Dynamic transfer and driving mechanisms of the coupling and coordination of agricultural resilience and rural land use efficiency in China

The joint study of agriculture and rural areas is of great significance for safeguarding agricultural development,revitalizing rural areas,and enhancing farmers'*** paper aims to assess the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of the coupling and coordination degree of agricultural resilience and rural land use efficiency and their dynamic transfer law and driving mechanisms,based on panel data of 31 provinces(municipalities and autonomous regions)in China from 2010 to *** results showed:(1)Good coupling and coordination of agricultural resilience and rural land use efficiency,with reduced temporal differentiation degrees between regions;(2)Significant spatial autocorrelation between the overall coupling and coordination degrees of agricultural resilience and rural land use efficiency,forming cold spot and hot spot spatial patterns in the western and eastern parts,respectively,with a central transition area;(3)A spillover effect of the dynamic transfer process,with a manifested specific law as"club convergence","Matthew effect",and progressive development characteristics;(4)The key roles of the natural,social,economic,and policy indicators in the coupling and coordination development process of agricultural resilience and rural land use ***,the selected indicators showed substantial spatial differences in their influences on the coupling and coordination process between provinces.

This paper discussed the selection criteria for Ordinary urban Heritage (OUH) in Rattanakosin, the historic center of Bangkok through the case of ordinary restaurants and everyday foods. The OUH stands for an alternative approach to heritage understanding and conservation, derived from the notion of ordinary heritage, vernacular heritage, and urban heritage emphasizing the heritages of the everydayness of ordinary people. The OUHs have co-existed and inherited through the evolution of the city but are overlooked by the official conservation process. Ordinary restaurants and everyday foods were selected by 5 criteria, 1) appeared for more than 50 years;2) created, developed, and used by ordinary people;3) found as the clusters;4) able to be adapted to the urban context;5) exist until the present *** methodology applied to the analysis of the historical documents and Bangkok maps from 1887 to 1974, and the selection criteria developed from past research in another old commercial district of Bangkok were also reinvestigated with observational surveys. Ordinary restaurants and everyday foods are the outcomes representing the heritage of everyday life of ordinary people that are ubiquitously related to commercial activities.

Physiological and psychological responses to tended plant communities with varying color characteristics

Exposure to plants has been reported to promote health and reduce stress,and plant color has direct impacts on physical and mental *** used images of common types of tended plant communities in Shenyang,China,with combinations of yellow,green,and red foliage,as experimental stimuli.A total of 27 images were used as visual *** used electroencephalography to measureαwave activity(8-13 Hz)in 40 subjects while they viewed visual *** data were combined with subjective questionnaire data to analyze the relaxing effect of images of tended plant communities with different color types and proportions on *** results revealed that,although there were slight differences between the electroencephalography and psychological findings,women were significantly more relaxed than men after viewing the *** and psychological responses varied with the types and proportions of colors in the tended plant communities:those of foliage with combinations of two or three colors induced stronger responses than images with a single ***,(1)for one-color plant communities,green or yellow plant communities induced a stronger relaxation effect than red plant communities;(2)for two-color plant communities,the optimal color proportion was 55%+45%,and the green+yellow and green+red color combinations induced a stronger relaxation effect;(3)for three-color plant communities,the relaxation effect was strongest when the color proportion was 55%green+25%yellow+20%*** data would provide a plant color matching in future plant landscape design,which may be helpful for creating healthy and relaxing environments.

Changing climate intensifies heat stress,resulting in a greater risk of workplace productivity decline in timber office buildings with low internal thermal *** impact of climate change induced heat exposure on indoor workplace productivity in timber office buildings has not been extensively ***,further investigation to reduce the work capacity decline towards the end of the century is ***,heat exposure in a net zero-carbon timber building near Brussels,Belgium,was evaluated using a reproducible comparative approach with different internal thermal mass *** analysis indicated that strategies with increased thermal mass were more effective in limiting the effects of heat exposure on workplace *** medium and high thermal mass strategies reduced workplace productivity loss to 0.1%in the current,0.3%and 0.2%in the midfuture,and 4.9%and 3.9%for future *** comparison,baseline with low thermal mass yielded a decline of 2.3%,3.3%,and 8.2%.The variation in maximum and minimum wet-bulb globe temperatures were also lower for medium and high thermal mass strategies than for low thermal mass *** study findings lead to the formulation of design guidelines,identification of research gaps,and recommendations for future work.

Feasibility of condensate water recycle of split air handling unit in Chinese University buildings

Recycling the condensate water of the air conditioner could be explored as an alternative water source to con-tribute to building the green *** paper explored the condensate water production through actual mea-surement based on a split air handling unit(SAHU)in a university ***,the statistical analysis was used to analyze the recycling feasibility and the impact factors of the condensate water production in 31 Chinese provincial capital cities to obtain the recycling potential map of the condensate water generated from a *** showed that:(1)In the measurement,the amount of condensate water produced by a single split air conditioner was 1.6 kg from 12:40 to 13:***,the daily output of condensate water of the air condi-tioner with the university operation schedule could reach 52.99 kg during the main air-conditioning season.(2)Among the 31 provincial capital cities in China,the largest condensate water outputs could be found in the Hot Summer and Warm Winter zone and the Hot Summer and Cold Winter zone,with an average monthly output of 1600 kg and 1100 kg,respectively.(3)Regression analysis showed that the dry-bulb temperature and dew point temperature of outdoor air had the highest positive and significant influence on condensate water *** objective of this study is to provide theoretical guidance for the design and energy conservation evaluation of the feasibility of SAHU condensate water recycling in universities.

To quantify the seismic effectiveness of the most commonly used fishing line tie up method for securing museum collections and optimize fixed strategies for exhibitions,shaking table tests of the seismic systems used for typical museum collection replicas have been carried *** influence of body shape and fixed measure parameters on the seismic responses of replicas and the interaction behavior between replicas and fixed measures have been *** on the results,seismic effectiveness evaluation indexes of the tie up method are *** suggestions for fixed strategies are given,which provide a basis for the exhibition of delicate museum collections considering the principle of minimizing seismic responses and *** analysis results show that a larger ratio of height of mass center to bottom diameter led to more intense rocking *** the initial pretension of fishing lines was conducive to reducing the seismic responses and stress variation of the *** comprehensive consideration of the interaction forces and effective securement,it is recommended to apply 20%of breaking stress as the initial *** specific museum collections that cannot be effectively protected by the independent tie up method,an optimized strategy of a combination of fishing lines and fasteners is recommended.

The moisture performance of building envelopes largely depends on the building materials,construction tech-niques,and exposure loads from the indoor and outdoor regions.A ventilated air interlayer placed in a wall can help dehumidify the wall and indoor *** paper presents an experimental study of the heat,air,and moisture variations within the envelope wall of a chamber featuring different air interlayer settings under real outdoor air conditions during the summer of 2020 in Shanghai,***-developed humidity-controlling building mate-rials were applied to the inner building ***,humidity,wind velocity,and heat-flow sensors were placed at different positions in the middle of the *** parameters were measured and recorded in real-time under three working conditions:humidification,dehumidification,and *** experimental results show that under the ventilation working conditions,moisture content of 0.52 kg can be removed after a 2-h air layer ventilation,which can benefit the design strategy for the humidification and ventilation of dehu-midification walls.

Diverse heritage architecture characterizes Port Said in Egypt,reflecting European and Arab *** Canal heritage villas comprise 25%of the total listed heritage buildings in the ***,it is important to retrofit them,aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).By reviewing the previous literature related to the green retrofitting of heritage buildings,the(3Ts)framework can be considered a holistic framework that covers the latest trends due to its three components:targets,tools,and tasks,which help the success of the process through a holistic vision of supporting building information modeling(BIM)technologies and organizing stakeholders’*** paper aims to apply the(3Ts)framework to Suez Canal heritage villas in Port Said,*** applied study is based on how stakeholders perceive their input and decision-making,measuring the climate parameters,proposing several green retrofits,and integrating them into green *** of scenarios is conducted by utilizing the design Builder simulation ***,the Skelion plugin calculates the photovoltaic system’s(PVs)energy *** results indicated that the total energy savings could reach approximately 12%e74%and nearly 10%e73%CO₂emissions reduction without affecting heritage values.
