Background:Following the short-term outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)in December 2022 in China,clinical data on kidney transplant recipients(KTRs)with COVID-19 are ***:We conducted a single-center retrospective study to describe the clinical features,complications,and mortality rates of hospitalized KTRs infected with COVID-19 between Dec.16,2022 and Jan.31,*** patients were followed up until Mar.31,***:A total of 324 KTRs with COVID-19 were *** median age was 49 *** median time between the onset of symptoms and admission was 13 ***,azvudine,and nirmatrelvir/ritonavir were administered to 67(20.7%),11(3.4%),and 148(45.7%)patients,***-nine(9.0%)patients were treated with more than one antiviral ***-eight(14.8%)patients were treated with tocilizumab and 53(16.4%)patients received baricitinib *** acute kidney injury(AKI)occurred in 81(25.0%)patients and 39(12.0%)patients were admitted to intensive care *** infections were observed in 55(17.0%)***(15.4%)patients lost their *** 28-d mortality rate of patients was 9.0%and 42(13.0%)patients died by the end of *** Cox regression analysis identified that cerebrovascular disease,AKI incidence,interleukin(IL)-6 level of>6.8 pg/mL,daily dose of corticosteroids of>50 mg,and fungal infection were all associated with an increased risk of death for hospitalized ***:Our findings demonstrate that hospitalized KTRs with COVID-19 are at high risk of *** administration of immunomodulators or the late application of antiviral drugs does not improve patient survival,while higher doses of corticosteroids may increase the death risk.

Introduction:Breast cancer is a leading tumor with a high mortality in *** study examined the spatio-temporal distribution of the incidence of female breast cancer in Shenzhen between 2007 and ***:The data on breast cancer incidence were obtained from the Shenzhen Cancer Registry *** describe the temporal trend,the average annual percentage change(AAPC) was analyzed using a pinpoint regression *** autocorrelation and a retrospective spatio-temporal scan approach were used to detect the spatio-temporal cluster distribution of breast cancer ***:Breast cancer ranked first among different types of cancer in women in Shenzhen between 2007 and 2012 with a crude incidence of 20.0/100,000 *** age-standardized rate according to the world standard population was 21.1/100,000 in 2012,with an AAPC of 11.3%.The spatial autocorrelation analysis showed a spatial correlation characterized by the presence of a hotspot in south-central Shenzhen,which included the eastern part of Luohu District(Donghu and Liantang Streets) and Yantian District(Shatoujiao,Haishan,and Yantian Streets).Five spatio-temporal cluster areas were detected between 2010 and 2012,one of which was a Class 1 cluster located in southwestern Shenzhen in 2010,which included Yuehai,Nantou,Shahe,Shekou,and Nanshan Streets in Nanshan District with an incidence of 54.1/100,000 and a relative risk of 2.41;the other four were Class 2 clusters located in Yantian,Luohu,Futian,and Longhua Districts with a relative risk ranging from 1.70 to ***:This study revealed the spatio-temporal cluster pattern for the incidence of female breast cancer in Shenzhen,which will be useful for a better allocation of health resources in Shenzhen.

Background Clonorchiasis and opisthorchiasis, caused by the liver flukesClonorchis sinensis andOpisthorchis viverrini respectively, represent significant neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in Asia. The co-existence of these pathogens in overlapping regions complicates effective disease control strategies. This study aimed to clarify the distribution and interaction of these diseases within Southeast *** We systematically collated occurrence records of human clonorchiasis (n = 1809) and opisthorchiasis (n = 731) across the Southeast Asia countries. Utilizing species distribution models incorporating environmental and climatic data, coupled machine learning algorithms with boosted regression trees, we predicted and distinguished endemic areas for each fluke species. Machine learning techniques, including geospatial analysis, were employed to delineate the boundaries between these *** Our analysis revealed that the endemic range ofC. sinensis andO. viverrini in Southeast Asia primarily spans across part of China, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. During the period from 2000 to 2018, we identifiedC. sinensis infections in 84 distinct locations, predominantly in southern China (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) and northern Vietnam. In a stark contrast,O. viverrini was more widely distributed, with infections documented in 721 locations across Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Critical environmental determinants were quantitatively analyzed, revealing annual mean temperatures ranging between 14 and 20 °C in clonorchiasis-endemic areas and 24–30 °C in opisthorchiasis regions (P < 0.05). The machine learning model effectively mapped a distinct demarcation zone, demonstrating a clear separation between the endemic areas of these two liver flukes with AUC from 0.9 to1. Dear Editor,Protein histidine methylation has been found to be a widespread post-translational modification(PTM)in mammalian cells and represents more than 13%of all protein methylation events in the human methylome(Ning et al.,2016;Kapell and Jakobsson,2021).Recently,we and other groups independently identified METTL9 as the first broad-specificity histidine N1 methyltransferase in mammals(Davydova et al.,2021;Lv et al.,2021).METTL9 methylates a variety of substrates with a common x-His-x-His motif(His is for histidine;the second x is preferably small amino acids:A/C/G/S)and catalyzes methyl transfer to the last histidine.
