Objective:To investigate the role of natriuretic peptide in the process of left ventricular dysfunction caused by emotional ***:Adult male SD rats(n=30)and Wistar rats(n=60)were selected in this *** models were induced with high-fat diet and excess VD3 injection(eight consecutive weeks),and anger stress models were prepared by residentintruder stress experiment(two consecutive weeks).Furthermore,left ventricular functions were examined by high-resolution echocardiograph,after which left ventricular myocardium and coronary arteries were prepared for pathological section and observed with electron *** the same time,the hypothalamus,medulla oblongata and left ventricular myocardium were also prepared for pathological sections to detect the localization and expression of AMP,BNP and NPK-A with immunofluorescence and western ***:We found that left ventricular functions of atherosclerosis or emotional stress modeled rats were both inferior to the healthy ones and superior to the combined(atherosclerosis and emotional stress)modeled ones(Pcardiovascular system which inhibit the compensatory self-repair function of atherosclerosis rats,leading to a promotion of fibrosis and lipid peroxidation,offering insight into the neuroendocrine mechanisms of left heart function obstacle.

Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2(SGLT2)inhibitors reduce cardiovascular mortality in patients with diabetes mellitus but the protective mechanism remains *** we demonstrated that the SGLT2 inhibitor,Empagliflozin(EMPA),suppresses cardiomyocytes autosis(autophagic cell death)to confer cardioprotective *** myocardial infarction(Ml)mouse models with and without diabetes mellitus,EMPA treatment significantly reduced infarct size,and myocardial fibrosis,thereby leading to improved cardiac function and *** the context of ischemia and nutritional glucose deprivation where autosis is already highly stimulated,EMPA directly inhibits the activity of the Na^(+)/H^(+)exchanger 1(NHE1)in the cardiomyocytes to regulate excessive *** of NHE1 significantly rescued glucose deprivation-induced *** contrast,overexpression of NHE1 aggravated the cardiomyocytes death in response to starvation,which was effectively rescued by EMPA ***,in vitro and in vivo analysis of NHE1 and Beclin 1 knockout mice validated that EMPA s cardioprotective effects are at least in part through downregulation of autophagic *** findings provide new insights for drug development,specifically targeting NHE1 and autosis for ventricular remodeling and heart failure after Ml in both diabetic and non-diabetic patients.

This recently published cross-sectional study that included 99 men from Massachusetts General Hospital Fertility Center, Boston, MA, USA, reports that a high intake of saturated fats was inversely associated with sperm concentration and total sperm count and a high intake of omega-3 polyunsaturated fats （PUFAs） was positively associated with sperm morphology. Although the study is based upon a highly selected group of males and is of cross-sectional nature, the findings are of interest, since poor semen quality is a frequent problem in some parts of the world and identification of modifiable risk factors is highly wanted.

Objective： Hydrogen sulfide （H2S）, a gaseous signal molecule, plays a crucial role in many pathophysiologic processes in the cardiovascular system. Autophagy has been shown to participate in the occurrence of many cardiac diseases. Increasing evidences indicated that H,S regulates myocardial structure and function in association with the altered autophagy and plays a ＂switcher＂ role in the autophagy of myocardial diseases. The airn of this review was to summarize these insights and provide the experimental evidence that H2S targets cardiomyocyte autophagy to regulate cardiovascular function. Data Sources： This review was based on data in articles published in the PubMed databases up to October 30, 2017, with the following keywords：＂hydrogen sulfide,＂＂autophagy,＂ and ＂cardiovascular diseases.＂ Study Selection： Original articles and critical reviews on H,S and autophagy were selected for this review. Results： When autophagy plays an adaptive role in the pathogenesis of diseases, H2S restores autophagy; otherwise, when autophagy plays a detrimental role, H2S downregulates autophagy to exert a cardioprotective function. For example, H2S has beneficial effects by regulating autophagy in myocardial ischemia/reperfusion and plays a protective role by inhibiting autophagy during the operation of cardioplegia and cardiopuhnonary bypass. H2S postpones cardiac aging associated with the upregulation of autophagy but improves the left ventricular function of smoking rats by lowering autophagy. Conclusions： H2S exerts cardiovascular protection by regulating autophagy. cardiovascular autophagy would likely become a potential target of H2S therapy for cardiovascular diseases.

Coronary artery anomalies （CAAs） may be discovered more often as incidental findings during the normal diagnostic process for other cardiac diseases or less frequently on the basis of manifestations of myocardial ischemia. The cardiovascular professional may be involved in their angiographic diagnosis, fimctional assessment and eventual endovascular treatment. A complete angiographic definition is mandatory in order to understand the functional effects and plan any intervention in CAAs： computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are useful non-invasive tools to detect three-dimensional morphology of the anomalies and its relationships with contiguous cardiac structures, whereas coronary arteriography remains the gold standard for a definitive anatomic picture. A practical idea of the possible functional sig- nificance is mandatory for deciding how to manage CAAs： non-invasive stress tests and in particular the invasive pharmacological stress tests with or without intravascular ultrasound monitoring can assess correctly the functional significance of the most CAAs. Finally, the knowledge of the particular endovascular techniques and material is of paramount importance for achieving technical and clinical success. CAAs represent a complex issue, which rarely involve the cardiovascular professional at different levels. A timely practical knowledge of the main issues regarding CAAs is important in the management of such entities.

BACKGROUND Newer models of cardiac rehabilitation(CR)delivery are promising but depend upon patient participation and ability to use technological media including Internet and smart *** To explore the availability of smart devices,current utilization and proficiency of use among older CR program *** Study participants were enrolled from four CR programs in Omaha,Nebraska United States and completed a questionnaire of 28 *** Of 376 participants approached,169 responded(45%).Mean age was 71.1(SD±10)*** were 73.5%males,89.7%Caucasians,52%with college degree and 56.9%,with income of 40 K$or *** device ownership was84.5%;desktop computer was the most preferred *** Internet use was 1.9 h/d(SD±1.7);54.3%of participants indicating for general usage but only18.4%pursued health-related *** of other health information modalities was low,29.8%used mobile health applications and 12.5%used wearable *** all participants,72%reported no barriers to using *** and income were associated positively with measures of utilization and with less perceived *** an older group of subjects attending CR,most have access to smart devices and do not perceive significant barriers to Internet ***,there was low utilization of health-related resources suggesting a need for targeted education in this patient population.
