Endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced NLRP3 inflammasome activation as a novel mechanism of polystyrene microplastics (PS-MPs)-induced pulmonary inflammation in chickens

Microplastics(MPs)have attracted growing attention worldwide as an increasingly prevalent environmental *** addition,chicken meat is currently the most widely consumed kind of poultry in the global *** demand for chicken is on the rise both at home and *** a result,the safety of chicken raising has also received significant *** lungs play an essential role in the physiological activities of chickens,and they are also the most vulnerable *** injury is difficult to repair after the accumulation of contaminants,and the mortality rate is high,which brings huge economic losses to *** research on the toxicity of MPs has mainly focused on the marine ecosystem,while the mechanisms of toxicity and lung damage in chickens have been poorly ***,this study explored the effects of exposure to polystyrene microplastics(PS-MPs)at various concentrations for 42 d on chicken ***-MPs could cause lung pathologies and ultrastructural abnormalities,such as endoplasmic reticulum(ER)swelling,inflammatory cell infiltration,chromatin agglutination,and plasma membrane ***,PS-MPs increased the expression of genes related to the heat shock protein family(Hsp60,Hsp70,and Hsp90),ER stress signaling(activating) transcription factor 6(ATF0),ATF4,protein kinase RNA-like ER kinase(PERK),and eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 subunitα(eIF2a),pyroptosis-related genes(NOD)-,LRR-and pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3),apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a caspase recruitment domain(ASC),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),cysteinyl aspartate-specific proteinase 1(Caspasel),and gasdermin-D(GSDMD),and the inflammatory signaling pathway(nuclear factor-kB(NF-kB),inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS),and cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2).The above results showed that PS-MP exposure could result in lung stress,ER stress,pyroptosis,and inflammation in *** findings provide new scientific clues for further research o

Compatibility evaluation between waterborne epoxy resin and SBR latex modified asphalt emulsion

Good compatibility between waterborne epoxy resin(WER)modifier and styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR)latex modified asphalt emulsion(SBRE)is an essential premise for good pavement performance of WER and SBR latex compositely modified asphalt emulsion(WSAE).This study aims to explore the compatibility between WER modifier and *** achieve the goal,several WER modifiers produced by two methods were first selected to modify SBRE,thus the WSAEs were ***,storage stability and workability of the WSAEs themselves,and high-temperature performance,rheological behavior and temperature sensitivity of their evaporated residues were compared and evaluated via performing a series of experiments,respectively,thus the WER modifier possessing an optimal modification effect was *** show that the storage stability of WSAEs is sensitive to the amount of *** incorporation of 1%WERs by the mass of SBRE improves the storage stability of SBRE,while WERs that exceed 1%weaken its storage *** the WERs reach 3%and 4%,the 5 d storage stability of prepared WSAEs will be beyond the limitation of *** WERs into SBRE negatively affects the workability of SBRE,and the workability of WSAEs is adversely influenced by the WERs content and the storage *** ensure the construction,the WSAEs with 3%and 4%WERs should not be stored for more than 36 h and 48 h,*** WERs effectively improve the high-temperature performance of SBRE residue,especially the 3%***,the WERs notably enhance the rheological property and thermal stability of SBRE *** contrast,the WER modifier produced by chemically modified method has a smaller adverse impact on the storage stability and workability of WSAE,and a larger enhancement on the high-temperature performance,rheological property and thermal stability of SBRE residue,which is thus recommended to modify SBRE.

This editorial contains comments on the article by Zhao et al in print in the World Journal of *** mechanisms responsible for hepatic fibrosis are also involved in ***,we recapitulated the complexity of the renin-angiotensin system,discussed the role of hepatic stellate cell(HSC)autophagy in liver fibrogenesis,and analyzed the possible implications in the development of hepatocarcinoma(HCC).Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers definitively contribute to reducing hepatic fibrogenesis,whereas their involvement in HCC is more evident in experimental conditions than in human ***-converting enzyme 2(ACE2),and its product Angiotensin(Ang)1-7,not only regulate HSC autophagy and liver fibrosis,but they also represent potential targets for unexplored applications in the field of ***,ACE2 overexpression inhibits HSC autophagy through the AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)/mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)*** this case,Ang 1-7 acts binding to the MasR,and its agonists could modulate this ***,since AMPK utilizes different targets to suppress the mTOR downstream complex mTOR complex 1 effectively,we still need to unravel the entire pathway to identify other potential targets for the therapy of fibrosis and liver cancer.

Risk of hepatic decompensation from hepatitis B virus reactivation in hematological malignancy treatments

In this editorial,we discussed the apparent discrepancy between the findings described by Colapietro et al,in their case report and data found in the *** et al reported a case of hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related hepatic decompensation in a patient with chronic myeloid leukemia and a previously resolved HBV infection who was receiving Bruton’s tyrosine kinase(BTK)inhibitor *** of all,we recapitulated the main aspects of the immune system involved in the response to HBV infection in order to underline the role of the innate and adaptive response,focusing our attention on the protective role of *** then carefully analyzed literature data on the risk of HBV reactivation(HBVr)in patients with previous HBV infection who were treated with either tyrosine kinase inhibitors or BTK inhibitors for their hematologic *** on literature data,we suggested that several factors may contribute to the different risks of HBVr:The type of hematologic malignancy;the type of therapy(BTK inhibitors,especially second-generation,seem to be at a higher risk of HBVr than those with tyrosine kinase inhibitors);previous exposure to an anti-CD20 as first-line therapy;and ethnicity and HBV ***,the warning regarding HBVr in the specific setting of patients with hematologic malignancies requires further investigation.

Motif-based graph local clustering(MGLC)is a popular method for graph mining tasks due to its various ***,the traditional two-phase approach of precomputing motif weights before performing local clustering loses locality and is impractical for large *** some attempts have been made to address the efficiency bottleneck,there is still no applicable algorithm for large scale graphs with billions of *** this paper,we propose a purely local and index-free method called Index-free Triangle-based Graph Local Clustering(TGLC^(*))to solve the MGLC problem w.r.t.a ***^(*)directly estimates the Personalized PageRank(PPR)vector using random walks with the desired triangleweighted distribution and proposes the clustering result using a standard sweep *** demonstrate TGLC^(*)’s scalability through theoretical analysis and its practical benefits through a novel visualization ***^(*)is the first algorithm to solve the MGLC problem without precomputing the motif *** experiments on seven real-world large-scale datasets show that TGLC^(*)is applicable and scalable for large graphs.

Vibration attenuation performance of wind turbine tower using a prestressed tuned mass damper under seismic excitation

With the rapid development of large megawatt wind turbines,the operation environment of wind turbine towers(WTTs)has become increasingly *** particular,seismic excitation can create a resonance response and cause excessive vibration of the *** investigate the vibration attenuation performance of the WTT under seismic excitations,a novel passive vibration control device,called a prestressed tuned mass damper(PS-TMD),is presented in this ***,a mathematical model is established based on structural dynamics under seismic ***,the mathematical analytical expression of the dynamic coefficient is deduced,and the parameter design method is obtained by system tuning ***,based on a theoretical analysis and parameter design,the numerical results showed that the PS-TMD was able to effectively mitigate the resonance under the harmonic basal ***,the time-history analysis method is used to verify the effectiveness of the traditional pendulum tuned mass damper(PTMD)and the novel PS-TMD device,and the results indicate that the vibration attenuation performance of the PS-TMD is better than the *** addition,the PS-TMD avoids the nonlinear effect due to the large oscillation angle,and has the potential to dissipate hysteretic energy under seismic excitation.

We present a class of arbitrarily high order fully explicit kinetic numerical methods in compressible fluid dynamics,both in time and space,which include the relaxation schemes by Jin and *** methods can use the CFL number larger or equal to unity on regular Cartesian meshes for the multi-dimensional *** kinetic models depend on a small parameter that can be seen as a"Knudsen"*** method is asymptotic preserving in this Knudsen ***,the computational costs of the method are of the same order of a fully explicit *** work is the extension of Abgrall et al.(2022)[3]to multidimensional *** have assessed our method on several problems for two-dimensional scalar problems and Euler equations and the scheme has proven to be robust and to achieve the theoretically predicted high order of accuracy on smooth solutions.

Introducing cerium into TiO_(2)@MnO_(x) hollow-sphere structure for highly active photothermocatalysis degradation of ethyl acetate and NO under H_(2)O at low temperature

The CeO_(2)-TiO_(2)@MnO_(x) catalyst was prepared by the co-precipitation method and applied to the photothermocatalysis system of ethyl acetate and NO simultaneous degradation under H_(2)O at low temperature,which introduced Ce into TiO_(2)@MnO_(x) hollow sptrera *** optimum TiO_(2)/MnO_(x) ratio and Ce introducing amount were obtained in the *** of them,the NO and ethyl acetate conversion percentage of TiO_(2)@MnO_(x)(n_(Mn):n_(Ti)=40:40)is 74%and 62%at 240℃,***_(2)-TiO_(2)@MnO_(x)(n_(Mn):n_(Ce)=1:1)exhibits the best catalytic performance,its efficiency for NO conversion is 83%and the conversion of ethyl acetate reaches 72%at 240℃.In addition,it is confirmed that the Cedoped nanocomposites have more uniform dispersion through various characterization and analysis ***,these catalysts have a large specific surface area as well as a large number of surface-active oxygen and oxygen *** can further improve the catalytic performance based on the adjusted ratio of active ***,this work investigated the relationship between multi-metal interactions and catalytic performance in the presence of H_(2)***,the possible reaction pathways for the simultaneous removal of NO and ethyl acetate were explored in our system.

Exploring the realms of physics that extend beyond thermal equilibrium has emerged as a crucial branch of condensed matter physics *** aims to unravel the intricate processes involving the excitations,interactions,and annihilations of quasi-and many-body particles,and ultimately to achieve the manipulation and engineering of exotic non-equilibrium quantum phases on the ultrasmall and ultrafast spatiotemporal *** the inherent complexities arising from many-body dynamics,it therefore seeks a technique that has efficient and diverse detection degrees of freedom to study the underlying *** combining high-power femtosecond lasers with real-or momentum-space photoemission electron microscopy(PEEM),imaging excited state phenomena from multiple perspectives,including time,real space,energy,momentum,and spin,can be conveniently achieved,making it a unique technique in studying physics out of *** this context,we overview the working principle and technical advances of the PEEM apparatus and the related laser systems,and survey key excited-state phenomena probed through this surface-sensitive methodology,including the ultrafast dynamics of electrons,excitons,plasmons,spins,etc.,in materials ranging from bulk and nano-structured metals and semiconductors to low-dimensional quantum *** this review,one can further envision that time-resolved PEEM will open new avenues for investigating a variety of classical and quantum phenomena in a multidimensional parameter space,offering unprecedented and comprehensive insights into important questions in the field of condensed matter physics.
