It was planned to build 36 million units of social welfare housing during the twelve-five2011-2015 in *** paper introduces the estimation of owner occupied dwelling sector and develops a dynamic computable general equilibrium model for China's real estate and macro-economy,to simulate the policy *** simulation results show that this policy can meet the increased requirements of housing demand due to fast urbanization and improvement of living conditions,therefore it will effectively cool down the price boom of housing ***,although the investment on social welfare housing will reduce the investment on other sectors,it will still stimulate GDP growth.

How the adoption of industry 4.0 technologies is related to participation in global and domestic value chains: Evidence from Russia

This study explores the relationships among Industry 4.0 technologies, their application areas,and the involvement of Russian manufacturing firms in global and domestic value chains. Weapply logit and multinomial logit regressions using an original survey dataset of approximately1700 Russian manufacturing firms. We make a novel contribution to the literature by uncoveringan asymmetry in adopting Industry 4.0 technologies among Russian industrial firms in domesticvalue chains (DVCs) and global value chains (GVCs). This asymmetry has the potential to impedeGVC localization and DVC internationalization. Based on our results, software automation solu-tions are the only ones demonstrating statistical significance for firms participating simulta-neously in GVCs, DVCs, and both GVCs and DVCs. Companies in DVCs demonstrate a broaderutilization of Industry 4.0 technologies across various application areas. We also identify evidenceof reshoring in DVCs, indicating that Industry 4.0 adoption encourages firms to establish enduringrelationships with domestic suppliers. Highlighting that differences in technology adoption areinfluenced by external factors, including adherence to international standards and regulatoryprinciples, we propose policy implications for developing countries. Recommendations encom-pass reducing entry barriers to DVCs, improving procurement transparency, and promotingcompetition in the digital solutions market to empower firms for seamless GVC integration.

R&D synergy between local and foreign-owned enterprises in post-communist economies

This study examines how internal research and development(R&D),external knowledge acquisition,and R&D contracted with other companies interact in local and foreign-owned enterprises in post-communist economies.A large sample of firm-level data from the Business Environment and Enterprise Performance Survey(BEEPS)across 26 postcommunist countries(including European Union(EU)members and non-EU states of Eastern Europe,Caucasian countries,and Central Asian countries)and country-level data from the Global Innovation Index and the International Property Rights Index were *** findings show that enterprises with majority foreign ownership are relatively more likely to acquire external R&*** demonstrate that the R&D behavior of enterprises with majority foreign ownership and local firms are interrelated,that is,we find a synergy *** to the results,decisions on internal R&D and the purchase of external knowledge for enterprises with majority foreign ownership are similar to those of local ***,enterprises with foreign ownership contract R&D with other companies more often if local firms conduct internal R&*** results indicate the presence of knowledge spillover and cross-learning effects in both types of enterprises in postcommunist ***,we find that the national innovation environment is not significant for the R&D intensity of enterprises with majority foreign ownership,which suggests their high dependence on the parent structures of multinational enterprises.

Upper ocean high resolution regional modeling of the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal

In this paper, effort is made to demonstrate the quality of high-resolution regional ocean circulation model in realistically simulating the circulation and variability properties of the northern Indian Ocean(10°S–25°N,45°–100°E) covering the Arabian Sea(AS) and Bay of Bengal(BoB). The model run using the open boundary conditions is carried out at 10 km horizontal resolution and highest vertical resolution of 2 m in the upper *** surface and sub-surface structure of hydrographic variables(temperature and salinity) and currents is compared against the observations during 1998–2014(17 years). In particular, the seasonal variability of the sea surface temperature, sea surface salinity, and surface currents over the model domain is studied. The highresolution model's ability in correct estimation of the spatio-temporal mixed layer depth(MLD) variability of the AS and BoB is also shown. The lowest MLD values are observed during spring(March-April-May) and highest during winter(December-January-February) seasons. The maximum MLD in the AS(BoB) during December to February reaches 150 m (67 m). On the other hand, the minimum MLD in these regions during March-April-May becomes as low as 11–12 m. The influence of wind stress, net heat flux and freshwater flux on the seasonal variability of the MLD is discussed. The physical processes controlling the seasonal cycle of sea surface temperature are investigated by carrying out mixed layer heat budget analysis. It is found that air-sea fluxes play a dominant role in the seasonal evolution of sea surface temperature of the northern Indian Ocean and the contribution of horizontal advection, vertical entrainment and diffusion processes is small. The upper ocean zonal and meridional volume transport across different sections in the AS and BoB is also computed. The seasonal variability of the transports is studied in the context of monsoonal currents.

Purpose: The main goal of this study is to outline and analyze the Danish adoption and translation of the Norwegian Publication Indicator. Design/methodology/approach: The study takes the form of a policy analysis mainly drawing on document analysis of policy papers, previously published studies and grey literature. Findings: The study highlights a number of crucial factors that relate both to the Danish process and to the final Danish result underscoring that the Danish BFI model is indeed a quite different system than its Norwegian counterpart. One consequence of these process-and design differences is the fact that the broader legitimacy of the Danish BFI today appears to be quite poor. Reasons for this include: unclear and shifting objectives throughout the process; limited willingness to take ownership of the model among stakeholders; lack of communication throughout the implementation process and an apparent underestimation of the challenges associated with the use of bibliometric indicators. Research limitation: The conclusions of the study are based on the authors’ interpretation of a long drawn and complex process with many different stakeholders involved. The format of this article does not allow for a detailed documentation of all elements, but further details can be provided upon request. Practical implications: The analysis may feed into current policy discussions on the future of the Danish BFI. Originality/value: Some elements of the present analysis have previously been published in Danish outlets, but this article represents the first publication on this issue targeting a broader international audience.

This study deals with the investigation of Nd:YAG laser-assisted ablation and plasma formation of Ti at irradiance of 0.85 GW cm-2 under Ar and Ne environment at various pressures ranging from 10-120 ***-induced breakdown spectroscopy is used to evaluate plasma parameters,whereas quartz crystal microbalance is used for ablation yield *** crater depth is evaluated by optical *** surface features are explored by scanning electron microscope(SEM) analysis and the micro-hardness is measured by a Vickers hardness *** is observed that the plasma parameters are higher in Ar than in Ne,and are strongly correlated with the ablation yield,ablation depth,surface features and hardness of laser-ablated *** parameters increase with increasing the pressure of environmental gases,attain their maxima at 40 Torr for Ar and at 60 Torr for ***,they show a decreasing trend up till a maximum pressure of 120 *** maximum value of the electron temperature(Te) is5480 K,number density(ne) is 1.46 × 1018 cm-3,ablation depth is 184 μm,ablation yield is3.9 × 1015 atoms/pulse and hardness is 300 HV in the case of Ar *** analysis reveals the growth of surface features,such as cones,ridges and pores,whose appearance is more distinct in Ar than Ne and is attributed to temperature,pressure and density gradients along with recoil pressure of the Ti plasma.

Dechlorination of chlorophenols by zero valent iron impregnated silica

Laboratory studies were conducted to find out the efficacy of uniquely prepared zero valent iron impregnated silica in transforming xenobiotic chlorophenols namely 4-chlorophenol, 2,4-dichlorophenol and 2,4,6-trichlorophenol. Continuous mode column experiments were performed to investigate the transformation of chlorophenols by varying pH, column height, flow rate and initial chlorophenol concentration. Reusability study of the zero valent iron impregnated silica was studied as well as the morphological changes and the chemical composition of the catalyst medium were also investigated. Dechlorination kinetic studies were conducted and the order of dechlorination of chlorophenols was found to be 2,4,6-trichlorophenol 〉 2,4-dichlorophenol 〉 4-chlorophenol. The optimum pH, column height and flow rate were found to be 7, 20 cm and 0.75 L/hr respectively for all chlorophenols in the reaction duration of 4 hr. Intermediates formed during dechlorination study were identified by gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy analysis. This method was applied to real pulp and paper wastewater and was found satisfactory.
