Protective effect of brain and muscle arnt-like protein-1 against ethanol-induced ferroptosis by activating Nrf2 in mice liver and HepG2 cells

Alcohol abuse has recently become a serious health concern worldwide,and the incidence of alcoholic liver disease(ALD)is rapidly increasing with high morbidity and *** is a newly recognized form of regulated cell death caused by the iron-dependent accumulation of lipid *** we showed that the circadian clock protein brain and muscle arnt-like protein-1(BMAL1)in hepatocytes is both necessary and sufficient to protect against ALD by mitigating ferroptosis.U pon exposure to alcohol(5%Lieber-DeCarli liquid alcohol diet for 10 days before binged alcohol with 5 g/kg body weight in vivo,300 mmol/L for 12 h in vitro,respectively),the content of iron,reactive oxygen species(ROS)and malondialdehyde(MDA)was boosted signifi cantly while glutathione(GSH)was decreased that mainly based on the downregulated protein expression of ferritin heavy chain(FTH),ferroportin(FPN),heme oxygenase1(HO-1)and anti-cystine/glutamate antiporter(SLC7A11),while these changes could be abolished by ferroptosis inhibitor Ferrostatin-1[Fer-1(5 mg/kg body weight for 10 days in vivo,10μmol/L for 2 h in vitro,respectively)].Further study indicated that the alcohol could activate the protein expression of BMAL1 which exerts a protective effect against ferroptosis through promoting nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)translocation into nuclear and subsequently stimulating its downstream proteins FTH,FPN,glutathione peroxidase 4 activity(GPX4),HO-1,SLC7A11,while knockdown of BMAL1 and Nrf2 by RNA interference further downregulated the expression of these protein and thus promoting ferroptosis in response to ***,our results unveiled that the protective action of BMAL1 during alcohol challenge depends on its ability to activate Nrf2-ARE antiferroptosis pathway and targeting hepatic BMAL1 to dampen hepatic ferroptosis signaling may have therapeutic potential for ALD.

Elaidic acid leads to mitochondrial dysfunction via mitochondria-associated membranes triggers disruption of mitochondrial calcium fluxes

Elaidic acid(EA)stimulation can lead to endoplasmic reticulum stress(ERS),accompanied by a large release of Ca^(2+),and ultimately the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome in Kupffer cells(KCs).Mitochondrial instability or dysfunction may be the key stimulating factors to activate NLRP3 inflammasome,and sustained Ca^(2+)transfer can result in mitochondrial *** focused on KCs to explore the damage to mitochondria by *** EA stimulation,cells produced an oxidative stress(OS)response with a significant increase in ROS *** experiments and the addition of inhibitors revealed that the increase in the level of intracellular Ca^(2+)led to Ca^(2+)accumulation in the mitochondrial matrix via mitochondria-associated membranes(MAMs).This was accompanied by a significant release of m ROS,loss of MMP and ATP,and a significant increase in mitochondrial permeability transition pore opening,ultimately leading to mitochondrial *** findings confirmed the mechanism that EA induced mitochondrial Ca^(2+)imbalance in KCs via MAM,ultimately leading to mitochondrial ***,EA induced OS and the decrease of MMP and ATP in rat liver,and significant lesions were found in liver *** of the inner mitochondrial cristae and mitochondrial vacuolization occurred,with a marked increase in lipid droplets.

Interdecadal Variations of Cold Air Activities in Northeast china during Springtime

Based on the daily mean temperature data of CN05.2 from 1961 to 2012, cold events （CEs） are first divided into two categories according to their duration： strong cold events （SCEs） and weak cold events （WCEs）. Then, the characteristics of CEs, SCEs, and WCEs during springtime are investigated. The results indicate that in the pre-1990s epoch, ENSO and Arctic Oscillation events in the previous winter are closely related to SCEs in the following spring. The multidecadal variations of CEs, SCEs, and WCEs are obvious. The intensity trend for SCEs is significantly negative, but it seems less apparent for WCEs. Further analysis reveals that when both SCEs and WCEs occur, a typical East Asian trough in the 850- hPa wind field, whose northwesterly wind component invades Northeast china （NEC） and causes freezing days, can be found in every decade. For the SCEs, a cold vortex, with its center located over Okhotsk and northeasterly current affecting NEC, is found as an additional feature. For the WCEs, the cold vortex is located in Karafuto and its northwesterly airflow intrudes into NEC. As for the difference between SCEs and WCEs, the northwestern flow is weaker while the northeastern counterpart is stronger during the SCEs, in all decades. In the Takaya-Nakamura flux and divergence fields, for the SCEs, a divergence center exists over NEC; and over its downstream regions, a stronger divergence center appears, not like a wave train. However, the opposite is the case for the WCEs; moreover, the wave train appears clearly during the WCEs, which means that the wave energy can propagate and dissipate more easily during WCEs.

An integrated supramolecular fungicide nanoplatform based on pH-sensitive metal–organic frameworks

The construction of an integrated nanoplatform with controlled fungicide delivery features in the specific microenvironment produced by fungal pathogens is a highly desirable strategy to improve the utilization of fungicides. Herein, we report a supramolecular fungicide delivery system based on benzimidazolemodified NH_(2)-MIL-101(Fe) metal–organic frameworks(B-MIL-101(Fe) MOFs) as carriers loaded with osthole(OS), and β-cyclodextrin(β-CD) as nanovalves to form β-CD@B-MIL-101(Fe)-OS. The nanoplatform can release the loaded OS for fungus control through self-degradation of the MOFs skeleton in an oxalic acid microenvironment produced by Botrytis cinerea. The experimental results exhibit that the constructed supramolecular fungicide delivery system could effectively inhibit mycelial growth and protect the tomatoes from infection by B. cinerea during the ripening stage. This strategy constructs a facile and integrated supramolecular drug delivery system for B. cinerea control and opens up a new avenue for the sustainable development of modern agriculture.

Pyrolysis Empirical Modeling of Polyester Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics Using Sestak-Berggren Model Method

Polyester Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic(Polyester GFRP),a thermosetting plastic comprised of glass fiber and polyester polymer compounds,is extensively utilized in high-speed *** its pyrolysis mechanism is crucial as it significantly influences the combustion characteristics and fire safety ***,kinetic research on polyester GFRP primarily focuses on employing the Coats-Redfern method to derive a theoretical kinetic ***,the pyrolysis process of polyester GFRP is complex and the aforementioned theoretical model fails to accurately describe the pyrolysis ***,this study seeks to utilize the Sestak and Berggren(SB) model as a methodological approach to reveal the complex reaction mechanism during the pyrolysis *** on thermogravimetric analysis,the entire pyrolysis process of polyester GFRP is divided into two primary ***,model-free methods are employed to ascertain the activation energy and pre-exponential *** results show that the fitted empirical models of the two main pyrolysis stages are f(α)=(1-α)^(1.47)[-ln(1-α)]^(1.50) and f(α)=(1-α)^(1.77)[-ln(1-α)]^(1.72),*** predicted results are in good agreement with experimental data under different heating rates,which indicates that the empirical model can sufficiently describe the pyrolysis process of polyester GFRP.

Due to the lack of accurate data and complex parameterization,the prediction of groundwater depth is a chal-lenge for numerical *** learning can effectively solve this issue and has been proven useful in the prediction of groundwater depth in many *** this study,two new models are applied to the prediction of groundwater depth in the Ningxia area,*** two models combine the improved dung beetle optimizer(DBO)algorithm with two deep learning models:The Multi-head Attention-Convolution Neural Network-Long Short Term Memory networks(MH-CNN-LSTM)and the Multi-head Attention-Convolution Neural Network-Gated Recurrent Unit(MH-CNN-GRU).The models with DBO show better prediction performance,with larger R(correlation coefficient),RPD(residual prediction deviation),and lower RMSE(root-mean-square error).Com-pared with the models with the original DBO,the R and RPD of models with the improved DBO increase by over 1.5%,and the RMSE decreases by over 1.8%,indicating better prediction *** addition,compared with the multiple linear regression model,a traditional statistical model,deep learning models have better prediction performance.

Diatomic Fe-Co catalysts synergistically catalyze oxygen evolution reaction

The design of diatomic catalysts with uniformly dispersed metal atoms is expected to improve catalytic performance,which is conducive to the intensive comprehending of the synergistic mechanism between dual-metal sites for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)at the atomic ***,we design a strategy to immobilize bimetallic Fe-Co atoms onto nitrogen-doped graphene to obtain a diatomic catalyst(DA-FC-NG)with FeN_(3)-CoN_(3) *** DA-FC-NG shows excellent OER activity with a low overpotential(η_(10)=268 mV),which is superior to commercial iridium dioxide *** calculations uncover that the excellent activity of DA-FC-NG is due to the interaction between Fe and Co diatoms,which causes charge rearrangement and induces the adsorption of intermediates on the Fe-O-Co bridge structure,thus improving the catalytic OER *** work is of great significance for the design of highly active diatomic catalysts to replace noble metal catalysts for energy-related applications.

Crowd sensing data delivery based on tangle DAG network

In view of the fact that current data delivery methods are not enough to meet the security requirements of today’s distributed crowd sensing,and the data delivery methods are not flexible enough,this paper proposes a crowd sensing data interaction method based on tangle directed acyclic graph(DAG)*** this method,users and platforms are regarded as nodes of the network in the process of performing crowd sensing ***,the heaviest chain is generated through the main chain strategy to ensure the stability of the ***,the hidden Markov model(HMM)prediction model is used to improve the correlation of the perceived data to improve the ***,the confidential transaction and commitment algorithm is used to ensure the reliability of the transaction,overcome the security risks faced by the trusted third party,and simplify the group intelligence aware transaction ***,through simulation experiments,the security and feasibility of the group intelligence aware data delivery method based on tangle DAG network are verified.
