The migration and transformation of phosphorus co.ponents in wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs)play a crucial role in the co.vergence and circulation of ***,the co.position and variation of dissolved organic phosphorus(DOP)in WWTPs were unclear because of its co.plex nature,hindering its efficient *** this study,the DOP species and their transformation during the treatment process in WWTP were co.prehensively ***,two enrichment methods were assessed for their effectiveness at facilitating wastewater analysis:lyophilization and aluminum salt *** salt precipitation was found to be better because its application allowed 31P nuclear magnetic resonance(31P NMR)spectrosco.y to identify more species in the seco.dary effluent:orthophosphate(Ortho-P)(81.1%–89.3%of the dissolved total phosphorus),pyrophosphates(Pyro-P)(0%–2.3%),orthophosphate monoesters(Mono-P)(7.0%–10.77%),orthophosphate diesters(Di-P)(1.0%–2.96%),and phosphonate(Phos-P)(1.7%–5.16%).Furthermore,the variation and transformation mechanism of phosphorus,particularly those of DOP,during the entire sewage-treatment process were *** the treatment steps,biological treatment co.bined tertiary treatment achieved better DOP removal ***,biological treatment mainly removed Mono-P and Di-P with removal efficiencies of 33.3%and 41.7%co.pared with the effluent of the grit ***-P has higher bioavailability and is more easily co.verted and utilized by microorganisms than ***,Phos-P,with low bioavailability,was hardly utilized by microorganisms,which showed only 18.4%removal efficiency in biological *** tertiary treatment,co.gulation process exhibited higher removal ability of Ortho-P(69.1%)and partial removal efficiencies of DOP,resulting in an increase in the DOP proportion in *** addition,Phos-P co.ld not be effectively removed through the biological treatment and was only partially reduced via the adsorption pro

Chemical oxygen demand oxidation via sustained-release persulfate balls: a rate-co.patibility study of flow velocity, releasing, and oxidation

Identification of chemical oxygen demand(co.)in municipal solid waste(MSW)landfill leachates is a challenging *** paper investigated the feasibility of using sodium persulfate(PS),a strong oxidant,as a permeable reactive barrier(PRB)filling ***,sustained-release persulfate balls were manufactured to adjust the release rate of persulfate,the oxidation *** addition,Fe(II)-loaded activated carbon(Fe-AC)was used to help with an even distribution of Fe(II)in the porous medium(PRB in this case).Then,the oxidation efficiency and kinetic rate of co. removal by the sustained-release balls were subjected to batch tests.A mass ratio of 1:1.4:0.24:0.7 for PS:cement:sand:water was the most efficient for co. removal(95%).The breakthrough curve for a 5 mm sustained-release ball revealed that the retardation factor was 1.27 and that the hydrodynamic dispersion co.fficient was 15.6 cm^(2)/*** co.responding half-life of co. oxidation was 0.43 d,which was co.parable with the half-life of PS release from sustained-release balls(0.56 d).The sustained-release persulfate balls were shown to be an eco.omical material with a simple recipe and production method when catalyzed by *** with cutting-edge methods,sustained-release balls used in PRBs offer significant advantages in terms of both effectiveness and eco.omy for the preparation of sustained-release and catalytic *** results verified the feasibility of using sustained-release persulfate balls as a PRB material for co. removal.

Distribution generation(DG)technology based on a variety of renewable energy technologies has developed rapidly.A large number of multi-type DG are co.nected to the distribution network(DN),resulting in a decline in the stability of DN *** is urgent to find a method that can effectively co.nect multi-energy DG to ***(PV),wind power generation(WPG),fuel cell(FC),and micro gas turbine(MGT)are co.sidered in this paper.A multi-objective optimization model was established based on the life cycle co.t(LCC)of DG,voltage quality,voltage fluctuation,system network loss,power deviation of the tie-line,DG pollution emission index,and meteorological index weight of ***-objective artificial bee co.ony algorithm(MOABC)was used to determine the optimal location and capacity of the four kinds of DG access DN,and co.pared with the other three heuristic *** tests based on IEEE 33 test node and IEEE 69 test node show that in IEEE 33 test node,the total voltage deviation,voltage fluctuation,and system network loss of DN decreased by 49.67%,7.47%and 48.12%,respectively,co.pared with that without DG *** the IEEE 69 test node,the total voltage deviation,voltage fluctuation and system network loss of DN in the MOABC co.figuration scheme decreased by 54.98%,35.93%and 75.17%,respectively,co.pared with that without DG co.figuration,indicating that MOABC can reasonably plan the capacity and location of *** the maximum trade-off between DG eco.omy and DN operation stability.

Advanced wastewater treatment with microalgae-indigenous bacterial interactions

Microalgal-indigenous bacterial wastewater treatment(MBWT)emerges as a promising approach for the co.current removal of nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P).Despite its potential,the prevalent use of MBWT in batch systems limits its broader ***,the success of MBWT critically depends on the stable self-adaptation and synergistic interactions between microalgae and indigenous bacteria,yet the underlying biological mechanisms are not fully *** we explore the viability and microbial dynamics of a co.tinuous flow microalgae-indigenous bacteria advanced wastewater treatment system(CFMBAWTS)in processing actual seco.dary effluent,with a focus on varying hydraulic retention times(HRTs).The research highlights a stable,mutually beneficial relationship between indigenous bacteria and *** and indigenous bacteria can create an optimal environment for each other by providing essential co.actors(like iron,vitamins,and indole-3-acetic acid),oxygen,dissolved organic matter,and *** co.laboration leads to effective microbial growth,enhanced N and P removal,and energy *** study also unco.ers crucial metabolic pathways,functional genes,and patterns of microbial ***,the effluent NH4 t-N and P levels co.plied with the Chinese national Class-II,Class-V,Class-IA,and Class-IB wastewater discharge standards when the HRT was reduced from 15 to 6 *** results,including the highest rates of co. fixation(1.23 g L^(-1)),total energy yield(32.35 kJ L^(-1)),and the maximal lipid(33.91%)and carbohydrate(41.91%)co.tent,were observed at an HRT of 15 ***,this study not only co.firms the feasibility of CFMBAWTS but also lays a crucial foundation for enhancing our understanding of this technology and propelling its practical application in wastewater treatment plants.

A simple atomization approach enables monolayer dispersion of nano graphenes in cementitious co.posites with excellent strength gains

Carbon nano additives(CNAs)are critical to achieving the unique properties of functionalized co.posites,however,co.trolling the dispersion of CNAs in material matrix is always a challenging *** this study,a simple atomization approach was successfully developed to promote the dispersion efficiency of graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs)in cement *** atomization approach can be integrated with the direct,indirect and co.bined ultrasonic stirrings in a homemade automatic stirring-atomization *** and microstructure tests were performed on hardened cement pastes blended with GNPs in different stirring and mixing *** show that the direct ultrasonic stirrings enabled more homogeneous dispersions of GNP particles with a smaller size for a longer *** atomized droplets with the mean size of~100μm largely mitigated GNPs’*** GNPs were observed in the cement matrix with the strength gain by up to 54%,and the total porosity decrease by 21%in 0.3 wt%GNPs *** greatly enhanced dispersion efficiency of GNPs in cement also raised the cement *** work provides an effective and manpower saving technique toward dispersing CNAs in engineering materials with great industrialization prospects.

In order to explore an efficient and green method to deal with nitrobenzene(NB)pollutant,reduced graphene oxide(r GO)as an electron shuttle was applied to enhance the extracellular electron transfer(EET)process of Geobacter sulfurreducens,which was a typical electrochemically active bacteria(EAB).In this study,r GO biosynthesis was achieved via the reduction of graphene oxide(GO)by *** PCA within 3 ***,the r GOPCA co.bining system co.pletely reduced 50-200μmol/L of NB to aniline as end product within one *** characterization revealed that PCA cells were partly wrapped by rGO,and therefore the distance of electron transfer between strain PCA and r GO material was ***,the ID/IGof GO,r GO,and r GO-PCA co.bining system were 0.990,1.293 and 1.31,***,highest currents were observed in r GO-PCA-NB as 12.950μA/-12.560μA at -408 m V/156 m V,attributing to the faster electron transfer efficiency in EET ***,the NB reduction was mainly due to:(I)direct EET process from *** PCA to NB;(II)r GO served as electron shuttle and accelerated electron transfer to NB,which was the main degradation ***,the biosynthesis of r GO via GO reduction by Geobacter promoted the NB removal process,which provided a facile strategy to alleviate the problematic nitroaromatic pollution in the environment.

Tourmaline guiding the electric field and dechlorination pathway of 2,3-dichlorophenol by Desulfitobacterium hafniense

The dehalogenation of organohalides has been a research hotspot in bioremediation field;however,the influence of tourmaline,a natural ore that can generate spontaneous electric field,on organohalide-respiring bacteria(OHRB)and their dechlorination process is not well *** this study,the effect and mechanism of tourmaline on the reductive dechlorination of 2,3-dichlorophenol(2,3-DCP)by Desulfitobacterium hafniense DCB-2Twere *** characterization results co.firmed that tourmaline had good stability and the optimal dosage of tourmaline was 2.5 g/L,which shortened the total time required for dechlorination reaction to 72 ***,tourmaline amendment also increased the proportion of 2-chlorophenol(2-CP)from 18%to 30%of end products,while that of 3-CP decreased *** theoretical calculations showed that the bond charge of the orthosubstituted chlorine declined from-0.179 to-0.067,and that of meta-substituted chlorine increased from-0.111 to-0.129,which indicated that the spontaneous electric field of tourmaline affected the charge distribution of 2,3-DCP and was more co.ducive to the generation of ***,tourmaline with the spontaneous electric field affected the reductive dechlorination pathway of Desulfitobacterium,and the tourmaline-OHRB co.bining system might serve as a novel strategy for the bioremediation of environments polluted with chlorinated phenols.

High-frequency Resonance Analysis and Impedance Reshaping co.trol of MMC-HVDC System Based on Frequency co.pling Impedance Model

In recent years, high-frequency resonance (HFR) events occurred in several modular multilevel co.verter based high-voltage direct current (MMC-HVDC) projects. The time delay of an MMC-HVDC system is the critical factor that induces HFR. The frequency co.pling affects the impedance characteristics of an MMC and further deteriorates system stability. Therefore, in this paper, a multi-input multi-output admittance model of an MMC-HVDC system is developed to analyze its frequency characteristics. The effects of current loop, power loop, phase-locked loop, and operating point on the MMC frequency co.pling degree are analyzed in detail. Meanwhile, to further suppress HFR in the MMC-HVDC system, an enhanced impedance reshaping co.trol strategy based on the equivalent single-input single-output impedance model is proposed. Finally, the accuracy of the enhanced impedance model and the effectiveness of the impedance reshaping co.trol are verified by electromagnetic transient simulations in PSCAD.

Exploring mechanism of hidden,steep obliquely inclined bedding landslides using a 3DEC model:A case study of the Shanyang landslide in Shaanxi Province,china

Catastrophic geological disasters frequently occur on slopes with obliquely inclined bedding structures(also referred to as obliquely inclined bedding slopes),where the apparent dip sliding is not readily *** phenomenon has beco.e a focal point in landslide ***,there is a lack of studies on the failure modes and mechanisms of hidden,steep obliquely inclined bedding *** study investigated the Shanyang landslide in Shaanxi Province,*** field investigations,laboratory tests of geotechnical parameters,and the 3DEC software,this study developed a numerical model of the landslide to analyze the failure process of such *** findings indicate that the Shanyang landslide primarily crept along a weak interlayer under the action of *** landslide,initially following a dip angle with the support of a stable inclined rock mass,shifted direction under the influence of argillization in the weak interlayer,moving towards the apparent dip *** slide resistance effect of the karstic dissolution zone was increasingly significant during this process,with lateral friction being the primary resistance force.A reduction in the lateral friction due to karstic dissolution made the apparent dip sliding characteristics of the Shanyang landslide more ***,deformations such as bending and uplift at the slope’s foot suggest that the main slide resistance shifts from lateral friction within the karstic dissolution zone to the slope foot’s resistance force,leading to the eventual buckling failure of the *** study unveils a novel failure mode of apparent dip creep-buckling in the Shanyang landslide,highlighting the critical role of lateral friction from the karstic dissolution zone in its failure *** insights offer a valuable reference for mitigating risks and preventing disasters related to obliquely inclined bedding landslides.
