The development of phased-array grating compressor is a crucial issue for high-energy, ultra-short pulse petawatt-class lasers. Almost all systems have adopted a tiled-grating approach to meet the size requirements for the compression gratings. We present a computer-control test system utilizing near-field interference and far-field focusing capable of monitoring and fast correcting tiled errors of the grating compressor. In this system, the tilt/tip errors between the two gratings are determined by the Fourier transform （FT） of the individual interference fringe, and the piston errors are determined by the ratio of the two primary peaks formed in the far-field pattern as a function of the piston difference. Monochromatic grating phasing is achieved experimentally and pulse compression is demonstrated with a tiled grating system.

We investigate the temporal evolution of the current pulses from an ac Fie cold plasma jet at atmospheric pressure and with driving frequency in the range 14.76-15.30 kHz. The driving frequency is used as the plasma system＇s bifurcation parameter in analogy with the evolution in which the current pulses undergoes multiplication and chaos. Such time-domain nonlineaxity is important for controlling instabilities in atmospheric glow discharges. In addition, the observation can provide some data to support the simulation results reported previously [Appl. Phys. Lett. 90 （2007） 071501].

Pulse inductively coupled plasma has been widely used in the microelectronics industry,but the existence of overshoot phenomenon may affect the uniformity of plasma and generate high-energy ions,which could damage the *** overshoot phenomenon at various spatial locations in pulsed inductively coupled Ar and Ar/CF_(4) discharges is studied in this *** electron density,effective electron temperature,relative light intensity,and electron energy probability function(EEPF) are measured by using a time-resolved Langmuir probe and an optical probe,as a function of axial and radial *** the initial stage of pulse,both electron density and relative light intensity exhibit overshoot phenomenon,i.e.,they first increase to a peak value and then decrease to a convergent *** overshoot phenomenon gradually decays,when the probe moves away from the ***,a delay appears in the variation of the electron densities,and the effective electron temperature decreases,which may be related to the reduced strength of electric field at a distance,and the consequent fewer high-energy electrons,inducing limited ionization and excitation *** overshoot phenomenon gradually disappears and the electron density decreases,when the probe moves away from reactor *** Ar/CF_(4) discharge,the overshoot phenomenon of electron density is weaker than that in the Ar discharge,and the plasma reaches a steady density within a much shorter time,which is probably due to the more ionization channels and lower ionization thresholds in the Ar/CF_(4) plasma.

A newly designed grating used in terahertz region is proposed, which is composed of the trapezoidal elements repeated successively along one dimension of the substrate, and uniform interval （the grating period） repeated along the other dimension. The transmission of the grating owns a designable trapezoidal profile dependent on the geometric dimensions of the element. The far-field diffraction patterns of a designed grating at incident broadband terahertz frequencies, with element dimensions of upper, lower side and period of 50, 250, and 300 μm, respectively, are simulated by the scalar diffraction theory. The simulation results indicate that the terahertz grating exhibits a property of single-order diffraction, and the diffraction efficiency of the first order reaches 6.6%, exceeding that of a traditional sinusoidal amplitude grating with identical period and duty cycle. Owing to the regular architecture and the high single-order diffraction efficiency, the grating is easy to fabricate and shows great potential applications in single-shot spectral measurements of weak broadband terahertz pulse.

High-power pulsed magnetron sputtering （HPPMS or HiPIMS） is an emerging coating technology that produces very dense plasmas and highly ionized sputtering atoms. This paper is focused on discharge properties, unbalanced features and temporal evolution of pulse current of the HPPMS discharge. A hollow cathode was used to suppress the scattering of charges. A coaxial coil surrounding the target was used to control the breakdownvoltage and pulse repetition frequency by varying the coil current. A Langmuir probe and an oscilloscope were used to simultaneously measure the floating potential, pulse voltage and pulse current signMs. The pulse power density in the discharge reached 10 kW/cm2 with frequencies as high as N40 Hz and a pulse width about 1~5 ms. The characteristics of the discharge evolution were analyzed using magnetron discharge dynamics.

Phospholipase C zeta(PLC)is a key sperm-borne oocyte-activating factor that triggers Ca^(2+)oscillations and the subsequent block to polyspermy following gamete *** in PLCZ1,the gene encoding PLCζ,cause male infertility and intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI)fertilization failure;and PLCζ expression and localization patterns are significantly correlated with ICSI fertilization rate(FR).However,in conventional in vitro fertilization(cIVF),whether and how sperm PLCζ affects fertilization remain ***,we identified one previously reported and two novel PLCZ1 mutations associated with polyspermy in vitro that are characterized by excessive sperm-zona binding and a delay in pronuclei(PN)*** staining and oocyte activation testing revealed that virtually all spermatozoa from patients lacked functional PLCζ and were thus unable to evoke Ca^(2+) *** with an artificial oocyte activation treatment successfully rescued the polyspermic phenotype and resulted in a live ***,we analyzed PLCζ in an additional 58 males after cIVF treatment in the Reproductive and Genetic Hospital of CiTiC-Xiangya(Changsha,China)between February 2019 and January *** found that the proportion of spermatozoa that expressed PLCζ was positively correlated with both 2PN rate and total *** optimal cutoff value below which males were likely to experience low FR(total FR≤30%)after clVF was 56.7%for the proportion of spermatozoa expressing *** study expands the mutation and the phenotypic spectrum of PLCZ1 and further suggests that PLCζ constitutes a promising biomarker for identifying low FRs cases in cIVF due to sperm-related oocyte activation deficiency and that sperm PLCζ analysis may benefit the widermale population and not onlymen with IcsI failure.
