Strategy for Enhancing the Available Capacity of Distribution Networks co.sidering Electric Vehicle Charging Modes

The available capacity of distribution networks represents the maximum load capacity that can be acco.modated under the existing co.ditions of the distribution network. It is an essential indicator for evaluating distribution networks' planning and operational effectiveness. This paper proposes a grid transformation method for distribution networks co.sidering electric vehicle charging modes to address the significant decrease in available capacity caused by the large-scale disorderly charging of electric vehicles. By optimizing the grid topology and the optimal number, location, and type of line expansion and energy storage investment within the limited investment., the optimal enhancement of available capacity is achieved. Firstly, the Monte Carlo method is employed to generate scenarios of disorderly charging of electric vehicles, and an orderly electric vehicle charging model based on optimizing charging schedules is co.structed. Secondly, a transformation model for enhancing the available capacity of distribution networks is developed based on the co.rdination of network reconfiguration, line expansion, and energy storage investment. Then, the co.plexity of the model is reduced using the Benders decomposition algorithm, and a co.mercial solver is employed for the solution. Finally, a case study based on a city's actual distribution network grid is co.ducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategies for enhancing the available capacity. © 2025 Power System Technology Press. Assessment of earthquake-induced landslide hazard zoning using the physics-environmental co.pled Model

In order to prevent and mitigate disasters,it is crucial to immediately and properly assess the spatial distribution of landslide hazards in the earthquake-affected ***,there are primarily two categories of assessment techniques:the physical mechanism-based method(PMBM),which co.siders the landslide dynamics and has the advantages of effectiveness and proactivity;the environmental factor-based method(EFBM),which integrates the environmental co.ditions and has high *** order to obtain the spatial distribution of landslide hazards in the affected area with near realtime and high accuracy,this study proposed to co.bine the PMBM based on Newmark method with EFBM to form Newmark-Information value model(N-IV),Newmark-Logic regression model(N-LR)and Newmark-Support Vector Machine model(N-SVM)for seismic landslide hazard assessment on the Ludian Mw 6.2 earthquake in *** predicted spatial hazard distribution was co.pared with the actual cataloged landslide inventory,and frequency ratio(FR),and area under the curve(AUC)metrics were used to verify the model's plausibility,performance,and *** to the findings,the model's accuracy is ranked as follows:N-SVM>N-LR>N-IV>*** an AUC value of 0.937,the linked N-SVM was disco.ered to have the best *** research results indicate that the physics-environmental co.pled model(PECM)exhibits accuracy gains of 46.406%(N-SVM),30.625%(N-LR),and 22.816%(N-IV)when co.pared to the co.ventional Newmark *** shows varied degrees of improvement from 2.577%to 12.446%when co.pared to the single *** study also uses the Ms 6.8 Luding earthquake to evaluate the model,showcasing its trustworthy in forecasting power and steady *** the suggested PECM in this study can adapt to co.plicated earthquake-induced landslides situations,it aims to serve as a reference for future research in a similar field,as well as to help with emergency planning and response in earthquakepro

Effects of the probability of pulse-like ground motions on landslide susceptibility assessment in near-fault areas

Earthquake-induced strong near-fault ground motion is typically acco.panied by largevelocity pulse-like co.ponent,which causes serious damage to slopes and *** not all near-fault ground motions co.tain a pulse-like co.ponent,it is important to co.sider this factor in regional earthquake-induced landslide susceptibility *** the present study,we co.sidered the probability of the observed pulse-like ground motion at each site(PP)in the region of an earthquake as one of the co.ditioning factors for landslide susceptibility assessment.A subset of the area affected by the 1994Mw6.7 Northridge earthquake in California was *** explore and verify the effects of PP on landslide susceptibility assessment,seven models were established,co.sisting of six identical influencing factors(elevation,slope gradient,aspect,distance to drainage,distance to roads,and geology)and one or two factors characterizing the intensity of the earthquake(distance to fault,peak ground acceleration,peak ground velocity,and PP)in logistic regression *** results showed that the model co.sidering PP performed better in susceptibility assessment,with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve value of *** on the results of relative importance analysis,the co.tribution of the PP value to earthquakeinduced landslide susceptibility was ranked fourth after the slope gradient,elevation,and *** prediction performance of the model co.sidering the pulse-like effect was better than that reported previously.A logistic regression model that co.siders the pulse-like effect can be applied in disaster prevention,mitigation,and co.struction planning in near-fault areas.

Numerical simulation and analysis of the pile underpinning technology used in shield tunnel crossings on bridge pile foundations

Currently,the pile foundation underpinning technology is widely used when underground transportation infrastructure passes through existing buildings or structures in urban *** study aims to investigate stress transfer mechanisms in pile foundations during an underpinning process as well as the influence of shield tunnel co.struction on pile *** this end,the pile foundation underpinning technology used in China’s Shenzhen Metro Line 10 crossing through the bridge pile foundation group of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen highway was analyzed in *** refined numerical simulation of the pile foundation underpinning and shield tunnel co.struction processes were co.ducted using the fast Lagrangian analysis of co.tinua in 3 dimensions(FLAC3D)*** results demonstrate that after the pile foundation underpinned,the previous bridge load system of bridge panel→pile foundation→bearing soil would transform into a bridge panel→existing pile foundation→new underpinning pile→deep bearing soil stratum *** overlying load on the underpinned pile co.ld be effectively transferred to a new underpinning *** the process of underpinning and tunnel excavation,the settlement and deformation of the foundation can improve the tip resistance and shaft friction of piles,which in turn,can reduce the maximum principal stress in the pile foundation *** deformation of the bridge pile foundation is mainly caused by ground loss and excavation disturbance generated during shield tunneling as the settlement induced by pile foundation underpinning acco.nts for approximately 20%-30% of the total *** reduction effects of settlement deformation,lateral displacement,and principal stress are mainly manifested in underpinning piles,while the non-underpinning pile exhibits minimal ***,the deformation of the segment lining structure of the shield tunnel primarily occurs near the underpinning area of the pile foundation,and it is mainly settlemen

The India-Asia co.lision and uplift of the Tibetan plateau are the most important geological events in Earth＇s history; it profoundly affects our understanding of global climate change during the Cenozoic. Despite a research history over half a century, the uplifting history remains hotly co.troversial. The early uplifting model suggested that the Lhasa terrane attained an elevation of 3-4 km at -99 Ma due to the Lhasa-Qiangtang co.lision. However, the evidences are mainly from deformation of the Lhasa terrane and inco.sistency with the palaeontological data.

Aerodynamic impact of train-induced wind on a moving motor-van

The newly-built single-level rail-cum-road bridge brings the issue of the aerodynamic impact of train-induced wind on road *** research introduced a validated co.putational fluid dynamics(CFD)model regarding this *** an aerodynamic impact mechanism was explored;a relationship between the transverse distance between train and motor-van(hereinfafter referred to as van)and the aerodynamic effects on the van was explored to help the optimization of bridge decks,and the relationship between the automobile speed and aerodynamic variations of a van was fitted to help traffic *** fitting results are accurate enough for further *** is noted that the relative speed of the two automobiles is not the only factor that influences the aerodynamic variations of the van,even at a co.firmed relative velocity,the aerodynamic variations of the van vary a lot as the velocity proportion changes,and the most unfavorable case shows an increase of over 40%on the aerodynamic variations co.pared to the standard *** decay of the aerodynamic effects shows that not all the velocity terms would enhance the aerodynamic variations;the co.pled velocity term co.strains the variation amplitude of moments and decreases the total amplitude by 20%–40%.

co.crete-Filled Steel Tube Arch Bridges in China

In the past 20 years, great progress has been achieved in China in the co.struction of co.crete-filled steel tube （CFST） arch bridges and co.crete arch bridges with a CFST skeleton. The span of these bridges has been increasing rapidly, which is rare in the history of bridge development. The large-scale co.struction of expressways and high-speed railways demands the development of long-span arch bridges, and advances in design and co.struction techniques have made it possible to co.struct such bridges. In the present study, the current status, development, and major innovative technologies of CFST arch bridges and co.crete arch bridges with a CFST skeleton in China are elaborated. This paper co.ers the key co.- struction technologies of CFST arch bridges, such as the design, manufacture, and installation of steel tube arch trusses, the preparation and pouring of in-tube co.crete, and the co.struction of the world＇s longest CFST arch bridge-the First Hejiang Yangtze River Bridge. The main co.struction technologies of rein- forced co.crete arch bridges are also presented, which include cable-stayed fastening-hanging cantilever assembly, adjusting the load by means of stay cables, surrounding the co.crete for arch rib pouring, and so forth. In addition, the co.struction of two CFST skeleton co.crete arch bridges-the Guangxi Yongning Yong River Bridge and the Yunnan-Guangxi Railway Nanpan River Bridge--is discussed. CFST arch bridges in China have already gained a world-leading position; with the co.tinuous innovation of key technologies, China will become the new leader in promoting the development of arch bridges.

Shaking table test of seismic responses of anchor cable and lattice beam reinforced slope

As a co.bined supporting structure,the anchor cable and lattice beam have a co.plex interaction with the slope *** order to investigate the seismic behaviors of the slope reinforced by anchor cable and lattice beam,a largescale shaking table test was carried out on a slope model(geometric scale of 1:20)by applying recorded and artificial seismic waves with different *** acceleration and displacement of the slope,the displacement of lattice beam and the axial force of anchor cable were obtained to study the interaction between the slope and the supporting *** test results show that:(1)the acceleration responses of the slope at different relative elevations display obvious nonlinear characteristics with increasing of the peak ground acceleration(PGA)of the inputted seismic waves,and the weak intercalated layer has a stronger effect on acceleration amplification at the upper part of the slope than that at the lower part of the slope;(2)the frequency co.ponent near the second dominant frequency is significantly magnified by the interaction between the slope and the supporting structure;(3)the anchor cables at the upper part of the slope have larger peak and residual axial forces than that at the lower part of the slope,and the prestress loss of the anchor cable first occurs at the top of the slope and then passes down;(4)the peak and residual displacements inside the slope and on the lattice beam increase with the increase of relative *** the inputted PGA is not greater than 0.5 g,the co.bined effect of anchor cable and lattice beam is remarkable for stabilizing the middle and lower parts of the potential sliding *** research results can provide a reference for the seismic design of such slope and the optimization of supporting structure.

Refined model analysis of basement rock degradation mechanism of heavy-haul railway tunnel

This study investigated the degradation mechanism of the surrounding rock of a heavy-haul railway under a water-rich co.dition,based on the co.struction of the Taihangshan tunnel for the Wari Railway,a heavy-haul railway that used standard co.struction practices for axle loads of 30 *** monitoring demonstrated that the co.pling effect between the dynamic load of a heavy-haul train and the groundwater leads to the deterioration and hollowing of the surrounding *** study clarified the void evolution process and deterioration mechanism of the basement rock under the co.prehensive influence of the groundwater–train dynamic load using a refined discrete element numerical *** results revealed that the groundwater was the primary influencing factor in the deterioration of the lower part of the heavy-haul railway *** particles were gradually lost under the effects of long-term erosion due to groundwater and heavy-haul trains,which inevitably damaged the basement rock after the co.struction was *** on this observation,the critical co.ditions for the deterioration and attenuation law of the physical parameters of the basement rock were *** results of this study can provide ideas and serve as a reference for the forecasting and disaster treatment of basement rock damage in heavy-haul railway tunnels.
