Intestinal cancer is one of the most frequent and lethal types of *** intestinal cancer using organoids has emerged in the last *** intestinal cancer organoids are physiologically relevant in vitro models,which provides an unprecedented opportunity for fundamental and applied research in colorectal cancer.“Human intestinal cancer organoids”is the first set of guidelines on human intestinal organoids in China,jointly drafted and agreed by the experts from the Chinese Society for Cell Biology and its branch society:the Chinese Society for Stem Cell *** standard specifies terms and definitions,technical requirements,test methods for human intestinal cancer organoids,which apply to the production and quality control during the process of manufacturing and testing of human intestinal cancer *** was released by the Chinese Society for Cell Biology on 24 September *** hope that the publication of this standard will guide institutional establishment,acceptance and execution of proper practocal protocols,and accelerate the international standardization of human intestinal cancer organoids for clinical development and therapeutic applications.

Background: To date, there is no effective medicine to treat coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and the antiviral efficacy of arbidol in the treatment for COVID-19 remained equivocal and controversial. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of arbidol tablets in the treatment of ***: This was a prospective, open-label, controlled and multicenter investigator-initiated trial involving adult patients with confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. Patients were stratified 1:2 to either standard-of-care (SOC) or SOC plus arbidol tablets (oral administration of 200 mg per time, three times a day for 14 days). The primary endpoint was negative conversion of SARS-CoV-2 within the first week. The rates and 95% confidential intervals were calculated for each ***: A total of 99 patients with laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection were enrolled;66 were assigned to the SOC plus arbidol tablets group, and 33 to the SOC group. The negative conversion rate of SARS-CoV-2 within the first week in patients receiving arbidol tablets was significantly higher than that of the SOC group (70.3% [45/64]vs. 42.4% [14/33];difference of conversion rate 27.9%;95% confidence interval [CI], 7.7%-48.1%;P=0.008). Compared to those in the SOC group, patients receiving arbidol tablets had a shorter duration of clinical recovery (median 7.0 daysvs. 12.0 days;hazard ratio [HR]: 1.877, 95% CI: 1.151-3.060,P=0.006), symptom of fever (median 3.0 daysvs. 12.0 days;HR: 18.990, 95% CI: 5.350-67.410,P 0.05). The most common adverse event in the arbidol tablets group was the elevation of transaminase (5/200, 2.5%), and no one withdrew from the study due to adverse events or disease progression.C

Background Moyamoya disease (MMD) is a rare and complex cerebrovascular disorder characterized by the progressive narrowing of the internal carotid arteries and the formation of compensatory collateral vessels. The etiology of MMD remains enigmatic, making diagnosis and management challenging. The MOYAOMICS project was initiated to investigate the molecular underpinnings of MMD and explore potential diagnostic and therapeutic *** The MOYAOMICS project employs a multidisciplinary approach, integrating various omics technologies, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, to comprehensively examine the molecular signatures associated with MMD pathogenesis. Additionally, we will investigate the potential influence of gut microbiota and brain-gut peptides on MMD development, assessing their suitability as targets for therapeutic strategies and dietary interventions. Radiomics, a specialized field in medical imaging, is utilized to analyze neuroimaging data for early detection and characterization of MMD-related brain changes. Deep learning algorithms are employed to differentiate MMD from other conditions, automating the diagnostic process. We also employ single-cellomics and mass cytometry to precisely study cellular heterogeneity in peripheral blood samples from MMD *** The MOYAOMICS project represents a significant step toward comprehending MMD’s molecular underpinnings. This multidisciplinary approach has the potential to revolutionize early diagnosis, patient stratification, and the development of targeted therapies for MMD. The identification of blood-based biomarkers and the integration of multiple omics data are critical for improving the clinical management of MMD and enhancing patient outcomes for this complex disease.

Pachytriton,and Paramesotriton,are primarily distributed across East Asia,displaying a broad range of environmental adaptations,including generalists inhabiting both lotic and lentic habitats and lotic *** recent studies on their biogeographic history,how these species adapted to geographical changes remains *** this study,divergence times and reconstructed ancestral traits were estimated based on phylogenetic analysis of mitochondrial and nuclear DNA sequences,totaling 4048 *** indicated that the divergence between lotic-specialized and generalist species occurred during the middle to late Miocene(95% confidence interval(CI):16-13 million years ago(Ma)),correlating with the long-lasting arid period(14-12 Ma)and uplift of the Wuyi-Nanling mountains(15-11 Ma).Ancestral trait reconstruction revealed notable morphological changes associated with the emergence of lotic-specialized ***,male body size increased from 130 mm to 140 mm,and epibranchial traits shifted from thin to thick ***,variation in tongue movability and skin texture were observed among lotic *** morphological shift is hypothesized to have an ecological basis,facilitating adaptation to specific environmental ***,this study represents the first comprehensive attempt to elucidate the evolution of ancestral traits among divergent species of modern Asian newts,providing a deeper understanding of their adaptive responses to historical geographical and climatic changes.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related mortality in both developed and developing *** incidence of pancreatic cancer in China accounts for about a quater of the global incidence,and the epidemiological characteristics and therapeutic strategies differ due to social,economic,cultural,environmental,and public health ***-domestic guidelines do not reflect the clinicopathologic characteristics and treat-ment patterns of Chinese ***,in 2018,the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO)organized a panel of senior experts from all sub-specialties within the field of pancreatic oncology to compile the Chinese guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic *** guidelines were made based on both the Western and Eastern clinical evidence and updated every one or two *** experts made consensus judg-ments and classified evidence-based recommendations into various grades according to the regional differences,the accessibility of diagnostic and treatment resources,and health economic indexes in *** we present the latest version of the guidelines,which covers the diagnosis,treatment,and follow-up of pancreatic *** guidelines might standardize the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer in China and will encourage oncologists to design and conduct more clinical trials about pancreatic cancer.

The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)can be caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection,and has led to millions of deaths among more than 100 million infected people around the world according to the declaration from World Health *** immune response of both the innate and adaptive immune systems is subsistent on COVID-19 patients,of which the degree are associated with disease severity,lung damage and long term functional *** treatment options have included antiretroviral drugs,anti-inflammatory factors,antibodies,immune checkpoint inhibitors,and convalescent plasma *** recently,mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)therapy has been explored for the management and control of COVID-19,particularly with the aim of preventing or at least mitigating respiratory *** the safety and efficacy of stem cell therapy have been validated in multiple phase I–III clinical trials,to date,no standardized stem cell preparation,administration dosage or interval,product QA/QC testing,storage,transportation,or disposal protocols have been *** present paper proposes a systematic methodology that addresses all the foregoing process steps and evaluation criteria for the efficacious and safe administration of MSCs in the treatment of patients infected with COVID-19.
