Network Pharmacology and Molecular Docking Analysis of the Mechanisms of Combined Radix Bupleuri(Chai-Hu) and Radix Paeoniae Alba(Bai-shao) Treatment in the Prevention and Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease

Objective: Radix Bupleuri and Radix Paeoniae Alba are referred to as Chai-Hu and Bai-shao, respectively, in Chinese. We used molecular docking and network pharmacological approaches to explore the active components of this Chinese herb combination which is commonly used for treating Alzheimer's disease(AD), the Chai-Hu and Bai-shao pair(CBP). Materials and Methods: The active compounds and action targets of Chai-Hu and Bai-shao were identified in the Traditional Chinese Medicine systems Pharmacology database, and the Therapeutic Target Database, Drug Bank, Gen Cards, Dis Ge NET, and Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man databases were used to identify therapeutic targets in patients with AD. To identify a common target of CBP in the treatment of AD, we used the Metascape tool to perform Gene Ontology function enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathway enrichment analyses. In addition, CBP-AD protein–protein interaction(PPI) and herb-component-target networks were created using Cytoscape 3.8.2. Molecular docking was verified using Auto Dock tools. Results: We identified 20 active compounds of CBP, 202 active targets, 1,323 disease targets, and 117 active compound disease intersection targets;the PPI network showed that the top eight key targets were AKT1, interleukin(IL) 6, JUN, MAPK1, tumor necrosis factor, TP53, vascular endothelial growth factor, and epidermal growth factor. These act mainly on the fluid shear stress, atherosclerosis, IL-17, hypoxia-inducible factor-1, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease pathways, among others, which control immune inflammation, cell proliferation, and apoptosis. Based on molecular docking results, the active components of CBP bind well to its key targets. Conclusion: Our results indicated that CBP was effective for treating AD by reducing the expression of inflammatory factors, promoting cell proliferation and differentiation, and preventing nerve cell death and anti-neuronal cell apoptosis.

Use of Patient-specific “4D” Tele-Education to Enhance Actual and Perceived Knowledge in Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) Patients

Background This study aimed to identify survival risk factors in Chinese children with hepatoblastoma(HB)and assess the effectiveness of the new treatment protocol proposed by the Chinese children's Cancer Group(CCCG)in *** A multicenter,prospective study that included 399 patients with HB from January 2015 to June 2020 was *** demographics,treatment protocols,and other related information were *** regression models and Kaplan-Meier curve methods were *** The 4-year event-free survival(EFs)and overall survival(Os)were 76.9 and 93.5%,*** 4-year EFs rates for the very-low-risk,low-risk,intermediate-risk,and high-risk groups were 100%,91.6%,81.7%,and 51.0%,*** 4-year 0s was 100%,97.3%,94.4%,and 86.8%,*** regression analysis found that age,tumor rupture(R+),and extrahepatic tumor extension(E+)were independent prognostic factors.A total of 299 patients had complete remission,and 19 *** with declining alpha-fetoprotein(AFP)>75%after the first two cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy had a better EFs and Os than those≤75%.Conclusions The survival outcome of HB children has dramatically improved since the implementation of CCCG-HB-2016 ***≥8 years,R+,and E+were independent risk factors for *** with a declining AFP>75%after the first two cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy had better EFs and Os.

Background saline nasal irrigation is an effective therapy for relieving common cold *** study aimed to investigate and explore the efficacy of physiological seawater nasal irrigation(PsNI)on children with mild and asymptomatic infection with *** This randomized controlled trial was conducted in shanghai,China,and 403 children with mild and asymptomatic infection with Omicron were *** children were allocated into the PsNI group and the control *** primary outcome was the duration of viral shedding(DVs),and the secondary outcome was the change in clinical *** The median age of all participants was 5.59(6.26)years *** DVs was significantly shorter in the PsNI group[2.40(1.13)]than in the control group[3.09(2.14)](P=0.014).The multivariable Cox regression model also showed that patients in the PsNI group had an increased probability of shorter DVs compared with patients in the control group[hazard ratio(HR),1.27;95%confidence interval(CI),1.04–1.55;P=0.017].subgroup analysis suggested that the DVs of patients without full vaccination was significantly reduced in the PsNI *** proportions of runny nose and stuffy nose were apparently reduced in the first three days in the PsNI group or the control group,but there was no evidence showing that PsNI contributes to the benefit compared with the control *** PsNI can reduce the DVs of patients with mild and asymptomatic infection with sARs-CoV-2 Omicron BA.2 variant.

Efficacy of robot-assisted thoracoscopic surgery in the treatment of pulmonary sequestration in children

Objective This study was performed to evaluate the efficacy of robot-assisted thoracoscopic surgery(RATs)in the treatment of pulmonary sequestration(Ps)in *** All video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery(VATs)and RAsT performed on patients with Ps at a single center from May 2019 to July 2023 were *** x2 and Wilcoxon tests were used to compare the perioperative outcomes between VATs and RATs *** Ninety-three patients underwent RATs while 77 patients underwent *** both two groups,one patient converted to thoracotomy and no surgical mortality *** median operation time was longer for the RATs group compared with the VATs group(75 min vs.60 min,pst tube indwelling(61.3%vs.90.9%,ps(1.0 day vs.2.0 days,pshorter postoperative length of stay(5.0 days vs.6.0 days,ps group than that in the VATs *** significant difference was found in the incidence of short-term postoperative complications(hydrothorax and pneumothorax)between two *** RATs was safe and effective in children with Ps over 6 months old and more than 7 ***,RATs led to better short-time postoperative outcome than ***-institutional studies are warranted to compare differences in long-term outcomes between RATs and VATs.
