Antioxidant effects of Phyllanthus niruri tea on healthy subjects

Objective:To investigate the potential antioxidant effects of Phyllanthus niruri(***)tea on healthy ***:Five non-smoking,male healthy volunteers,20 to 31 years *** *** subject was treated twice,following a randomized crossover fashion regarding the ingestion of *** infusion(5 g/750 mL)(tea group)or 750 mL of water(control group).Fasting venous blood samples were collected prior to and at 1.2 and 4 h after infusion *** were tested for plasmatic gallic acid and ascorbic acid levels,erythrocytic catalase and superoxide dismutase activities,and intracellular DCFH fluorescence in granulocytes,monocytes and ***:Catalase and superoxide dismutase activities were not altered by tea *** levels of gallic acid were significantly increased at1,2 and 4 h after *** ingestion and plasma ascorbic acid at 1 h after *** ***:Ingestion of *** tea is associated with a slight increase in antioxidant markers in human blood(ascorbic acid and gallic acid),which may contribute to its pharmacological effects.

Recent experimental signals have led to a revival of tetraquarks,the hypothetical q~2q~2 hadronic states proposed by Jaffe in 1976 to explain the light scalar *** structures with exotic quantum numbers have indeed been observed recently,though a controversy persists as to whether these are true resonances and not merely kinematical threshold enhancements,or otherwise states not of a true q~2q~2 ***,puzzling non-exotic mesons are also often claimed to have a tetraquark ***,the corresponding model calculations are practically always carried out in pure and static bound-state approaches,ignoring completely the coupling to asymptotic two-meson states and unitarity,especially the dynamical effects *** this short paper we argue that these static predictions of real tetraquark masses are highly unreliable and provide little evidence of the very existence of such states.

The applicatio n of nano particles as selective drug delivery platforms arises as one the most promising therapeutic strategies in the biomedical field. Such systems can encapsulate drugs, prevent its premature degradation, transport and promote the drugs specific delivery to the target site. Among the different nanostructures, gold-core mesoporous silica shell (AuMSS) nanorods have been one of the most explored due to their unique physical and chemical properties. The mesoporous silica biocompatibility, high surface area that can be easily functionalized, tubular pores that can store the drugs, conjugated with the intrinsic capacity of gold nanorod to absorb near-infrared radiation, allows the combination of hyperthermia (i.e., photothermal effect) with drug delivery, making them a nanoplatforms with a huge potential for cancer therapy. Nevertheless, the successful applicati on of AuMSS nanoparticles as an effective can cer nano medicine is hindered by the uncon trolled release of the therapeutic payloads, limited blood circulation time and unfavorable pharmacokinetics. In this review, an overview of the modificati ons performed to improve the AuMSS nano rods applicati on in nanom edicine is provided, highlighting the practical approaches that enhaneed the AuMSS nanorods targeting, responsiveness to different stimuli, and blood circulation time. Further, the basics of AuMSS nano rods syn thesis procedures, gen eral properties, and its applicati on in can cer therapy are also described.

The solution of many conduction heat transfer problems is found by two-dimensional simplification using the analytical method since different points have different initial temperatures. The temperature at each point of a given element can be analyzed through the Heat equation that, in some cases, converges to analytical solutions without precision and is far from the real. However, with the application of the Finite Difference Method (FDM), it is possible to solve it numerically in a relatively fast way, providing satisfactory results for the most varied boundary conditions and diverse geometries, characteristics of heat transfer problems by conduction. This study solved two problems inside a plate with and without heat generation involved in temperature distribution. Algorithms were built with the aid of the Matlab programming language, and applied to obtain a numerical solution using the FDM numerical method. The computational and analytical solutions were then compared. Under certain conditions of the parameters involved in the phenomenon of each problem, the numerical method was very efficient for presenting errors less than or equal to 0.003 and 0.03, respectively, for cases without and with heat generation.

The climatic niche is a central concept for understanding species distribution,with current and past climate interpreted as strong drivers of present and historical-geographical *** aim is to understand whether Atlantic Forest snakes follow the general geographical pattern of increasing species climatic niche breadths with increasing *** also tested if there is a tradeoff between temperature and precipitation niche breadths of species in order to understand if species with larger breadths of one niche dimension have stronger dispersal constraints by the other due to narrower niche *** breadths were calculated by the subtraction of maximal and minimal values of temperature and precipitation across species *** implemented Phylogenetic Generalized Least Squares to measure the relationship between temperature and precipitation niche breadths and *** also tested phylogenetic signals by Lambda statistics to analyze the degree of phylogenetic niche conservatism to both niche *** niche breadths were not related to *** niche breadths decreased with increasing latitude and presented a high phylogenetic signal,that is,significant phylogenetic niche *** rejected the tradeoff hypotheses of temperature and precipitation niche *** results also indicate that precipitation should be an important ecological constraint affecting the geographical distribution of snake lineages across the South American Atlantic *** then provide a general view of how phylogenetic niche conservatism could impact the patterns of latitudinal variation of climatic niches across this biodiversity hotspot.

We construct a dynamic system model of a web of NA?animal species interacting with NP plant species using a system of coupled differential equations. The model has a parameter which represents the effect of animal on plant species that can be positive (mutualistic interaction) or negative (antagonistic interaction). We work a Multispecies Mean Field Model MMFM in which the full set of NA and NP variables are reduced to a couple of an average animal and plant species. We study the conditions for existence of the MMFM and relate the result to the difference between animal and plant species in the network. We compare our results with empirical data from pollinators (mutualistic) and herbivorous insect (antagonistic) networks. We conclude by combining analytical and empirical work that antagonistic networks present fewer animal species in relation to plant species than mutualistic ones.

even though tilapia is of great economic interest, data on the nutritional requirements of amino acids during commercial breeding stages are scarce. So, the aim of this study was to analyse the performance and muscular growth of Nile tilapia larvae (Oreochromis niloticus) fed diets containing increasing concentrations of phenylalanine. The experiment took place at the Laboratory of Aquaculture of the Grupo de estudos de Manejo na Aquicultura (GeMAq) of the Universidade estadual do Oeste do Paraná (Unioeste), Toledo, PR, Brazil, for 30 days. A total of 450 larvae, with mean initial length of 1.5 ± 0.14 cm and mean initial weight of 0.04 ± 0.004 g, were randomly distributed into 6 treatment groups with 5 repetitions (30 tanks). each experimental unit consisted of a 30 L tank containing 15 larvae. Six diets were formulated with increasing concentrations of phenylalanine (1.09, 1.24, 1.39, 1.54, 1.69 and 1.84%) and offered four times a day until apparent satiation. By the end of the experimental period, the following productivity indexes were analysed: length, weight, survival, weight gain, uniformity, feed conversion, specific growth rate and protein efficiency ratio. Three fish from each tank were collected for muscular growth analysis and the frequency of small ( 0.05) was observed in the productive performance parameters between the treatment groups. Thus, it can be concluded that the levels of phenylalanine contained in the experimental diets did not influence the performance of Nile tilapia larvae. However, there was more hyperplasia when we put 1.39% of phenylalanine in the diet.
