Recently, a novel kind of quantum key distribution called the round-robin differential phase-shift （RRDPS） protocol was proposed, which bounds the amount of leakage without monitoring signal disturbance. The protocol can be implemented by a weak coherent source. The security of this protocol with a simply characterized source has been proved. The application of a common phase shift can improve the secret key rate of the protocol. In practice, the randomized phase is discrete and the secret key rate is deviated from the continuous case. In this study, we analyze security of the RRDPS protocol with discrete-phase-randomized coherent state source and bound the secret key rate. We fix the length of each packet at 32 and 64, then simulate the secret key rates of the RRDPS protocol with discrete-phase randomization and continuous-phase randomization. Our simulation results show that the performance of the discrete-phase randomization case is close to the continuous counterpart with only a small number of discrete phases. The research is practically valuable for experimental implementation.

We develop a quantum key distribution (QKD) system with fast active optical path length compensation. A rapid and reliable active optical path length compensation scheme is proposed and applied to a plug-and-play QKD system. The system monitors changes in key rates and controls it is own operation automatically. The system achieves its optimal performance within three seconds of operation, which includes a sifted key rate of 5.5 kbps and a quantum bit error rate of less than 2% after an abrupt temperature variation along the 25 km quantum channel. The system also operates well over a 24 h period while completing more than 60 active optical path length compensations.

Using the concept of non-degenerate Bell inequality, we show that quantum entanglement, the critical resource for various quantum information processing tasks, can be quantified for any unknown quantum state in a semi-device-independent manner, where the quantification is based on the experimentally obtained probability distributions and prior knowledge of the quantum dimension only. Specifically, as an application of our approach to multi-level systems, we experimentally quantify the entanglement of formation and the entanglement of distillation for qutrit-qutrit quantum systems. In addition, to demonstrate our approach for multi-partite systems, we further quantify the geometric measure of entanglement of three-qubit quantum systems. Our results supply a general way to reliably quantify entanglement in multi-level and multi-partite systems, thus paving the way to characterize many-body quantum systems by quantifying the involved entanglement.

Symbolic transfer entropy(STE)is employed to quantify the dominant direction of information flow between two chaotic-semiconductor-laser time *** information flow in unidirectionally and bidirectionally coupled systems was analyzed *** results show that the dependence relationship can be revealed if there exists any coupling between two chaotic semiconductor *** importantly,in both unsynchronized and good synchronization regimes,the STE can be used to quantify the direction of information flow between the lasers,although the former case leads to a better *** results thus establish STE as an effective tool for quantifying the direction of information flow between chaotic-laser-based systems.

In this review, we briefly review recent works on hybrid （nano） and diamond nitrogen-vacancy （NV） centers. We also review opto-mechanical systems that contain both mechanical oscillators two different types of mechanical oscillators. The first one is a clamped mechanical oscillator, such as a cantilever, with a fixed frequency. The second one is an optically trapped nano-diamond with a built-in nitrogen-vacancy center. By coupling mechanical resonators with electron spins, we can use the spins to control the motion of mechanical oscillators. For the first setup, we discuss two different coupling mechanisms, which are magnetic coupling and strain induced coupling. We summarize their applications such as cooling the mechanical oscillator, generating entanglements between NV centers, squeezing spin ensembles etc. For the second setup, we discuss how to generate quantum superposition states with magnetic coupling, and realize matter wave interferometer. We will also review its applications as ultra-sensitive mass spectrometer. Finally, we discuss new coupling mechanisms and applications of the field.

Semiconductors, a significant type of material in the information era, are becoming more and more powerful in the field of quantum information. In recent decades, semiconductor quantum computation was investigated thoroughly across the world and developed with a dramatically fast speed. The research varied from initialization, control and readout of qubits, to the architecture of fault-tolerant quantum ***, we first introduce the basic ideas for quantum computing, and then discuss the developments of single-and two-qubit gate control in semiconductors. Up to now, the qubit initialization, control and readout can be realized with relatively high fidelity and a programmable two-qubit quantum processor has even been demonstrated. However, to further improve the qubit quality and scale it up, there are still some challenges to resolve such as the improvement of the readout method, material development and scalable designs. We discuss these issues and introduce the forefronts of progress. Finally, considering the positive trend of the research on semiconductor quantum devices and recent theoretical work on the applications of quantum computation, we anticipate that semiconductor quantum computation may develop fast and will have a huge impact on our lives in the near future.

As a special factorization category of finite groups, logarithmic signature(LS) is used as the main component of cryptographic keys that operate within secret key cryptosystems such as PGM and public key cryptosystems like M ST1, M ST2 and M ST3. An LS with the shortest length is called a minimal logarithmic signature(MLS) that constitutes of the smallest sized blocks and offers the lowest complexity, and is therefore desirable for cryptographic constructions. However, the existence of MLSs for finite groups should be firstly taken into an account. The MLS conjecture states that every finite simple group has an MLS. If it holds, then by the consequence of Jordan-H¨older Theorem, every finite group would have an MLS. In fact, many cryptographers and mathematicians are keen for solving this problem. Some effective work has already been done in search of MLSs for finite groups. Recently, we have made some progress towards searching a minimal length key for MST cryptosystems and presented a theoretical proof of MLS conjecture.

To investigate highway petrol station replenishment in initiative distribution mode,this paper develops a mixed-integer linear programming(MILP)model with minimal operational costs that includes loading costs,unloading costs,transport costs and the costs caused by unpunctual *** on discrete representation,the working day is divided into equal time intervals,and the truck distribution process is decomposed into a pair of tasks including driving,standby,rest,loading and *** truck must execute one task during a single interval,and the currently executing task is closely related to the preceding and subsequent *** accounting for predictive time-varying sales at petrol stations,real-time road congestion and a series of operational constraints,the proposed model produces the optimal truck dispatch,namely,a detailed task assignment for all trucks during each time *** model is tested on a real-world case of a replenishment system comprising eight highway petrol stations,one depot,one garage and eight trucks to demonstrate its applicability and accuracy.
