The complication of adulterated ingredients in processed food items is widely observed in the food industry and remains a continuous disquiet for end users. This problem may affect consumers’ spiritual beliefs, likewise with their fitness and diet. Hence commercial foods should be scrutinized for the precision of the avowed ingredients. This study is dedicated to developing a Fluorescent light Spectroscope to identify the pork adulteration. A simple way of DNA extraction process has been introduced to make the system more convenient. The spectral bands linked with pork fat (PF), beef fat (BF) and their combinations in different food formulation were skimmed, and recognized by correlating them to those spectroscopically illustrative to clean Pork or PF and other different items. Every material has the properties to absorb some light of specific wavelength, and our activity is to determine thus wavelength range at which are absorbed or make any change by the target material. The findings have revealed that spectroscopy can be used as one of the procedures to detect and quantify of pork in different foods and beverages formulation for Halal verification purposes. Special laborious procedures and equipment both are essential for the existing testing methods named RT-PCR (Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) and ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay). Most of the food processors and dealers are not skillful to conduct sufficient testing for their products with all these sample preparation, extraction, analysis, and obtaining results which can be overcome by our proposed setup.

Avionics （aeronautics and aerospace） industries must rely on components and systems of demonstrated high reliability. For this, handbook-based methods have been traditionally used to design for reliability, develop test plans, and define maintenance requirements and sustainment logistics, However, these methods have been criticized as flawed and leading to inaccurate and mis- leading results. In its recent report on enhancing defense system reliability, the U.S. National Academy of Sciences has recently discredited these methods, judging the Military Handbook （MIL- HDBK-217） and its progeny as invalid and inaccurate. This paper discusses the issues that arise with the use of handbook-based methods in commercial and military avionics applications. Alter- native approaches to reliability design （and its demonstration） are also discussed, including similarity analysis, testing, physics-of-failure, and data analytics for prognostics and systems health management.

We investigated procurement of raw materials for particleboard to minimize costs and develop an efficient optimization model for product mix. In a multiple-vendor market, vendors must be evaluated based on specified criteria. Assuming sourcing from the highest-scoring vendors, annual purchase quantities are then planned. To meet procure- ment needs, we first propose a model to describe the problem. Then, an appropriate multi-criteria decision making （MCDM） technique is se- lected to solve it. We ran the model using commercial software such as LINGO~ and then compared the model results to a real case involving one of the largest particleboard manufacturers in the region. The model run based real data yielded a procurement program that is more efficient and lower in cost than the program currently in use. Use of this procurement modelling approach would yield considerable financial returns.

Homemade versus commercial Jarred Baby Foods with Regard to Nitrites and Nitrates Content

This paper presents results of nitrites and nitrates determination in two types of baby foods： commercial products in jars and their homemade conventional counterparts. Nitrites levels in all analyzed samples were below of the detection limit （〈 0.9 mg/kg） of applied spectrophotometric method with Griess reagent. Nitrates contents in commercial products ranged： 9.1-38.1 mg/kg while in homemade baby foods levels between 26.6 mg/kg and 118.8 mg/kg were obtained. All the contents of nitrates were lower than the EU legislation maximum limit （200 mg/kg）. Comparison of each type of commercial product with its homemade counterpart baby food evidenced significant differences （p 〈 0.05） in average nitrates levels in favor of the first type. Apart from determining and comparing the levels of nitrates in the baby food samples also risk assessment for an average 6-months old infant to nitrates exposure was conducted. The estimated nitrates intake with a typical portion of 200g of baby food ranged between 6% and 25.7% of acceptable daily intake for commercial and from 18.0% to 80.3% for homemade ones.

Today,there is a growing interest in developing energy efficient buildings since it is estimated that buildings account for about 40%of the total primary energy consumption in the *** relation to existing buildings,energy efficiency retrofits have become an important opportunity to upgrade the energy performance of commercial,public and residential buildings that may reduce the energy consumption,demand and *** this paper we cover the energy efficiency deep retrofit process that has been carried out for Nottingham Playhouse theatre building for the aim of enhancing its environmental performance and analysing the energy efficiency gained after implementing certain proposed *** is a nationally protected historic building,listed as Grade II*on The National Heritage List for England(NHLE).The building has had insulation enhancement,doors modifications,solar energy installations,energy-saving lights,in addition to improved heating and air conditioning *** paper presents a novel methodology;and its results indicate significant improvements in the building’s energy performance which is demonstrated using infrared thermographic images and data logger sensors where significant energy savings to the building’s thermal performance are *** energy saving measures have been completed while maintaining the heritage building’s general appearance and architectural features,which have received a Commendation Certificate from The Nottingham Civic Society for this achievement.

This paper examines the impact of M&As of"Second Financial Restructuring"(SFR)on the productivity growth of commercial banks in *** paper uses the Malmquist productivity change index to evaluate changes from pre-SFR to post-SFR period(2004-2010).In addition,the fixed-effect regression model is applied to examine the relationship of SFR policy and productivity *** found that merged banks had improved their productivity,technology,and scale efficiency from pre-SFR to post-SFR period(2004-2010).In addition,the greater productivity growth of merged banks than non-merged banks is attributed to small-sized and private-voluntary merged ***,the small-sized merged banks have greater productivity growth and scale efficiency improvement than the big-sized merged banks,and the government-mandatory merged banks have lower productivity growth than private-voluntary merged *** findings on this paper have implications for government policy and banking management on M&As activity,in particular,as they clarify the differential effects of big-sized ***-sized and government-mandatory ***-voluntary merged *** the impacts of the financial reform is particularly important as the banking industry has become increasingly competitive.

Financial Institutions are one of the keys for a nation’s economy, while the operation statues of commercial banks bring the prompt action on the financial stability. So, it is vital to construct an effective risk evaluation system which can monitor the risks timely for commercial banks. Up to now, a great number of statistical methods have been applied to appraise the bank risks, and among these studies, Analytic Hierarchy Process and Fuzzy Logic Theory were very popular in different fields and many fruits were obtained in this aspect. In this paper, we try to establish a risk evaluation model by combining Analytic Hierarchy Process with Fuzzy Logic Theory. First of all, we propose some indexes to response the risks in the macro economy, estate and stock markets, and bank itself. Then, the individual weight for each index will be worked out by Analytic Hierarchy Process Theory. Lastly, Fuzzy Logic Theory is used to appraise the bank risks. Fixing with the above works, we construct a Risk Evaluation Model for commercial banks.
