Capital Normal University Library(CNU Library) initiated the first practical application of a 3D virtual library sites-navigation system(an electronic kiosk version)among Chinese academic and research libraries in 2010. It was primarily based on the technologies of 3DsMax and Virtools. This paper concentrates on the discussion of the methods in creating the 3D model and in realizing the interaction among the data usage of the system. As a result, several important service functions of the system have been developed successfully so far for convenient public access. They include the functions of virtual-book searching, path navigation online, real-time message exchanges, and multi-media sharing, etc.

Purpose:This paper aims to explore the potential of the drama pedagogy that may contribute to primary children's moral growth in the Chinese educational context.It argues that drama may offer an ensemble-based,dialogic,and narrative pedagogy for teaching morality to complement thedidactic traditional model.Design/Approach/Methods:The methodological approach is that of case study research,using different methods to assess the effects and effectiveness of the author's teaching.The fieldwork was undertaken in a public primary school in Beijing,in which the drama workshop The Boat was taught to I6 children on a voluntary basis.Findings:The study demonstrates that drama can be seen to some extent to assist pupils in aspects of their empathetic attitudes,dialogic thinking abilities,and autonomous thinking capacities.Originality/Value:The author hopes the study might stimulate more and deeper research in similar contexts and that this may further extend the understanding of Chinese teachers of this resourceful new pedagogy.

Tumor-microenvironment activated programmable synergistic cancer therapy by bioresponsive rare-earth nanocomposite

Synergistic chemotherapy-photothermal therapy(CT-PTT)can improve the cancer treatment efficacy,but its treatment effect is still limited by factors such as targeting efficiency and treatment sequence.Herein,a H_(2)S-responsive metal organic frameworks(MOFs)coated rare-earth nanocomposite(csEr@-MOF)was constructed and loaded with a chemotherapeutic drug(DOX)and a heat shock protein(HSP)inhibitor(Shepherdin).As the drug-loaded csEr@MOF reaches the H_(2)S-riched colorectal tumor region,based on the reaction between H_(2)S and MOF,Shepherdin is released for inhibiting the function of HSPs,the generated CuS is used for PTT and DOX is released for CT.Through being monitored by ratiometric imaging of rare-earth nanocomposite,it is possible to perform the precise treatment timing for PTT.With the help of Shepherdin,the treatment effect of PTT was enhanced.Therefore,programmable CT-PTT synergistic cancer therapy activated by a single H_(2)S trigger is achieved in vitro and in vivo.This work provides new ideas for designing tumor microenvironment-responsive therapeutic agents for programmable synergistic therapy with better targeting and therapeutic efficiency.

Nonconforming grids with hanging nodes are frequently used in adaptive finite element comput at ions.In all earlier works on such methods,proper cons train ts should be enforced on degrees of freedom on edges/faces with hanging nodes to keep continuity,which yield numerical computations much complicated.In 2014,Zhao et al.(2014)presented quadrilateral constraint-free finite element methods on quadrilateral grids with hanging nodes.This paper further develops a hexahedral constraint-free finite element method on hexahedral grids with hanging nodes,which is of greater challenge than the two-dimensional case.Residual-based a posteriori error reliability and efficiency are also established in this paper.

Learning by Researching:Achievements and Actions of Teacher Learning in a School-university Collaborative Project

Purpose:This study explores the achievements and process of a group of Chinese primary school teachers learning from a research-based school-university collaborative project.Design/Approach/Methods:We used qualitative methods to construct our research design,collecting data through participatory observations of weekly meetings,teacher interviews,and participants'reflective journals.Both thematic analysis and discursive analysis were employed as strategies to scrutinize the data.Findings:We categorize teachers'learning into five achievements:outcome,processual,democratic,catalytic,and dialogic achievement.A further examination highlights seven successive learning actions composing an implicit mechanism to facilitate these achievements:questioning,analyzing,modeling,examining,implementing,reflecting,and consolidating.Originality/Value:Through this longitudinal study,we more comprehensively record details about teachers'learning as they conduct their own research.Although school-university heterogeneous collaboration has potential conflicts,teachers can improve their problem-solving and knowledge creation and sharing abilities,promoting a sense of professional accomplishment.These findings also suggest the need to reconsider the authentic process of teacher research,a task equally significant for international educators.

Porphyrin-based metal-organic framework nanocrystals for combination of immune and sonodynamic therapy

Immune therapy based on programmed death-ligand 1(PD-L1)is widely used to treat human tumors.The current strategies to improve immune checkpoint blockade therapy fail in rescuing increased expression of PD-L1 in tumor issues.Here,we for the first time synthesized the metal-organic framework(MOF)nanocrystals of rare-earth element dysprosium(Dy)coordinated with tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin(TCPP),which show well-defined two-dimensional morphologies.The MOF nanocrystals of Dy-TCPP could apparently reduce PD-L1 expression in tumor cells both in vitro and in vivo,and therefore display effective tumor treatment through immune therapy without any immune checkpoint inhibitor drugs.Considering the sensitivity of TCPP ligand toward ultrasound,the prepared Dy-TCPP can also realize sonodynamic therapy(SDT)besides immune therapy.In addition,the Dy-TCPP nanocrystals can efficiently obtain T_(2)-weight magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)of tumor sites.Our study provides the Dy-TCPP nanocrystals as promising diagnostic MRI-guided platforms for the combined treatment on tumors with SDT and immune therapy.Moreover,this strategy succeeds in reducing the elevated expression of PD-L1 in tumor cells,which might serve as a novel avenue for tumor immunotherapy in future.

According to the boundary condition with the zero,negative,or positive velocity,the initial boundary problem for compressible multi-phase flow with the Dirichlet-type boundary condition can be classified into three cases:impermeable problem,inflow problem,or outflow problem.In this paper,we review the recent progress on the existence and nonlinear stability of the stationary solution to the outflow/inflow problems for viscous multi-phase flow.

In the spirit of Morse homology initiated by Witten and Floer, we construct two∞-categories A and B.The weak one A comes out of the Morse-Smale pairs and their higher homotopies, and the strict one B concerns the chain complexes of the Morse functions. Based on the boundary structures of the compactified moduli space of gradient flow lines of Morse functions with parameters, we build up a weak∞-functor F:A→B. Higher algebraic structures behind Morse homology are revealed with the perspective of defects in topological quantum field theory.
