Calculations of risk from natural disasters may require ensembles of hundreds of thousands of simulations to accurately quantify the complex relationships between the outcome of a disaster and its contributing *** large ensembles cannot typically be run on a single computer due to the limited computational resources *** Computing offers an attractive alternative,with an almost unlimited capacity for computation,storage,and network ***,there are no clear mechanisms that define how to implement these complex natural disaster ensembles on the Cloud with minimal time and *** such,this paper proposes a system framework with two phases of cost optimization to run the ensembles as a service over *** cost is minimized through efficient distribution of the simulations among the cost-efficient instances and intelligent choice of the instances based on pricing *** validate the proposed framework using real Cloud environment with real wildfire ensemble scenarios under different user *** experimental results give an edge to the proposed system over the bag-of-task type execution on the Clouds with less cost and better flexibility.

In recent times, Aerial Base Stations(AeBSs) are being investigated to provide wireless coverage to terrestrial radio terminals. There are many advantages of using aerial platforms to provide wireless coverage, including larger coverage in remote areas and better line-of-sight conditions, etc. Energy is a scarce resource for the AeBSs, hence the wise management of energy is quite beneficial for the aerial network. In this context, we study the means of reducing the total energy consumption by designing and implementing an energy efficient AeBSs as presented in this paper. Implementing the sleep mode in the Base Stations (BSs) has been proven to be a very good approach for improving the energy efficiency and we propose a novel strategy for further improving energy efficiency by considering ternary state transceivers for AeBSs. Using the three state model, we propose a Markov Decision Process (MDP) based algorithm, which intelligently switches among three states of the transceivers based on the offered traffic meanwhile maintaining a prescribed minimum channel rate per user. We define a reward function for the MDP, which helps us to get an optimal policy for selecting a particular mode for the transceivers of the AeBS. Considering an AeBS with transceivers whose states are changeable, we perform simulations to analyse the performance of the algorithm. Our results show that, compared with the always active model, around 40% gain in the energy efficiency is achieved by using our proposed MDP algorithm together with the three-state transceivers model. We also show the energy-delay tradeoff in order to design an efficient AeBS.

With the gradual application of central bank digital currency(CBDC)in China,it brings new payment methods,but also potentially derives new money laundering *** typical application scenarios of CBDC are considered,namely the anonymous transaction scenario and real-name transaction ***,starting from the interaction network of transactional groups,the degree distribution,density,and modularity of normal and money laundering transactions in two transaction scenarios are compared and analyzed,so as to clarify the characteristics and paths of money laundering ***,according to the two typical application scenarios,different transaction datasets are selected,and different models are used to train the models on the recognition of money laundering behaviors in the two *** them,in the anonymous transaction scenario,the graph convolutional neural network is used to identify the spatial structure,the recurrent neural network is fused to obtain the dynamic pattern,and the model ChebNet-GRU is *** constructed ChebNet-GRU model has the best effect in the recognition of money laundering behavior,with a precision of 94.3%,a recall of 59.5%,an F1 score of 72.9%,and a microaverage F1 score of 97.1%.While in the real-name transaction scenario,the traditional machine learning method is far better than the deep learning method,and the micro-average F1 score of the random forest and XGBoost models both reach 99.9%,which can effectively identify money laundering in currency transactions.

In this paper,we summarise the outcome of a set of experiments aimed at classifying cattle behaviour based on sensor *** animal carried sensors generating time series accelerometer data placed on a collar on the neck at the back of the head,on a halter positioned at the side of the head behind the mouth,or on the ear using a *** purpose of the study was to determine how sensor data from different placement can classify a range of typical cattle *** were collected and animal behaviours(grazing,standing or ruminating)were observed over a common time *** features were computed from the sensor data and machine learning algorithms were trained to classify each *** accuracies were computed on separate independent test *** analysis based on behaviour classification experiments revealed that different sensor placement can achieve good classification accuracy if the feature space(representing motion patterns)between the training and test animal is *** paper will discuss these analyses in detail and can act as a guide for future studies.
