Salidroside(SAL),a major bioactive compound of Rhodiola crenulata,has significant anti-hypoxia effect,however,its underlying molecular mechanism has not been *** order to explore the protective mechanism of SAL,the lactate dehydrogenase(LDH),reactive oxygen species(ROS),superoxide dismutase(SOD)and hypoxia-induced factor 1α(HIF-1α)were measured to establish the PC12 cell hypoxic *** staining and cell viability analyses were performed to evaluate the protective effects of *** metabolomics and bioinformatics methods were used to explore the protective effects of salidroside under hypoxia *** metabolite-protein interaction networks were further established and the protein expression level was examined by Western *** results showed that 59 endogenous metabolites changed and the expression of the hub proteins of CK2,p-PTEN/PTEN,PI3K,p-Akt/Akt,NF-κB p65 and Bcl-2 were increased,suggesting that SAL could increase the expression of CK2,which induced the phosphorylation and inactivation of PTEN,reduced the inhibitory effect on PI3K signaling pathways and activated the PI3K/Akt/NF-κB survival signaling *** study provided an important insight to reveal the protective molecular mechanism of SAL as a novel drug candidate.

A full-scale integrated-bioreactor consisting of a suspended zone and an immobilized zone was employed to treat the ordours emitted from a wastewater treatment plant. The inlet concentrations of H,S and NH3 were 1.6-38.6 mg.m-3 and 0.1 6.7 mg.m-3 respectively, while the steady-state outlet concentrations were reduced to 0-2.8mg.m - for H2S and 0-0.5mg.m for NH3. BothH2SandNH3 were eliminated effectively by the integrated-bioreactor. The removal efficiencies of H2S and NH3 differed between the two zones. Four species of microorganisms related to the degradation of H2S and NH3 were isolated. The characteristics and distributions of the microbes in the bioreactor depended on the inlet concentration of substrates and the micro-environmental conditions in the individual zones. Product analysis indicated that most of the H2S was oxidized into sulfate in the immobilized zone but was dissolved into the liquid phase in the suspended zone. A large amount of NH3 was converted into nitrate and nitrite by nitration in the suspended zone, whereas only a small amount of NH3 was transferred to the aqueous phase mainly by absorption or chemical neutralization in the immobilized zone. Different microbial populations dominated the individual zones, and the major biodegradation products varied accordingly.

Tumor-targeting attenuated Salmonella could induce certain antitumor therapeutic effect through its proliferation characteristic and the consequent activated immune response,while host defense cells represented by neutrophils would trap and eliminate these invading bacteria via producing excess hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))-including reactive oxygen species in the bacteriainfected tumor,thereby impairing the efficacy of the bacteria treatment of ***,we attempt to combine bacteria treatment and oxygen-dependent radioimmunotherapy of tumor through injection of neutrophil-targeted nano-catalase into the bacteria-treated mice for perfect tumor treatment *** albumin is used to coat catalase and deliver it to the neutrophils infiltrated in bacteria-infected tumor *** advantage of the generating H_(2)O_(2)by neutrophils,easily-diffused oxygen is produced and spread the whole tumor under the catalysis of nano-enzyme,leading to enhanced radiotherapy of hypoxic tumor ***,the optimized tumor microenvironment,synergistically caused by potent immune-stimulation of bacteria,generating oxygen and tumor radiotherapy,would boost the antitumor *** novel combination therapy strategy holds great promise to provide new ideas for future clinical cancer treatment.

Variability in the East Asian summer monsoon(EASM)brings the risk of heavy flooding or drought to the Yangtze River basin,with potentially devastating *** forecasts of the likelihood of enhanced or reduced monsoon rainfall can enable better management of water and hydropower resources by decision-makers,supporting livelihoods and major economic and population centres across eastern *** paper demonstrates that the EASM is predictable in a dynamical forecast model from the preceding November,and that this allows skilful forecasts of summer mean rainfall in the Yangtze River basin at a lead time of six *** skill for May–June–July rainfall is of a similar magnitude to seasonal forecasts initialised in spring,although the skill in June–July–August is much weaker and not consistently ***,there is some evidence for enhanced skill following El Niño *** potential for decadal-scale variability in forecast skill is also examined,although we find no evidence for significant variation.

In this study,a model selection procedure for varying-coefficient model based on longitudinal data is proposed to distinguish three types of variables:variables not in the model,variables in the model with time-independent coefficients and variables in the model with time-varying *** identify these three kinds of variables simultaneously,we extend the present variable selection method from cross-sectional data to longitudinal *** method combines the B-spline function approximation and Adaptive-Lasso penalty to perform variable selection and do nonparametric estimation *** is illustrated with a set of simulation experiments,and results indicate the proposed variable selection procedure performs well in distinguishing the real type of independent variables.

A randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled multicenter trial was conducted in healthy Chinese infants to assess the efficacy and safety of a hexavalent live human-bovine reassortant rotavirus vaccine(HRV)against rotavirus gastroenteritis(RVGE).A total of 6400 participants aged 6-12 weeks were enrolled and randomly assigned to either HRV(n?3200)or placebo(n?3200)*** the subjects received three oral doses of vaccine four weeks *** vaccine efficacy(VE)against RVGE caused by rotavirus serotypes contained in HRV was evaluated from 14 days after three doses of administration up until the end of the second rotavirus *** against severe RVGE,VE against RVGE hospitalization caused by serotypes contained in HRV,and VE against RVGE,severe RVGE,and RVGE hospitalization caused by natural infection of any serotype of rotavirus were also *** adverse events(AEs)were collected for 30 days after each *** AEs(SAEs)and intussusception cases were collected during the entire *** data showed that VE against RVGE caused by serotypes contained in HRV was 69.21%(95%CI:53.31-79.69).VE against severe RVGE and RVGE hospitalization caused by serotypes contained in HRV were 91.36%(95%CI:78.45-96.53)and 89.21%(95%CI:64.51-96.72)*** against RVGE,severe RVGE,and RVGE hospitalization caused by natural infection of any serotype of rotavirus were 62.88%(95%CI:49.11-72.92),85.51%(95%CI:72.74-92.30)and 83.68%(95%CI:61.34-93.11).Incidences of AEs from the first dose to one month post the third dose in HRV and placebo groups were *** was no significant difference in incidences of SAEs in HRV and placebo *** study shows that this hexavalent reassortant rotavirus vaccine is an effective,well-tolerated,and safe vaccine for Chinese infants.

Pore structure design is an effective strategy to tailor the thermal isolation capability of thermal barrier coatings(TBCs).Pursuing optimal porosity is crucial to balance the requirements of thermal isolation and mechanical reliability since the pore structure shields thermal heat transfer but increases mechanical *** this work,we investigate how thermal heat transfer couples with fracture propagation in porous TBCs by the using thermo-mechanical coupling phase field model for *** simulated results show that cracks induced by thermal shock favor deflection that is sometimes perpendicular to the direction of heat *** thermal conductivity degradation by the transverse cracks significantly impedes thermal heat transfer,leads to enhanced reduction of the effective thermal conductivity of TBCs,decreases the average thermal stress of the substrate,and thus decreases the risk of the crack penetrating into the *** numerical results demonstrate that the phase field method fully considering the thermo-mechanical interaction between cracks and pores can be a useful tool to improve the thermal isolation of porous TBCs under extreme thermal shock loadings through pore structure design.

The method for surface modelling of land cover scenarios(SMLCS)has been improved to simulate the scenarios of land cover in *** the basis of the observation monthly climatic data observed from 2127 weather stations in Eurasia during 1981-2010,the climatic scenarios data of RCP26,RCP45 and RCP85 scenarios released by CMIP5,and the land cover current data of Eurasia in 2010,the land cover scenarios of Eurasia were respectively *** results show that most land cover types would generally have similar changing trends in the future,but with some difference in different periods under the three scenarios of RCP26,RCP45 and *** needleleaf forest,mixed forest,shrub land,wetlands and snow and ice would generally decrease in Eurasia during *** and ice would have the fastest decreasing rate that would decrease by 37.42%on *** land would have the slowest decreasing rate that would decrease by 5.65%on *** bodies would have the fastest increasing rate that would increase by 28.78%on *** or sparsely vegetated land would have the slowest increasing rate that would increase by 0.76%.Moreover,the simulated results show that climate change would directly impact on land cover change in Eurasia.
