The aim of this work is to compare the isothermal crystallization kinetic in the films along GeTe-Sb2Te3 line with composition Ge2Sb2Te5, Ge1Sb2Te4 Ge1Sb4Te7 and Ge4Sb1Te5 using mainly Johnson–Mehl–Avrami-Kolmogorov (JMAK) model. Results obtained have shown different crystallization mechanism in the investigated films. In Ge2Sb2Te5 and Ge1Sb2Te4 films the analysis of the kinetic results (Avrani coefficient) showed that at the beginning of crystallization a metastable phase appeared with the Ge1Sb4Te7 composition, this is followed by the nucleation and growth of the stable fcc phase up to full crystallization. In contrast Ge4Sb1Te5 and Ge1Sb4Te7 films show diffusion control growing from small dimension grains with decreasing nucleation rate.

Whole-genome duplications are an important source of evolutionary novelties that change the mode and tempo at which genetic elements evolve within a genome. The Cucurbita genus experienced a wholegenome duplication around 30 million years ago, although the evolutionary dynamics of the coding and noncoding genes in this genus have not yet been scrutinized. Here, we analyzed the genomes of four Cucurbita species, in eluding a newly assembled genome of Cucurbita argyrosperma, and compared the gene con tents of these species with those of five other members of the Cucurbitaceae family to assess the evolutionary dynamics of protein-coding and long intergenic noncoding RNA (lincRNA) genes after the genome duplication. We report that Cucurbita genomes have a higher protein-coding gene birth-death rate compared with the genomes of the other members of the Cucurbitaceae family. C. argyrosperma gene families associated with pollination and transmembrane transport had significantly faster evolutionary rates. lincRNA families showed high levels of gene turnover throughout the phylogeny, and 67.7% of the lincRNA families in Cucurbita showed evidence of birth from the neofunctionalization of previously existing protein-coding genes. Collectively, our results suggest that the whole-genome duplication in Cucurbita resulted in faster rates of gene family evolution through the neofunctionalization of duplicated genes.

During the hydrogenation process of vegetable, oils originates isomer with trans fatty acids (TFA). Various investigations have been made to know the effect of TFA on health and it has been reported in the literature that if they are consumed in large proportions increases low density lipoprotein causing an imbalance in cholesterol, which causes cardiovascular problems. As a result, some countries have legislated and regulated the TFA content in foods. The purpose of this work is to study the FA of the butters produced from hydrogenated vegetable oil (MV) and pure cow"s milk (MPV) with and without oxidation by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) spectroscopy. The butters were acquired at a local supermarket and oxidized at 200 oC by 30 min. Infrared Radiation (IR) measurements were carried out in the Attenuated Total Reflectance mode and in the region of 400-4000 cm-1. IR spectra of the two butters with and without oxidation present absorption bands around 968 and 3006 cm-1, which are characteristic of the functional groups trans and cis, respectively. The MV presented a greater intensity; in addition, it was more stable to heat treatment. With FTIR is possible to define precisely the peak associated with the functional group cis.

Rainfed areas in Mexico accounts for 14 million hectares where around 23 million people live and are located in places where there is a little climatic information. The severe drought that has impacted northern Mexico in the past several years as well as other parts of the country, has forced decision takers to look for improved tools and procedures to prevent and to cope with this natural hazard. For this paper, the methodology of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for estimating water balance variables was modified to provide crop yield estimations under rainfed agriculture in maize producer states of Mexico. The water balance accounts for the daily variation of soil water content having main input rainfall (Pp) and main output crop evapotranspiration (Eta). The algorithm computes crop yield using two distinctive approaches: 1) one based on surplus/deficit functions for each crop considered and 2) yield estimations based on soil water balance and water function productions of the crop being analyzed. For computing water balance and crop yields, a computer model is built that incorporates the FAO method for water balance (MOdel SICTOD: Computational System for decision Taking, acronym in Spanish) which stochastically generate precipitation based on wet/dry transition probabilities using a first order Markov chain scheme. Maps of average crop yields were obtained after interpolating model outcomes for the main maize producer states of Mexico: Jalisco, Michoacan, Guerrero, Puebla Oaxaca and Chiapas. Different planting dates were analyzed, early (90 days of length period), intermediate (120 days of length period) and late (150 days of length period). Crop yield variability correlates to the transition probability on having a wet day following a dry day. Results have shown high yield variation and probability of crop yield failure and climatic risk follows a distinctive pattern according to planting date and rainfall occurrence. The appr

Nylon is an important industrial material, and gamma irradiation is used for material modification. In this work, different gamma radiation dose were applied to crystalline fibres of nylon 6-12 at room temperature under argon atmosphere. Post-radiation effect was also studied, to know the effects of time. Some physical properties were measured obtaining the degree of modification with respect to the applied dose. X-ray values showed increment on the crystallinity and crystal size with dose increase up to 300 kGy. Brill Transition can be appreciated as a result of the in-situ X-ray with temperature study. Thermal analyses and AFM roughness measurements corroborate the modifying mechanisms in terms of the applied dose. For 15 and 50 kGy re-polymerization and crosslinking are the main mechanisms. Increment in the melting point at 15 kGy occurs, returning at 50 kGy to the original value. For 100 to 300 kGy the chain scission is the dominant mechanism because the melting point is lower than the original one. Both mechanisms take place in the amorphous zone.

AIM: To evaluate the surface expression of triggering receptor on myeloid cell 1 (TREM-1), class Ⅱ major histocompatibility complex molecules (HLA-DR), andthe expression of the splicing variant (svTREM-1) ofTREM-1 in septic patients and those subjected to major abdominal ***: Using flow cytometry, we examined the surface expression of TREM-1 and HLA-DR in peripheral blood monocytes from 11 septic patients, 7 elective gastrointestinal surgical patients, and 10 healthy volunteers. svTREM-1 levels were analyzed by RT-PCR. RESULTS: Basal expression of TREM-1 and HLA-DR in healthy volunteers was 35.91±14.75 MFI and75.8±18.3%, respectively. In septic patients, TREM-1 expression was 59.9±23.9 MFI and HLA-DR expression was 44.39±20.25%, with a significant differencebetween healthy and septic groups (P＜0.05) for bothmolecules. In the surgical patients, TREM-1 and HLA-DR expressions were 56.8±20.85 MFI and 71±13.8% before surgery and 72.65±29.92 MlFI and 72.82±22.55% after surgery. TREM-1 expression was significantly different(P = 0.0087) between the samples before and aftersurgery and svTREM-1 expression was 0.8590±0.1451 MF1, 0.8820±0.1460 MF1, and 2.210±0.7873MF1 in the healthy, surgical (after surgery) and septic groups, respectively. There was a significant difference (P = 0.048) in svTREM-1 expression between the healthy and surgical groups and the septic ***: TREM-1 expression is increased during systemic inflammatory conditions such as sepsis and the postoperative phase. Simultaneous low expression of HLA-DR molecules correlates with the severity of illness and increases susceptibility to infection. Additionally, TREM-1 expression is distinctly different in surgical patients at different stages of the inflammatory response before and after surgery. Thus, surface TREM-1 appears to be an endogenous signal during the course of the inflammatory response. svTREM-1 expression is significantly increased during sepsis, appearing to be an indicator of

Objective:To assess the usefulness of IGRA test(QuantiFERON? -Cell mediated immune) compared with the tuberculin skin ***:A cross-sectional study was carried out in Mexico,25 infected patients with HIV-AIDS and the suspicion or with latent tuberculous infection （LTBI） who were>18 years of age and without treatment for tuberculosis（TB）,were enrolled in the ***:Median cluster of differentiation（CD4） count was 364 cells/μL and median HIV viral load was 50 copies/***,20 patients（80%） had at least one positive diagnostic test for LTBI:four（16%） had a positive tuberculin skin test and 19（76%）,a positive QuantiFERON ? -***:No agreement is found between the two diagnostic tests:k = -0.004,95%confidence interval（-0.2219,0.2210）.Additional longitudinal studies among HIV-infected populations with high prevalence of TB are needed to further assess the usefulness of IGRAs in this patient population.
