High-resolution collinear fast-ion-beam-laser spectroscopy has been applied to investigate the optical isotope shifts for transition 4f^(4)5d^(6)K_(11/2)-(24445)°_(11/2) of NdⅡ.From the measured optical isotope shifts,changes in mean-square nuclear charge radiiδ(r^(2))(fm^(2))among five even-even neodymium isotopes have been deduced:(142,144)0.282,(144,146)0.242,(146,148)0.274,(148,150)*** results are in good agreement with experimental data from electronic x-ray spectroscopy and combined optical and x-ray spectroscopy.

Urologists perform the majority of vasectomies in the United States;however,family medicine physicians(FMps)perform up to 35%.We hypothesized that d iff ere nces exist in practice patterns and outcomes between urologists and *** nts who underwent a vasectomy from 2010 to 2016 were *** semen analysis(pVSA)practices were compared between urologists and FMps,before and after release of the 2012 AUA vasectomy *** 2010 to 2016,FMps performed 1435(35.1%)of all *** follow-up rates were similar between the two groups(63.4%vs 64.8%,p=0.18).of the patients with follow-up,the median number of pVSAs obtained was 1(range 1-6)in both groups(p=0.22).Following the release of guidelines,fewer urologists obtained multiple pVSAs(69.8%vs 28.9%pre-and post-2012,pps had a significant but lesser change in the use of multiple pVSAs(47.5%vs 38.4%,poth groups made appropriate changes in the timing of the first pVSA,but FMps continued to obtain pVSAs before 8 weeks(15.0%vs 6.5%,pps had a higher rate of positive results in pVSAs obtained after 8 weeks,the earliest recommended by the AUA guidelines(4.1%vs 1.3%,ppVSA utilization between FMps and urologists were identified and were impacted by the release of AUA guidelines in *** summary,FMps obtained multiple pVSAs more frequently and continued to obtain pVSAs prior to the 8-week recommendation,suggesting less penetration of AUA guidelines to nonurology ***,FMps had more positive results on pVSAs obtained within the recommended window.

This paper evaluates the applicability of the sediment transport methods developed by Engelund and Hansen, Ackers and White, Yang et al., and van Rijn, together with the Wuhan methods developed in China, to the Yellow River, which has highly concentrated and fine-grained sediment. The sediment data includes over 1000 observations from the Yellow River, 32 sets of data from a canal, and 266 sets of data from laboratory flumes. The best predictions were obtained by the Yang 1996 method, the Wuhan method, and the modified Wuhan method by Wu and Long, while reasonably good predictions were also provided by the van Rijn 2004 method. The Engelund and Hansen, the Ackers and White, and the van Rijn 1984 methods in their original forms are not applicable to the Yellow River. The predicted results for total load concentrations were as good as for bed-material concentrations, even though the total load includes a large portion of wash load.

香蕉树植株高大,一般采用间接方法确定耗水量,但所得结果受土壤、大气和农艺措施等因素的影响较大.本文于2005年11月15日—12月5日在温室内采用热扩散法(即Granier法)测定香蕉树的茎液流,并与用数字天平(称重法)测定的香蕉树蒸腾速率进行对比试验.结果表明,Granier法测定的日茎液流量与称重法测定的日蒸腾量相差4%.Granier法测定的茎液流速率一般滞后于称重法确定的蒸腾速率1h左右.当日蒸腾量小于0.05L.m-2(活性叶面积)时,Granier方法不能测定茎液流量.Granier传感器一般在安装2～3d后即可正常工作,同时在多株植株上安装Granier传感器取其平均流速值计算蒸腾量可以明显减小测量误差.

Long-term outcome of patients with chronic pancreatitis treated with micronutrient antioxidant therapy

BACKGRoUND： Micronutrient antioxidant therapy did not relieve pain in a European randomized trial of patients with chronic pancreatitis without malnutrition. However, intervention was undertaken only for 6 months leaving unanswered the question of whether long-term antioxidant therapy may modulate chronic pancreatitis. The aim of this study is to assess the outcome of long-term use of micronutrient antioxidant therapy in patients with chronic ***： This is a single center clinical cohort report of patients with chronic pancreatitis prescribed micronutrient antioxidant therapy and followed for up to 10 years. Data were collected on demographic detail, clinic pain assessment, insulin requirements, interventions and ***： A group of 30 patients with a diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis constitute the study population. Median age at time of diagnosis was 40 years（range 14-66）; 19（63%） were male and the median duration of symptoms was 2 years（range 0-18）. Alcohol was the dominant cause in 22（73%） patients and 16（53%） patients were Cambridge stage 1. Twenty-four（80%） patients had pain at presentation. During antioxidant treatment of 4 years（range 1-10）, pain decreased but the proportion with abdominal pain compared to those who were pain-free remained constant（p=0.16; two-way ANoVA with Bonferroni correction）. There was a significant increase in requirement for insulin（p=0.028） with time together with use of both endoscopic and surgical ***： This is the first study to report long-term disease-specific outcome in patients with chronic pancreatitis prescribed micronutrient antioxidant therapy. There appears to be no effect of intervention on outcome.

＜正＞In the past, research on hindered settling mainly focused on sand or mud. In this research an attempt is made to develop a measuring technique to examine the hindered settling of sand-mud mixtures. It was found that a combination of techniques was needed to determine the settling velocities and the concentrations of the sand and mud fraction separately. After reviewing several techniques a combination of a non-intrusive X-ray, an ASTM （acoustic sand transport meter） and a video camera seemed to perform best. The results of the experiments shall at a later stage be used in a numerical simulation in order to test a proposed eauation for the hindered settling of sand-mud mixtures.

Reversible double water in oil in water(W/o/W)emulsions were developed to contain subsurface hydrocarbon spills during their remediation using surfactant *** emulsions were prepared by emulsifying CaCl2 solutions in canola oil,and subsequently by emulsifying the W/o emulsions in aqueous sodium alginate *** formation of double emulsions was confirmed with confocal and optical *** double emulsions reversed and gelled when mixed with the surfactants sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)and cocamidopropyl betaine(CpB).Gels can act as’emulsion locks’to prevent spreading of the hydrocarbon plume from the areas treated with surfactant flushing,as shown in sand column *** rheology was used to quantify the viscoelastic moduli increase(gelation)upon mixing the double emulsion with SDS and *** was more effective than CpB in gelling the double *** and SDS could adsorb at the interface between water and model hydrocarbons(toluene and motor oil),lowering the interfacial tension and rigidifying the interface(as shown with a Langmuir trough).Bottle tests and optical microscopy showed that SDS and CpB produced W/o and o/W emulsions,with either toluene or motor oil and *** emulsification of motor oil and toluene in water with SDS and CpB facilitated their flow through sand columns and their *** recovery from sand columns was quantitated using Gas-Chromatography MassSpectroscopy(GC-MS).The data show that SDS and CpB can be used both for surfactant flushing and to trigger the gelation of’emulsion locks’.Ethanol also gelled the emulsions at100 mL/L.
