Volatile organic compounds(VOCs) as precursors of ozone and secondary organic aerosols can cause adverse effects on the environment and human ***,knowledge of the VOC vertical profile in the lower troposphere of major Chinese cities is poorly *** this study,tethered balloon flights were conducted over the juncture of BeijingTianjin-Hebei in China during the winter of ***-six vertical air samples were collected on selected heavy and light pollution days at altitudes of 50-1000 meters above ground *** average,the concentration of total VOCs(TVOCs) at 50-100 m was 4.9 times higher than at 900-1000 m(46.9 ppbV vs.8.0 ppbV).TVOC concentrations changed rapidly from altitudes of 50-100 to 401-500 m,with an average decrease of 72%.With further altitude increase,the TVOC concentration gradually *** xylene/benzene ratios of 34/36 air samples were lower than 1.1,and the benzene/toluene ratios of 34/36 samples were higher than 0.4,indicating the occurrence of aged air mass during the sampling *** contributed most in terms of both OH loss rate(39%-71%) and ozone formation potential(40%-72%),followed by aromatics(6%-38%).Finally,the main factors affecting the vertical distributions of VOCs were local source emission and negative dispersion conditions on polluted *** data could advance our scientific understanding of VOC vertical distribution.

Austenitic stainless steels are usually chosen to make many components of nuclear power plants （NPPs）. However, their microstructure in the heat-affected zone （HAZ） will change during the welding process. Some failures of the weld joints, mainly stress corrosion cracking （SCC）, have been found to be located in the HAZ. In this research, the microstructure, micro-hardness, residual strain and SCC behavior at different locations of the 316L HAZ cut from a safeend dissimilar metal weld joint were studied. However, traditional optical microscope observation could not find any microstructural difference between the HAZ and the base metal, higher residual strain and micro-hardness, and higher fraction of random high-angle grain boundaries were found in the HAZ than in the base metal when studied by using electron back-scattering diffraction scanning and micro-hardness test. What＇s more, the residual strain, the microhardness and the fraction of random grain boundaries decreased, while the fraction of coincidence site lattice grain boundaries increased with increasing the distance from the fusion boundary in 316L HAZ. Creviced bent beam test was applied to evaluate the SCC susceptibility at different locations of 316L HAZ and base metal. It was found that the HAZ had higher SCC susceptibility than the base metal and SCC resistance increased when increasing the distance from the fusion boundary in 316L HAZ.

Through investigating the corrosion behavior of an as-extruded Mg-3wt%gAl-lwt%Zn （AZ31） alloy in a simulated physiological fluid of Hank＇s solution, it demonstrates that the corrosion process was depen- dent on the immersion time. Further analyses revealed that the highest corrosion resistance could be obtained at 24 h due to the formation of a compact layer of corrosion products on the sample surface. With increasing the immersion time to up to 48 h, the thickness of surface films increased gradually but obvious de-bonding of such film from the substrate could take place, resulting in a certain resilience of the overall corrosion resistance.

This study investigated the indirect oxidation of nitrobenzene(NB)by hydroxyl radicals(·OH)in a rotating packed bed(RPB)using competitive kinetics method with p-nitrochlorobenzene as a reference *** rate constants of NB with·OH are calculated to be between(1.465±0.113)×10^(9)L/(mol·s)and(2.497±0.192)×10^(9)L/(mol·s).The experimental data are fitted by the modified Arrhenius equation,where the activation energy is 4877.74 J/mol,the order of NB concentration,rotation speed,and initial pH is 0.2425,0.1400 and 0.0167,*** ozonation process of NB could be enhanced by RPB,which is especially effective for highly concentrated NB-containing waste-water under alkaline *** high gravity technology can accelerate ozone mass transfer and self-decomposition of ozone to produce more·OH,resulting in an increase in the indirect oxidation rate of NB by·OH and consequently effective degradation of NB in wastewater.

Representational similarity analysis (RSA) is a rapidly developing multivariate platform to investigate the structure of neural activities. Similarity/dissimilarity is the core concept of RSA, realized by the construction of a representational dissimilarity matrix, that addresses the closeness/distance for each pair of research elements (e.g., one minus the correlation between the brain responses to 2 different stimuli) and in turn, constitutes a multivariate pattern as its analytic foundation. This approach is also welcome for its sensitivity in detecting subtle differences of distributed experimental effects in the brain. Importantly, RSA is not only an experimental tool but a promising data-analytical framework that can integrate cross-modal imaging signals, explore brain-behavior link, and verify computational models according to measured neural activities. RSA substantiates its integrative power by relating similarity structure in one domain (e.g., stimulus features) to that in another domain (e.g., neural activities). This review summarizes dissimilarity/similarity definition of RSA, introduces how to derive the dissimilarity structure in neural response pattern, and carry out connectivity analysis based on RSA platform. Several recent advances are highlighted, such as the extraction of across-subjects regularity, cross-validation of brain reactivity in human beings and monkeys, the incorporation of computational models and behavioral profiles into RSA. Voxel receptor field modeling, another promising multivariate tool of pattern elucidation, is presented and compared. The application of RSA is expected to surge and extend in many fields of neuro-science, computation, psychology and medicine. We also discuss the limitations of RSA and some critical questions that need to be addressed in future research.
