Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate the frequency of countries represented in the TOP20 long-distance elite runners ranking during 1997-2020,taking into account the countries’Human development Index(HdI),and to verify if the Matthew effect can be observed regarding countries’representativeness in the raking alongside the *** The sample comprised 1852 professional runner athletes,ranked in the Senior World TOP20 half-marathon(403 female and 487 male)and marathon(480 female and 482 male)races,between the years *** about the countries’HdI was included,and categorized as“low HdI”,“medium HdI”,“high HdI”,and“very-high HdI”.Athletes were categorized according to their ranking positions(1st-3rd;4th-10th;>10th),and the number of athletes per country/year was summed and categorized as“total number of athletes 1997-2000”;“total number of athletes 2001-2010”;and“total number of athletes 2011-2020”.The Chi-square test and Spearman correlation were used to verify potential associations and relationships between *** Most of the athletes were from countries with medium HdI,followed by low HdI and very-high ***-square test results showed significant differences among females(χ^(2)=15.52;P=0.017)and males(χ^(2)=9.03;P=0.014),in half-marathon and marathon,*** significant association was verified between HdI and the total number of athletes,but the association was found for the number of athletes alongside the years(1997-2000 to 2001-2010:r=0.60;P2001-2010 to-2011-2020:r=0.29;Pdium HdI,followed by those with low HdI and very-high *** Matthew effect was observed,but a generalization of the results should not be done.

Purpose： This study was to investigate the association between ulnar variance（UV） and biological and training characteristics, handgrip, and wrist pain in a group of 23 Portuguese skeletally immature male gymnasts（aged 11.2 2.5 years）.Methods： Left and right UV was obtained using Hafner＇s procedure and skeletal age was determined by the TannereWhitehouse 3-method. A negative mean value for UV measures was observed（ 2.4 to 3.6 mm） without significant differences with increasing age-category（ p=0.09 to p=0.48）. Significant low correlations were observed between some UV parameters and stature, fat percentage, years of training, and left handgrip ***： Ten gymnasts reported wrist pain with gradual onset and UV values were very similar between painless and painful ***： The findings of this study do not directly support the thesis that gymnastics training and biological variables or wrist pain are associated with UV.

Supernumerary robotic arms(SuperLimb) are a new type of wearable robot that works closely with humans as a third hand to augment human operation capability. Accurate conveyance of wearers' intentions, allocation of roles, and humancentered interaction considerations are the key points in the process of human–SuperLimb collaboration. This paper proposes a human-centered intention-guided leader–follower controller that relies on the dynamic modeling of SuperLimb with application to load-carrying scenarios. The proposed leader–follower controller takes the human as the leader and the SuperLimb as the follower, achieving effective information communication, autonomous coordination, and good force compliance between SuperLimb, humans, and the environment under human safety assurance. First, the human–SuperLimb dynamic system is modeled to achieve force interaction with the environment and wearer. Second, to achieve the precise intention extraction of humans, pose data from five visual odometry sensors are fused to capture the human state, the generalized position, the velocity of hands, and the surface electromyography signals from two myoelectric bracelets sensors are processed to recognize the natural hand gestures during load-carrying scenarios by a designed Swin transformer network. Then, based on the real-time distance detection between human and mechanical limbs, the security assurance and force-compliant interaction of the human–SuperLimb system are realized. Finally, the human hand muscle intention recognition, human–robot safety strategy verification,and comparative load-carrying experiments with and without the proposed method are conducted on the SuperLimb *** showed that the task parameters are well estimated to produce more reasonable planning trajectories, and SuperLimb could well understand the wearer's intentions to switch different SuperLimb actions. The thermomechanical fatigue behaviour of different high temperature alloys has been investigated and is under investigation respectively. The creep-fatigue behaviour of heat resistant steels was investigated by long-term service-type strain cycling tests simulating thermomechanical fatigue (TMF-) loading conditions at the heated surface of e.g. turbine rotors. Single-stage as well as three-stage cycles leads to similar results at the application of the damage accumulation rule. Life prediction which simulates typical combinations of cold starts, warm starts and hot starts has been established successfully for isothermal service-type loading and will be exceeded for thermomechanical loading. Long-term thermomechanical fatigue testing of Thermal Barrier Coating systems show typical delamination damage. An advanced TMF cruciform testing system enables complex multiaxial loading.

With increasing age,humans become more susceptible to the onset of neurodegenerative diseases(Nds),and among these,Alzheimer's disease(Ad)is the most frequent(Nicoletti et al.,2023).Nds are primarily characterized by neuronal loss and atrophy,but also by lesions involving the cerebral and/or cardiovascular system(Balistreri,2021).Lesions such as macroinfa rcts,microinfarcts,hemorrhages,white matter lesions,atherosclerosis,and arteriolosclerosis have also been significantly described in the preclinical stages of cognitive impairment characterizing Nds(Mariani et al.,2007).
