Straw pellets are widely promoted and expected to be a cleaner alternative fuel to unprocessed crop residues and rawcoal in rural ***,the effectiveness of these dissemination programs is not well *** this field study,emission characteristics of burning strawpellets,rawcoal,and unprocessed corn cobs in heating stoveswere investigated in a pilot village in Northeast *** measurements covering the whole combustion cycle(ignition,flaming,and smoldering phases)shows the promotion of improved heating stoves and straw pellets could reduce pollutant emissions(e.g.,SO_(2) and CO),but increase NO_(X) and PM_(2.5) emissions compared to the initial stove-fuel use pattern in the studied *** is a significant variance in emission characteristics between different combustion *** normalized emission concentrations of the different stove-fuel combinations were higher than the limits in the Chinese national standard for heating stoves,indicating that the standard is not met for real-world *** consumption was lower than official *** surveys were conducted to identify the barriers to fuel and stove access associated with existing promotion strategies,management,and *** pilot program was of the typical“subsidy-and-policy-dependence”pattern and was unlikely to be implemented on a large *** innovation,operational optimization,and proper policies considering the local socioeconomic factors are needed to sustain the promotion of biomass straw pellets and stoves.

Macrophages are among the most abundant immune cells in the tumor microenvironment, where they are known as tumor-associated macrophages （TAMs）. Substantial evidence indicates that TAMs generally play pro＇tumoral roles in the primary as well as metastatic sites （Noy and Pollard, 2014）. TAMs are also known to interfere with several tumor therapeutic modalities, such as chemotherapy, irradiation, and immunotherapy. In general, depletion of M2-1ike TAMs or reprogramming them into M l-like pheno- type enhances the efficacy of these therapies （Rolny et al., 2011; de Palma and Lewis, 2013; Germano et al., 2013）. Chemotherapy has been shown to increase macrophage infiltration in human breast cancer tis- sues and the ratio of CD68/CD8 expression predicts the patient response to the treatment （DeNardo et al., 2011）. TAMs have been known to promote breast cancer progression and increase therapy resistance through mechanisms such as the enhancement of angiogenesis, tumor cell proliferation and invasive- ness by producing growth factors such as vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF）, epidermal growth factor （EGF） and FGF2 （Jiang, 2014）.

Optimization of fracturing perforation is of great importance to the commingling gas production in coal measure *** this paper,a 3 D lattice algorithm hydr.ulic fracturing simulator was employed to study the effects of perforation position and length on hydr.ulic fracture propagation in coal measures of the Lin-Xing block,*** on field data,three lithologic combinations are simulated:1)a thick section of coal seam sandwiched by sandstones;2)a thin coal seam layer overlay by gas-bearing tight sandstone;3)two coal seams separated by a thin layer of *** simulation shows that perforation position and length in multi-layer reservoirs play a major role in hydr.ulic fracture *** maximum stimulated volume requires consideration of lithologic sequence,coal seam thickness,stress states,and rock *** improve the combined gas production in coal measure strata,it is possible to simultaneously stimulate multiple coal seams or adjacent gas-bearing *** these cases,perforation location and length also significantly impact fracture propagation,and therefore should be carefully *** simulation results using 3 D lattice algorithm are qualitatively consistent with laboratory physical simulation.3 D lattice models can be used to effectively simulate the fracture propagation through layers in coal measure *** numerical results provide guidance for perforation optimization in the hydr.ulic fracturing of coal measure strata.

Photolithography is among the key phases in chip *** is also among the most expensive with manufacturing equipment valued at the hundr.ds of millions of *** is paramount that the process is ran efficiently,guaranteeing high resource utilization and low product cycle times.A key element in the operation of a photolithography system is the effective management of the reticles that are responsible for the imprinting of the circuit path on the *** reticles means determining which are appropriate to mount on the very expensive scanners as a function of the product types being released to the *** the importance of the problem,several heuristic policies have been developed in the industry practice in an attempt to guarantee that the expensive tools are never ***,such policies have difficulties reacting to unforeseen events(e.g.,unplanned failures,unavailability of reticles).On the other hand,the technological advance of the semiconductor industry in sensing at system and process level should be harnessed to improve on these"expert policies".In this manuscript,we develop a system for the real time reticle management that not only is able to retrieve information from the real system,but also is able to embed commonly used policies to improve upon *** develop a new digital twin for the photolithography process that efficiently and accurately predicts the system performance,thus allowing our system to make predictions for future behaviors as a function of possible *** results demonstrate the validity of the developed model,and the feasibility of the overall approach demonstrating a statistically significant improvement of performance as compared to the current policy.

Intensity Modulated Proton Therapy for Re-Irradiation of Bulky Loco-Regional Recurrent Breast cancer: A case Report

Patients with recurrent breast cancer to chest wall, who had previous irradiation, are difficult to manage and have limited options. Several reports described the use of photon therapy, hyperthermia, and brachytherapy. This is a case report of a 72-year-old female with Stage IIIA (pT3N1M0) invasive ductal carcinoma of the right breast status post modified radical mastectomy. The patient developed recurrence to the chest wall and one internal mammary lymph node one year later. She received 3-D conformal photon radiation therapy for this recurrence. Two years later, she had progression of the recurrence at the right chest wall and axillary and internal mammary lymph nodes. She was treated with intensity modulated proton therapy (IMPT) for a total of 6600 cGy in 33 fractions. However, four months later, she was found to have biopsy-proven isolated metastatic disease at her right bicep, which was again treated with IMPT for a dose of 6000 cGy in 20 fractions. Proton beam therapy was used in this case to spare dose to the brachial plexus, heart and lung while optimally irradiating the recurrent tumors. At last follow up, the patient is alive and has been disease free for 39 months. This report describes the technique and dosimetry for this unique case, which also reviewed recent series of re-irradiation using proton beam.

“Atropisomeric” dr.gs: Basic Concept and Example of Application to dr.g Development

Many therapeutic dr.gs are racemates;i.e. they are chiral molecules consisting of “left”- and “right-handed” enantiomers (stereoisomers that are mirror images of each other, and are non-superimposable). In some cases, both enantiomers of the dr.g contribute to some extent (or equally) to the therapeutic effect;in other cases they contribute not at all. The same is true for the adverse effects of racemate dr.gs: the adverse effects of a racemate dr.g can be greater-than, less-than, or equal to one or the other enantiomer. An unusual situation arises when a dr.g consists of “atropisomers”, stereoisomers arising because of hindered rotation about a single chemical bond. We summarize the concept of atropisomerism, and give examples.
