using the improved inner-outer iterative procedure. Predicted mixing time is co.pared well with the literature co.relations. The predicted residence time distribution of the stirred tank is very close to the present experimental results. The effect of the installation of a draft tube on the mixing time and residence time distributions is addressed.

Magnetic field characteristics analysis of a single assembled magnetic medium using ANSYS software

The section shape of an assembled magnetic medium is the most important structural parameter of a high gradient magnetic separator, which directly affects the induction distribution and magnetic field gradient of the magnetic separator. In this study, equilateral triangle, square, hexagonal, octagon, dodecagon, and round shape sections of the assembled magnetic medium are chosen to study their influence on magnetic field distribution characteristics using the ANSYS analysis. This paper utilizes a single assembled magnetic medium to understand the relationship between the geometry of the assembled magnetic medium and its magnetic field distribution characteristics. The results show that high magnetic field,regional field, magnetic field gradient, and magnetic force formed by the different sections of the assembled magnetic medium in the same background magnetic field reduce in turn based on the triangle,square, hexagonal, octagon, dodecagon, and round. Based on the magnetic field characteristics analytic results, the magnetic separation tests of the ilmenite are carried out. The results indicate that the section shape of the toothed plate co.pared with the section shape of cylinder can improve the reco.ery of ilmenite up to 45% in the same magnetizing current co.dition of 2A, which is co.sistent with magnetic field characteristics analysis of different assembled magnetic medium section shapes.

Kinetics study of leaching arsenic from Ni-Mo ore roasting in dust mixture of hydrochloric and sulfuric acids

The kinetics of leaching arsenic from Ni-Mo ore roasting dust was investigated. The effects including leaching temperature, particle size of the smelter dust, stirring speed, the co.fficient β（the molar ratio of sodium chlorate to arsenic in the smelter dust） and the initial H＋ co.centration on leaching arsenic were studied. The results indicate that the leaching of arsenic increases sharply with the decrease of particle size. The orders of reaction with respect to H＋ co.centration and particle size are determinted to be 1.136 and 1.806, respectively. The leaching of arsenic reaches 99% under experimental co.ditions, the apparent activation energy is determined to be 11.157 kJ/mol, which is co.sistent with the values of activation energy for diffusion model The kinetics equation of leaching arsenic from the roasting dust co.ld be expressed by a semi-empirical equation as 1-2/3η （1 -η）^2/3 = k0（c[H＋]）^1.136ro^-1.806 exp[（-11157 /RT）t].

Reco.ering limonite from Australia iron ores by flocculation-high intensity magnetic separation

Successful reco.ery of limonite from iron fines was achieved by using flocculation-high intensity magnetic separation （FIMS） and adding hydrolyzed and causticized flocculants acco.ding to the characteristic of iron fines. The separation results of the three iron samples are as follows： iron grade 66.77%- 67.98% and the reco.ery of iron 69.26%-70.70% by the FIMS process with flocculants. The co.parative results show that under the same separation co.ditions the F1MS process can effectively increase the reco.ery of iron by 10. 97%- 15.73%. The flowsheet results co.firm the reliability of the process in a SHP high intensity magnetic separator. The co.centrate product can he used as raw materials for direct reduction iron-smelting. The hydrolyzed and causticized flocculants can selectively flocculate fine feebly-magnetic iron mineral particles to increase their apparent separation sizes. The larger the separation size, the stronger the magnetic force. By co.paring the separation results of the three samples it is found that among the three samples the higher the limonite co.tent, the better the separation result. This means that the separation result relates closely to the flocculation process and the adding pattern of the flocculant.

A fine and platelet tungsten carbide patterned structure with fine yttrium co.taining dispersed phase was observed in liquid phase sintered WC-20%co.1%Y2O3 cemented carbide with ultrafine tungsten carbide and nano yttrium oxide as starting *** co.paring the microstructures of the alloy prepared by hot-press at the temperature below the eutectic melting temperature and by co.ventional liquid phase sintering,it is shown that hexagonal and truncated trigonal plate-like WC grains are formed through the mechanism of dissolution-precipitation(recrystallization)at the stage of liquid phase *** in the addition form of oxide exhibits good ability in inhibiting the disco.tinuous or inhomogeneous WC grain growth in the alloy at the stage of solid phase sintering.
