Optical parametric amplification(OPA)represents a powerful solution to achieve broadband amplification in wavelength ranges beyond the scope of conventional gain media,for generating high-power optical pulses,optical microcombs,entangled photon pairs and a wide range of other ***,we demonstrate optical parametric amplifiers based on silicon nitride(Si3N4)waveguides integrated with two-dimensional(2D)layered graphene oxide(GO)*** achieve precise control over the thickness,length,and position of the GO films using a transfer-free,layer-by-layer coating method combined with accurate window opening in the chip cladding using *** OPA measurements with a pulsed pump for the fabricated devices with different GO film thicknesses and lengths show a maximum parametric gain of~24.0 dB,representing a~12.2 dB improvement relative to the device without *** perform a theoretical analysis of the device performance,achieving good agreement with experiment and showing that there is substantial room for further *** work represents the first demonstration of integrating 2D materials on chips to enhance the OPA performance,providing a new way of achieving high performance photonic integrated OPA by incorporating 2D materials.

MUc1 is an antigen that is overexpressed on the cell surface of many human breast adenocarcinomas and other types of cancer. The cancer immunity cycle has seven steps, starting with release of cancer cell antigen and following with cancer antigen presentation. Priming, activation and trafficking of T cells to tumors are the next steps and the infiltration of T cells into tumors, the recognition of cancer cells by T cells and killing of cancer cells are the final steps. We have tested a synthetic peptide for the MUc1 antigen and generated dendritic cells (Dcs) that were pulsed with the specific peptide. Mature Dcs were used to activate naive T cells to differentiate into antigen-specific cTLs. cTLs were tested for proliferation, cytokine release (IFNγ), activation markers and cytotoxicity against human breast adenocarcinoma cell lines. The cytotoxic effect of those cTLs was higher against McF7 human cell line than against MDA-MB-231 human cell line.

Linking the Gawler craton and Mount Isa Province through hydrothermal systems in the Peake and Denison Domain,northeastern Gawler craton

Tectonic reconstructions of Proterozoic Australia commonly place the Peake and Denison Domain of the northeastern Gawler craton at the interface between the North and South Australian cratons prior to the reconfiguration of Australia’s main tectonic components in the ***,this reconstruction is largely based on palaeomagnetic data as the geological correlations between these regions are currently limited,particularly during the *** early Mesoproterozoic period is significant as it corresponds to major IOcG mineralization in the eastern Gawler craton between 1600 Ma and 1575 Ma,and IOcG mineralization in the Mount Isa Province largely between 1550 Ma and 1490 ***,determining the relationship of the Peake and Denison Domain to the Gawler craton and Mount Isa Province during this period is essential to evaluating mineral prospectivity in the northeastern Gawler *** U–Pb LA-IcP-MS geochronology on zircon and titanite improves our understanding of the tectonothermal and hydrothermal history the Peake and Denison Domain during the latePalaeoproterozoic,early-Mesoproterozoic and the cambrian–Ordovician *** formed within largely calc-silicate alteration assemblages indicates the Peake and Denison Domain has a protracted history of hydrothermal activity,recording events at c.1565 Ma,1530–1515 Ma,c.1500 Ma,c.1465 Ma and c.490 *** highly calcic nature of the c.1565–1500 Ma alteration in the Peake and Denison Domain shares strong similarities in age and character to the regional calcic-sodic alteration recorded in the Mount Isa *** suggest the two regions were influenced by similar hydrothermal systems during the early Mesoproterozoic,supporting reconstruction models that place the Peake and Denison Domain near the Mount Isa Province during the *** highlights the prospectivity of the Peake and Denison Domain for Isan-style IOcG mineralization,but requires consideration of the post-

Plasma-polymerized pericyte patches improve healing of murine wounds through increased angiogenesis and reduced inflammation

Pericytes have the potential to be developed as a cell therapy for the treatment of wounds;however,the efficacy of any cell therapy relies on the successful delivery of intact and functioning ***,the effect of delivering pericytes on wound repair was assessed alongside the development of a surface-functionalized pericyte *** polymerization(PP)was used to functionalize the surface of silicone patches with heptylamine(HA)or acrylic acid(AA)*** pericytes were subsequently delivered to murine excisional wounds by intradermal injection or using the pericyte-laden patches and the comparative effects on wound healing,inflammation and revascularization *** AA surface provided the superior transfer of the cells to de-epidermized *** murine wounds treated either with pericytes injected directly into the wound or with the pericyte-laden AA patches showed improved healing with decreased neutrophil infiltration and reduced numbers of macrophages in the *** delivery also enhanced angiogenesis through a mechanism independent of VEGF ***,when delivered to wounds,improved healing responses by dampening inflammation and promoting *** of pericytes using PP-AA-functionalized patches was equally as effective as direct injection of pericytes into ***-functionalized dressings may therefore be a clinically relevant approach for the treatment of wounds.

Microfluidics-assisted multiplexed biomarker detection for in situ mapping of immune cells in tumor sections

Because of the close interaction between tumors and the immune system,immunotherapies are nowadays considered as the most promising treatment against *** order to define the diagnosis and the subsequent therapy,crucial information about the immune cells at the tumor site is ***,different types or activation status of cells may be indicative for specific and personalized ***,we present a quantitative method to identify ten different immuno-markers in the same tumor cut section,thereby saving precious samples and enabling correlative analysis on several cell families and their activation status in a tumor microenvironment *** designed and fabricated a microfluidic chip with optimal thermomechanical and optical properties for fast delivery of reagents on tissue slides and for fully automatic imaging by integration with an optical *** multiplexing capability of the system is enabled by an optimized cyclic immunofluorescence protocol,with which we demonstrated quantitative sequential immunostaining of up to ten biomarkers on the same tissue ***,we developed high-quality image-processing algorithms to map each cell in the entire *** proofof-concept analyses,we identified coexpression and colocalization patterns of biomarkers to classify the immune cells and their activation *** to the quantitativeness and the automation of both the experimental and analytical methods,we believe that this multiplexing approach will meet the increasing clinical need of personalized diagnostics and therapy in cancer pathology.

Effect of phosphatation and calcination on the environmental behaviour of sediments

Dredging operations produce considerable quantities of materials, to be managed and this opens an opportunity for valorization in civil engineering. However, the contamination of the dredged sediment has become a major problem to solve. The major contaminants are heavy metals and organic compounds This study focuses on the use of phosphoric acid(H3 PO4) to stabilize heavy metals from sediments an destroy organic matter by calcination at 650 °c with a goal of using sediments in roadworks. Severa studies have been conducted in this field. The stabilized materials obtained have been used in civ engineering. The main purpose of this work is to discuss the environmental behavior of marine sedimen treated by phosphatation and calcination. Two types of phosphoric acids were used. The p H dependenc leaching test has been used as the basic characterization to evaluate the effect of the type of phosphori acid on the metals behavior in a valorization scenario. The standard leaching test and the Toxicit characteristic Leaching Procedure(TcLP) were conducted as compliance tests. In regards of the obtaine results, the environmental assessment has also shown a reduction in the availability of targeted heav metals in alkaline environment whatever the type of acid used for treatment. This opens opportunitie for co-valorization.

clay Addition to sandy Soil Influence of clay Type and Size on Nutrient Availability in sandy Soils Amended with Residues Differing in c/N ratio

Addition of clay-rich subsoil to sandy soil results in heterogeneous soil with clay peds （2-mm） or finely ground （〈 2 mm） clay soil （FG）, which may affect the nutrient availability. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of clay soil particle size （FG or peds） and properties on nutrient availability and organic c binding in sandy soil after addition of residues with low （young kikuyu grass, KG） or high （faba bean, FB） c/N ratio. Two clay soils with high and low smectite percentage, clay and exchangeable Fe and A1 were added to a sandy soil at a rate of 20% （weight/weight） either as FG or peds. Over 45 d, available N and P as well as microbial biomass N and P concentrations and cumulative respiration were greater in soils with residues of KG than FB. For soils with KG residues, clay addition increased available N and initial microbial biomass c and N concentrations, but decreased cumulative respiration and P availability compared to sandy soil without clay. Differences in measured parameters between clay type and size were inconsistent and varied with time except the increase in total organic c in the 〈 53 μm fraction during the experiment, which was greater for soils with FG than with peds. We concluded that the high exchangeable Fe and A1 concentrations in the low-smectite clay soil can compensate a lower clay concentration and proportion of smectite with respect to binding of organic matter and nutrients.
