To contribute to the empirical literature on innovation in non-profit organizations,this study examines innovation in Private Social Solidarity Institutions with social responses for the elderly in Northern *** enriches the literature by clarifying the concept of innovation applied to non-profit organizations,which represents a perspective different from the business ***,it is important to support the innovation decisionmaking process in similar non-profit *** this study,the population was surveyed through questionnaires based on the PUBLIN research project,which has already been applied in different countries,and the targets were employees of organizations with social responses for the *** sample is small,with 28 respondent institutions and 51 employees,but it is representative,as it includes institutions from all districts in Northern *** study employed a quantitative approach,particularly factor analysis,multiple linear regression,and correlation analyses,using scales already applied in other dimensions of the social sector,to understand the effect of each innovation dimension/determinant on creativity and innovation in nonprofit *** results show that in these organizations with social responses for the elderly,learning orientation,risk-taking,and job satisfaction have a positive impact on innovation.

The reduction of nitrate to nitrite by the oral microbiota has been proposed to be important for oral health and results in nitric oxide formation that can improve cardiometabolic conditions. Studies of bacterial composition in subgingival plaque suggest that nitrate-reducing bacteria are associated with periodontal health, but the impact of periodontitis on nitrate-reducing capacity(NRC)and, therefore, nitric oxide availability has not been evaluated. The current study aimed to evaluate how periodontitis affects the NRC of the oral microbiota. First, 16S rRNA sequencing data from five different countries were analyzed, revealing that nitratereducing bacteria were significantly lower in subgingival plaque of periodontitis patients compared with healthy individuals(P < 0.05 in all five datasets with n = 20–82 samples per dataset). Secondly, subgingival plaque, saliva, and plasma samples were obtained from 42 periodontitis patients before and after periodontal treatment. The oral NRC was determined in vitro by incubating saliva with 8 mmol/L nitrate(a concentration found in saliva after nitrate-rich vegetable intake) and compared with the NRC of 15healthy individuals. Salivary NRC was found to be diminished in periodontal patients before treatment(P < 0.05) but recovered to healthy levels 90 days post-treatment. Additionally, the subgingival levels of nitrate-reducing bacteria increased after treatment and correlated negatively with periodontitis-associated bacteria(P < 0.01). No significant effect of periodontal treatment on the baseline saliva and plasma nitrate and nitrite levels was found, indicating that differences in the NRC may only be revealed after nitrate intake. Our results suggest that an impaired NRC in periodontitis could limit dietary nitrate-derived nitric oxide levels, and the effect on systemic health should be explored in future studies.

Two-tier control structure design methodology applied to heat exchanger networks

In Sultanate of Oman, the water demand is continuously increasing due to rapid industrialisation and population growth. Due to low average rainfall(100mm) and decline in ground water level, the demand is exceeding far by the supply. A number of desalination plants are coming up in Sultanate to counter the water crisis. Almost all the desalination plants are based on conventional energy sources and there is no large scale solar based desalination plant in Sultanate. The present research study is an attempt to develop a pre-treatment system using solar photo catalysis technique. A laboratory scale experimental set-up was put up at caledonian college of engineering to study the effect of different Nano photo catalysts in degrading the organic pollutants in seawater. The sea water is continuously re-circulated in the presence of solar energy with Nano photo catalyst in suspension and thin film mode. The performance of the system was tested based on the various parameters, TOC, DO, TDS, pH, and Salinity.

Because of its paramount importance in the successful industrial control strategy of a given heat exchanger network(HEN),the control structure designs for providing appropriate manipulated variable(MV)and controlled variable pairings have received considerable ***,quite frequently HENs with such control structures face the problem of hard constraints,typically holding the HENs at less controlled operating *** both the MV pairings and the above control pairings should be considered to design a control *** paper investigates the systematic incorporation of the two pairings,and presents a methodology for designing such two-tier control *** is developed based on the sequential strategy,coupling an indirect-tier with direct-tier control structure design,wherein the intention is realized in the former stage and the latter is implemented for further *** MV identification and pairing are achieved through variations in heat load of heat exchangers to design the indirect-tier control *** the direct-tier control structure is followed the relative gain array pairing *** the proposed methodology,on the one hand,it generates an explicit connection between the MV pairings and the HEN configuration,and the quantitative interaction measure is improved to avoid the multiple solutions to break the relationship among all the control pairings into individuals;on the other hand,a two-tier control structure reveals control potentials and control system design requirements,this may avoid complex and economically unfavourable control and HEN *** application of proposed framework is illustrated with two cases involving the dynamic simulation analysis,the quantitative assessment and the random test.

Mg(and Mg alloys)and Ti(and Ti alloys)are two important classes of metallic implant materials which are respectively completely degradable and non-degradable after *** composites composed of them offers the promise for combining their property advantages for bone ***,we present a Mg-Ti composite fabricated by pressureless infiltration of pure Mg melt into 3D printed Ti scaffold,and demonstrate a potential of the composite for use as new partially degradable and bioactive implant *** composite has such architecture that the Mg and Ti phases are topologically bicontinuous and mutually interspersed in 3D space,and exhibits several advantages over its constituents,such as higher strengths than as-cast pure Mg and Ti scaffold along with lower Young’s modulus than dense ***,the degradation of Mg phase may induce the formation and ingrowth of new bone tissues into the Ti scaffold to form mechanical interlocking between them;in this process,the Ti scaffold provides constant support and Young’s modulus adaptively decreases toward that of *** the accelerated corrosion than pure Mg,the composite remains non-cytotoxic and does not cause obvious adverse reactions after implantation as revealed by in vitro and in vivo *** study may offer a new possibility for combining mechanical durability and bioactivity in implant materials,and allow for customized and targeted design of the implant.

Chiral B,N-doped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons with circularly polarized luminescence(CPL) and small full-width at halfmaxima(FWHM) are promising multiple resonance(MR) emitters for CP organic light-emitting diodes(CP-OLEDs).This work presents a pair of chiral MR enantiomers,P/M-o[B-N]_(2)N_(2),featuring B–N bonds incorporated within a[7]-helicene *** enantiomers exhibit narrow 0-0 and 0-1 electronic transition bands,whose relative intensity can be fine-tuned by increasing doping concentrations,resulting in redshifts of the emission peak from 542 to 592 *** enantiomers show mirrorsymmetric CPL spectra with an asymmetry factor(|g_(PL)|) of 1.0×10^(-3).The hyperfluorescent CP-OLEDs with double-sensitized emitting layers display a FWHM of 33 nm,an external quantum efficiency of 25.1%,and a|g_(EL)|factor of 7.7×10^(-4).Notably,the CP-OLEDs realize color-tunable CP electroluminescence peak from 553 to 613 nm by regulating the vibrational *** work provides a novel concept for the design of helical CP-MR materials and CP-OLEDs,highlighting their potential for future applications in advanced optoelectronic devices.

A patent is a kind of technical document to protect intellectual property for individuals or enterprises. Patentable idea generation is a crucial step for patent application and analogy is confirmed to be an effective technique to inspire creative ideas. Analogy?based design usually starts from representation of an analogy source and is followed by the retrieval of appropriate analogs, mapping of design knowledge and adaptation of target solution. To diffuse one core idea into other new contexts and achieve more patentable ideas, this paper mainly centered on the first two stages of analogy?based design and proposed a patentable ideation framework. The analogical information of the source system, including source design problems and solution, was mined comprehensively through International Patent Classification analysis and represented in the form of function, behavior and structure. Three heuristics were suggested for searching the set of candidate target systems with a similar design problem, where the source design could be transferred. To systematize the process of source representation, analogs retrieval, idea transfer, and solution generation, an ideation model was put forward. Finally, the bladeless fan was selected as a source design to illustrate the application of this work. The design output shows that the representation and heuristics are beneficial, and this systematic ideation method can help the engineer or designer enhance creativity and discover more patentable opportunities.

The diversity of vegetation configuration is the key to ecological restoration in open-pit coal mine ***,the recovery outcomes of different areas with the same vegetation assemblage pattern are completely different after long-term ***,understanding the causes of differential vegetation recovery and the mechanism of plant succession is of great significance to the ecological restoration of *** Pinus tabulaeformis plantations with similar initial site conditions and restoration measures but with different secondary succession processes were selected from the open-pit coal mine dump that has been restored for 30 *** physicochemical properties,enzyme activities,vegetation and microbial features were investigated,while the structural equation models were established to explore the interactions between plants,soil and *** results showed that original vegetation configuration and soil nutrient conditions were altered due to secondary *** the advancement of the secondary succession process,the coverage of plants increased from 34.8%to 95.5%(P<0.05),soil organic matter increased from 9.30 g kg^(-1)to 21.13 g kg^(-1)(P<0.05),and total nitrogen increased from 0.38 g kg^(-1)to 1.01 g kg^(-1)(P<0.05).The activities of soil urease and p-glucosidase were increased by 1.7-fold and 53.26%,***,the secondary succession also changed the soil microbial community structure and *** relative abundance of Nitrospira genus which dominates the nitrification increased *** results showed that urease andβ-glucosidase promoted the increase of vegetation diversity and biomass by promoting the accumulation of soil organic matter and nitrate nitrogen,which promoted the ecological restoration of mine dumps.
