Retrospective analysis of pathological types and imaging features in pancreatic cancer: A comprehensive study

BACKGROUND Pancreatic cancer remains one of the most lethal malignancies worldwide,with a poor prognosis often attributed to late *** the correlation between pathological type and imaging features is crucial for early detection and appropriate treatment *** To retrospectively analyze the relationship between different pathological types of pancreatic cancer and their corresponding imaging *** We retrospectively analyzed the data of 500 patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer between January 2010 and December 2020 at our *** types were determined by histopathological examination of the surgical spe-cimens or biopsy *** imaging features were assessed using computed tomography,magnetic resonance imaging,and endoscopic *** analyses were performed to identify significant associations between pathological types and specific imaging *** There were 320(64%)cases of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma,75(15%)of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms,50(10%)of neuroendocrine tumors,and 55(11%)of other rare *** imaging features were identified in each pathological *** ductal adenocarcinoma typically presents as a hypodense mass with poorly defined borders on computed tomography,whereas intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms present as characteristic cystic lesions with mural *** tumors often appear as hypervascular lesions in contrast-enhanced *** analysis revealed significant correlations between specific imaging features and pathological types(PsION This study demonstrated a strong association between the pathological types of pancreatic cancer and imaging *** findings can enhance the accuracy of noninvasive diagnosis and guide personalized treatment approaches.

Effects of shenqi Xiangyi granules in advanced gastric cancer chemotherapy

BACKGROUND Owing to the absence of specific symptoms in early-stage gastric cancer,most patients are diagnosed at intermediate or advanced *** a result,treatment often shifts from surgery to other therapies,with chemotherapy and targeted therapies being the primary options for advanced gastric cancer treatment.A total of 116 patients with advanced gastric cancer,admitted from January 2021 to December 2023,were selected and divided into two groups of 58 each using the random number table *** control group received FOLFOX4 chemothe-rapy(oxaliplatin+calcium+folinate+5-fluorouracil)combined with intravenous *** observation group received the same treatment as the control group,supplemented by oral administration of senqi shiyiwei *** groups underwent treatment cycles of 3 weeks,with a minimum of two *** therapeutic efficacy,immune mechanisms,and treatment-related toxicity and side effects were compared between the *** objective remission rate in the observation group(55.17%)was higher than that of the control group(36.21%)(Ps were higher in the observation group compared to the control group,while CD8+,regulatory T cells,and natural killer cells were lower(Psea,and vomiting was lower in observed group(Psignificant differences were observed in the incidence of other adverse reactions(P>0.05).CONCLUsION Adjuvant therapy with shenqixian granules may enhance the efficacy of simudizumab combined with FOLFOX4 chemotherapy in advanced gastric cancer and the immune function by increasing immune cell counts,making it a valuable option in clinical treatment.

Diabetic wound healing is often complicated due to bacterial infections that intensify inflammation. Employing hydrogel dressings with inherent antibacterial properties can significantly reduce reliance on antibiotics for treating infected wounds in diabetics. Traditional hydrogels typically rely on the infiltration of bacteria into their porous structure to manifest antibacterial effects. However, this infiltration process is not only prolonged but can also exacerbate inflammation, further delaying the healing of the ***, promptly capturing and eliminating bacteria is crucial for enhancing the antibacterial efficiency of the hydrogel. In this context, we present a multifunctional hydrogel dressing, termed sIP, designed to tackle drug-resistant bacterial infections in diabetic wounds. This dressing integrates ionic liquid functional groups into a sericin-based matrix: phenylboronic acid for the immobilization of bacteria and imidazole for their subsequent annihilation. Expectedly, the sIP system demonstrates potent antibacterial activity against methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, verified through in vitro and in vivo experiments. As a result, sIP emerges as a promising candidate in the realm of hydrogel dressings with innate antibacterial properties, showcasing considerable potential for addressing diabetic wounds plagued by drug-resistant bacterial infections.

BACKGROUND The relationship between patient nutritional,immune,and inflammatory status is linked to tumor progression and ***,there are limited studies on the prognosis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(EsCC)after surgery based on the comprehensive indicators of these *** To develop and validate a novel nomogram based on a nutritional immuneinflammatory status(NIIs)score for predicting postoperative outcomes in *** This retrospective study examined 829 patients with EsCC who underwent radical surgery between June 2016 and June 2020,with 568 patients in the training cohort and 261 patients in the validation *** incorporated comprehensive indicators related to nutrition,immunity,and inflammation to develop the NIIs score, using LAssO regression. subsequently, a nomogram combining the NIIs score and other clinicopathologicalparameters was developed and validated using calibration curves, time-dependent area under curves, and decisioncurve *** identified eight indicators that constitute the NIIs score. Prognostic value of inflammatory markers in predicting recurrencefree survival in gastrointestinal stromal tumor patients:A nomogram-based approach
