BACKGROUND The liver is the most common site of digestive system tumor metastasis,but not all liver metastases can be traced back to the primary *** it is unusual,syphilis can impact the liver,manifesting as syphilitic hepatitis with inflammatory nodules,which might be misdiagnosed as *** SUMMARY This case report involves a 46-year-old female who developed right upper abdominal pain and intermittent low fever that persisted for more than three *** definitive diagnosis of a tumor had been made in the past decades,but signs of multiple liver metastases were recognized after a computed tomo-graphy scan without evidence of primary *** positive serological tests for syphilis and a biopsy of the liver nodules,a diagnosis of hepatic syphilis was made and confirmed with follow-up nodule reduction after anti-syphilis *** Clinicians must be aware of the possibility that syphilis can cause hepatic inflam-matory masses,especially when liver metastasis is suspected without evidence of primary lesions.A definitive diagnosis should be established in conjunction with a review of the patient’s medical history for accurate therapeutic intervention.

Purpose:Postpancreatectomy hemorrhage(PPH)is a life-threatening complication after ***-graft implantation is an emerging treatment option for *** study reports the outcome of PPH treated with stent-graft ***:This was a single-center,retrospective *** April 2020 and December 2023,1723 pancreatectomy cases were collected while we screened 12 cases of PPH after pancreatoduodenectomy treated with stent-graft ***'medical and radiologic images were retrospectively *** and clinical success,complications,and stent-graft patency were *** data are reported as means±standard deviation when normally distributed or as median(Q1,Q3)when the data is non-normal *** data are reported as n(%).A p<0.05 was considered statistically ***-Meier estimates were used for stent patency and patients'***:Pancreatic fistula was identified in 6 cases(50.0%),and pseudoaneurysm was identified in 3 cases(25.0%),including pancreatic fistula together with pseudoaneurysm in 1 case(8.3%).All pseudoaneurysm or contrast extravasation sites were successfully excluded with patent distal perfusion,thus technical success was achieved in all *** overall survival rate at 6 months and 1 year was 91.7%and 78.6%,*** patient had herniation of the small intestine into the thoracic cavity,which caused a broad thoracic and abdominal infection and died during *** occurred at the gastroduodenal artery stump in 1 case after stent-graft implantation for the splenic artery and was successfully treated with another stent-graft *** cases of asymptomatic stent-graft occlusion were observed at 24.6 and 26.3 after the operation,***:With suitable anatomy,covered stent-graft implantation is an effective and safe treatment option for PPH with various bleeding sites and causes.

Extracorporeal liver surgery(ELS), also known as liver autotransplantation, is a hybrid(cross-fertilized) surgery incorporating the technical knowledge from extreme liver and transplant liver surgeries, and recently became more embraced and popularized among leading centers. ELS could be summarized into three major categories, namely, ex-situ liver resection and autotransplantation(ELRA), ante-situm liver resection and autotransplantation(ALRA) and auxiliary partial liver autotransplantation(APLA). The successful development of ELS during the past 37 years is definitely inseparable from continuous effort s done by Chinese surgeons and researchers. Especially, the precision liver surgery paradigm has allowed to transform ELS into a modularized, more simplified, and standardized surgery, to upgrade surgical skills, to improve peri-operative outcome and long-term survival, to increase the capability of surgeons to select more complex diseases and to expand the level of medical service to the population. This review highlights the Chinese contributions to the field of ELS, focusing thereby on features of different surgical types, technical innovations, disease selection and surgical indication, patient prognosis and future perspectives.
