Objective:Foodborne diseases pose a significant public health concern *** study aims to analyze the correlation between disease prevalence and climatic conditions,forecast the pattern of foodborne disease outbreaks,and offer insights for effective prevention and control strategies and optimizing health resource allocation policies in Guizhou ***:This study utilized theχ^(2) test and four comprehensive prediction models to analyze foodborne disease outbreaks recorded in the Guizhou Foodborne Disease Outbreak system between 2012 and *** best-performing model was chosen to forecast the trend of foodborne disease outbreaks in Guizhou Province,***:Significant variations were observed in the incidence of foodborne disease outbreaks in Guizhou Province concerning various meteorological factors(all P≤0.05).Among all models,the SARIMA-ARIMAX combined model demonstrated the most accurate predictive performance(RMSE:Prophet model=67.645,SARIMA model=3.953,ARIMAX model=26.544,SARIMA-ARIMAX model=26.196;MAPE:Prophet model=42.357%,SARIMA model=37.740%,ARIMAX model=15.289%,SARIMA-ARIMAX model=13.961%).Conclusion:The analysis indicates that foodborne disease outbreaks in Guizhou Province demonstrate distinct seasonal *** is recommended to concentrate prevention efforts during peak *** SARIMA-ARIMAX hybrid model enhances the precision of monthly forecasts for foodborne disease outbreaks,offering valuable insights for future prevention and control strategies.

Situational Analysis of Malaria Incidence Under Integrated Malaria service in Hotspot Township-Minbya Township,Rakhine State,Myanmar,2017–2020

Introduction:Malaria is a significant public health concern and tropical disease,particularly affecting Myanmar within the Greater Mekong *** annual parasite index(API)exceeds 1 per 10,000 population in the northern seven townships of Rakhine State,with Minbya Township designated as a highburden area for malaria by the World health Organization(WHO)Myanmar and the National Malaria Control Programme(NMCP).Since 2017,the Malaria reduction intensification plan has been in place in this township to combat the high disease transmission *** study aims to assess the malaria epidemiology in Minbya Township from 2017 to 2020 under the intensification plan for elimination,as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of the integrated strategy in reducing cases in hotspot ***:The study utilized a surveillance study design to collect secondary data from the Malaria surveillance system(MSS)and the epidemiologic monitoring dashboard of Minbya Township,Maruk-U District,located in Rakhine ***:Since 2017,the Malaria prevention and control(P&C)Program in Minbya Township has successfully decreased malaria morbidity,eliminated malaria-related deaths,and bolstered malaria testing capabilities through the participation of village health volunteers(VHVs).Approximately 87%of malaria prevention and control services are executed by the township’s malaria elimination and disease control programs,with additional support from *** API dropped from 13 in 2017 to 2.5 in 2020,with Plasmodium vivax being the most prevalent malaria species,accounting for 55%of ***:The study suggests that early diagnosis and promotion of artemisinin-based combination treatment(ACT),along with strategic planning including expanding active case detection in rural health centers and implementing a communitybasedcommunitybased integrated healthcare approach,are effective and efficient strategies for malaria elimination.

Caffeine Exposure Causes Immune Dysfunction and Intrauterine Growth Restriction Retardation in Rats

This study was conducted to assess the effects of caffeine on the dam and the physical development of rat *** Sprague-Dawley rats(20 per dose group)were administered caffeine by gavage at 0(control),5,20,and 80 mg/kg body weight(bw)daily from gestational day 6 through lactation using caffeine dissolved in *** developmental toxicity of caffeine was *** in the 80 mg/kg bw group exhibited splenic *** litter weights were significantly lower in the 20 and 80 mg/kg bw groups than the untreated control(P<0.05),with a greater reduction in the higher dose *** number of female offspring was reduced in the 20 and 80 mg/kg bw groups(P<0.05).Some of the offspring were eaten by the dam following birth,which accounted for half of the litters in the 80 mg/kg bw group(P<0.05).Offspring body weight in the 80 mg/kg bw group was lower than that in the control during the lactation period(P<0.05).Exposure to caffeine during pregnancy can cause maternal immune dysfunction and intrauterine growth restriction retardation(IUGR);the developmental toxicity of caffeine varied with gender,as females were more sensitive than *** no observed adverse effect level was 5 mg/kg bw based on the IUGR.

Epidemiological Characterization of Dengue Fever—Yunnan Province,china,2010-2021

Objective:The goal of this study is to analyze the epidemiological patterns of dengue fever across different districts and counties in Yunnan Province from 2010 to ***:In this study,we employed joinpoint regression analysis,spatial autocorrelation analysis,and space-time scan analysis to illustrate the spatiotemporal propagation and demographic influence of dengue fever,using both graphical and tabular presentations to clearly demonstrate the ***:Yunnan Province reported 14,098 cases of dengue fever during the period from 2010 to *** these,11,513 cases were caused by local transmission,2,566 were imported internationally,and 19 were inter-provincial *** trends emerged,revealing a surge in incidences during the summer and autumn *** sex ratio of male to female cases was 1:0.88,with a significant majority of 82.00%of cases involving individuals belonging to the age group of *** service workers constituted the most impacted occupational group,forming 20.96%of total cases.A spatio-temporal scan identified significant clustering of dengue fever cases across space and time,with the most pronounced cluster observed in southern Yunnan,primarily between 2015 and ***:Dengue fever in Yunnan Province manifests as biennial outbreaks,underscoring the necessity for increased surveillance,particularly in counties bordering other regions.

Mobile device-based Reporting System for Sichuan Earthquake-affected Areas Infectious Disease Reporting in china

Objective To describe the experience of the china cdc in rebuilding reporting capacity and response to the Sichuan earthquake through use of mobile phones. Methods Software engineering and business modeling are used to design and develop a cell phone-based reporting system. The PDA-based system used by the Field Adapted Survey Toolkit （FAST） was deployed Results Approximately one week after deployment of the mobile phone-based reporting system, the cumulative reporting rate reached the same level （81%） as the same period in 2007. In the Sichuan provincial pilot investigation for infectious disease, 1339 records were collected using PDAs developed and deployed by FAST. Conclusion The mobile-based system is recognized as a quick and effective response solution to this public health challenge. Our experience suggests that mobile-based data collection tools provide faster, cleaner, standardized, and shareable data for critical decision making. This system could be adapted as complementary to national infectious disease reporting systems after natural disaster occurrences.
