Evolution of N=20,28,50 shell closures in the 20≤Z≤30 region in deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum

Magicity,or shell closure,plays an important role in our understanding of complex nuclear *** this work,we employ one of the state-of-the-art density functional theories,the deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum(DRHBc)with the density functional PC-PK1,to investigate the evolution of the N=20,28,50 shell closures in the 20≤Z≤30 *** show how these three conventional shell closures evolve from the proton drip line to the neutron drip line by studying the charge radii,two-neutron separation energies,two-neutron gaps,quadrupole deformations,and single-particle *** particular,we find that in the 21≤Z≤27 region,the N=50 shell closure disappears or becomes quenched,mainly due to the deformation ***,both experimental data and theoretical predictions indicate that the N=28 shell closure disappears in the Mn isotopic chain,mainly due to the deformation *** DRHBc theory predicts the existence of the N=20 shell closure in the Ca,Sc,and Ti isotopic chains,but the existing data for the Ti isotopes suggest the contrary,and therefore further research is needed.

A Discussion on Whether 15-20C Are All Skin Nuclei via Isospin-dependent Boltzmann-Langevin Equation

A new attempt of calculation for the toted reaction cross sections （σR） has been carried out within the isospindependent Boltzmann-Langevin equation in the intermediate energy heavy-ion collision of isotopes of C. The σR of both stable and exotic nuclei are reproduced rather well. The incident energy and isospin dependencies of σR have been investigated. It is found that the isospin effect is comparatively remarkable at intermediate energy. It is also found that 15-18C are neutron skin nuclei but for 19C and 20C we cannot draw a conclusion whether they have halo structures.

Ground-State Bands of Fm and No Isotopes in Cluster Model

We investigate the ground-state rotational bands of nuclei with Z 〉 100 using cluster model proposed by Buck et al. [Phys. Rev. Left. 94 （2005） 202501]. The core-duster decomposition of each nucleus is determined by the corresponding electric quadrupole transition strength B（E2 ： 2^＋ → 0^＋）. The theoretical spectra of fermium and nobelium isotopes are compared with available experimental data. Good agreement between model and data is obtained.

Solvation of halogen ions in aqueous solutions at 500 K–600 K under 100 atm

Structural properties of the pure water and halogen solutions at high temperatures and pressures are studied by using the molecular dynamics simulations and quantum molecular simulations. The related characters are calculated as functions of temperature and pressure. The results show that the hydrogen bonded networks become looser as temperature increases,with the collapse of the traditional tetrahedral structure. It is similar to the concentration-dependent collapse in the Na Cl solutions. However, adding other halogen elements has no further effects on the already weakly bonded water *** the phase changing points, the process of hydration is evident for the bigger ions, so that the bigger the ion is, the smaller a cluster is formed.

Entrance Channel Dependence of the Isospin Effects of the nuclear Stopping in Intermediate Energy heavy-ion Collisions

The entrance channel dependence of the isospin effects of nuclear stopping in intermediate energy heavy-ion collisions has been studied by using an isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics with three different kinds of symmetry *** is shown that nuclear stopping is sensitive to the beam energy,the impact parameter and the mass of the colliding system,specially very sensitive to the isospin dependence of in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross section,but insensitive to symmetry potential and the ratio of neutron to proton of colliding *** this *** is proposed that nuclear stopping can be used as a new probe to extract the information on the isospin dependence of in-medium nucleon-nucleon cross section in intermediate energy heavy-ion collisions.

Positions and Widths of Anticrossings for Potassium Rydberg Stark States

The B-spline expansion technique is applied to study the anticrossings for potassium Rydberg states in a static electric field. The results of our calculation indicate that the antierossings are caused mainly by the core interaction or by the fine structure interaction. Our results for the positions and the widths of the anticrossings are in good agreement with experimental data.

Study of Microwave Multiphoton Transition of Rydberg Potassium Atom by Using B-Spline

Abstract The B-spline expansion technique and time-dependent two-level approach are applied to study the interaction between the microwave field and potassium atoms in a static electric field. We obtain theoretical multiphoton resonance spectra that can be compared with the experimental data. We also obtain the time evolution of the final state in different microwave fields.

The relativistic microscopic optical potential in the asymmetric nuclear matter is studied in the framework of the Dirac Brueckner-Hartree-Fock method. A new decomposition of the Dirac structure of the nuclear self-energy in nuclear matter is adopted. The self-energy of a nucleon with E > 0 in nuclear matter is calculated with the G matrix in the Hartree-Fock approach. The optical potential of a nucleon in the nuclear medium is identified with the nucleon self-energy. The energy and asymmetric parameter dependence of the relativistic optical potentials for proton and neutron are discussed. The resulting Schroedinger equivalent potentials have reasonable behaviors of the energy dependence. The asymmetric parameter dependence of relativistic optical potentials and Schroedinger potentials are emphasized.

The low-lying rotational bands of the neutron-rich nucleus ^(172)Tm

The microscopic mechanism of four experimentally observed bands in 172Tm is investigated using the particle-number conserving method of the cranked shell model with monopole and quadrupole paring *** experimental results,including the moments of inertia and angular momentum alignments of four bands in 172Tm are reproduced well by the particle-number conserving *** ω variation of the occupation probability of each cranked orbital and the contribution to moment of inertia from each cranked orbital are *** unobserved low-lying bands of 2-quansiparticles in 172Tm are predicted.
