The knowledge of the soil quality plays a vital role in the agricultural sector. despite its importance, there is scarce scientific information concerning this regard. The objective of this research is to develop a methodology to identify and select the most appropriate indicators of Soil Quality Index (SQI) in a region with high agricultural activity. For its conformation, a descriptive statistical analysis and a Pearson correlation matrix were performed and the indicators that showed greater variation were identified using a Principal Components Analysis (PCA). A sensitivity analysis was carried out and the most sensible soil indicators of?SQI?were identified. This statistical procedure was also used to specify the weights of the indicators in?SQI. The variables resulting from the multiparametric statistical analysis were pH, organic matter, sodium, calcium, iron, zinc, cation exchange capacity and electrical conductivity. The robustness of the?SQI?obtained in this study was demonstrated through simulations carried out by the numerical optimization through simplex method. The Soil Quality Index range obtained (0.54 - 0.75) locates Culiacan Valley soils as moderate/high quality.

在荒漠地区选择何种方法开展地下水的补给及其环境响应研究,是目前干旱区水文学的一个难点和热点问题.本文回顾了前人在相关研究中所选择的包气带示踪方法理论及问题,以我国北方阿拉善高原荒漠为例提取了区域地下水补给和演化的有效信息,并提供了与之相关的环境变化历史的理解.基于氯质量平衡理论所估算的荒漠非饱和带补给速率与年代学序列等研究表明：阿拉善高原中部巴丹吉林沙漠及周边戈壁等地区在晚全新世距今约700～2000年历史上,经历了数次百年尺度的地下水补给波动过程,并与区域干湿气候波动密切相关;多个剖面记录可以识别出近千年来4个相对湿润（1330～1430年、1500～1620年、1700～1780年和1950～1990年）以及3个相对干旱（1430～1500年、1620～1700年和1900～1950年）的时段.这些记录与青藏高原北缘地区的其他古气候记录具有一致性,并与我国东部气候记录有一定的对应,表明阿拉善高原地下水补给广泛反映了百年尺度上我国西北地区大尺度范围内的气候干湿变化程度,并且可能受到了东亚夏季风强度变化的影响.估算的阿拉善近千年以来的平均补给速率约为1.3 ～ 2.6mm/a,为理解区域地下水补给来源问题带来新的地质证据,但目前的研究结果与其他环境记录有较大出入.需要指出,包气带剖面的环境记录具有很多不确定性,主要来自于氯质量平衡估算中的大气Cl输入量假设和均质土壤包气带剖面（活塞流）的选择.我们认为未来应当通过对比确定性的数据（如区域基准站）和大尺度随机大气Cl输入背景来广泛检验这个不确定性及其误差;并对非饱和带地层的结构均质性、水分平流传输与扩散传输机制的相对重要性以及特征时段的“氯凸剖面”等,提供沉积学、水力学和地球化学等证据的约束.

Freshwater biota are more comprehensive and direct indicators of biological impacts,and more meaningful to the public than water quality or physical habitat *** biotic data and the multiple biological indicators developed from them offer a much richer array of data for assessing the impacts of pollution controls than a limited set of physical or chemical *** recent decades,assemblage-based assessments by ecologists,environmental scientists,and water quality agencies have been employed globally for determining the condition of,and threats to,freshwater ecosystems.A key step in this advance has been the development of multimetric indices(MMIs)or indices of biotic integrity(IBIs)based on quantitative assessments of algae,macrophyte,macroinvertebrate,fish or riparian bird *** Europe,where biological assemblages are mandated for assessing freshwater ecosystem health,many indices are ***,the proliferation of MMIs globally has not always occurred through the application of rigorous study designs and monitoring protocols,nor have they always effectively incorporated functional metrics,stressor assessments,and statistical ***,in this review,we discuss eleven major concerns with the development and application(including logistical limitations)of multimetric indicators based on freshwater biota to encourage more rigorous and widely applicable(transferable)MMI use and ***,our concerns focus on reference conditions;sampling effort,methods,and season;trophic guild definition;metric comprehensiveness,options,screening and scoring;and MMI *** could also benefit from increased attention to ecological mechanisms and metric development,to further improve our understanding of anthropogenic impacts as well as rehabilitation effects on freshwater ecosystems *** closer attention to study designs,ecological mechanisms and metric development should further improve our understa

Historical documents provide evidence for regional droughts preceding the political turmoil and fall of Beijing in 1644 CE,when more than 20 million people died in northern China during the late Ming famine ***,the role climate and environmental changes may have played in this pivotal event in Chinese history remains ***,we provide tree-ring evidence of persistent megadroughts from1576 to 1593 CE and from 1628 to 1644 CE in northern China,which coincided with exceptionally cold summers just before the fall of *** analysis reveals that these regional hydroclimatic extremes are part of a series of megadroughts along the Pacific Rim,which not only impacted the ecology and society of monsoonal northern China,but likely also exacerbated external geopolitical and economic *** finding is corroborated by last millennium reanalysis data and numerical climate model simulations revealing internally driven Pacific sea surface temperature variations and the predominance of decadal scale La Ni?a-like conditions to be responsible for precipitation decreases over northern China,as well as extensive monsoon regions in the *** teleconnection patterns provide a mechanistic explanation for reoccurring drought spells during the late Ming Dynasty and the environmental framework fostering the fall of Beijing in 1644 CE,and the subsequent demise of the Ming Dynasty.

Fungi are highly important biotic components of terrestrial ecosystems,but we still have a very limited understanding about their diversity and *** data article releases a global soil fungal dataset of the Global Soil Mycobiome consortium(GSMc)to boost further research in fungal diversity,biogeography and *** dataset comprises 722,682 fungal operational taxonomic units(OTUs)derived from PacBio sequencing of full-length ITS and 18S-V9 variable regions from 3200 plots in 108 countries on all *** plots are supplied with geographical and edaphic *** OTUs are taxonomically and functionally assigned to guilds and other functional *** entire dataset has been corrected by excluding chimeras,index-switch artefacts and potential *** dataset is more inclusive in terms of geographical breadth and phylogenetic diversity of fungi than previously published *** GSMc dataset is available over the PlutoF repository.
