This review offers the first synthesis of the research on mixed-species groupings of arthropods and highlights the behavioral and evolutionary questions raised by such behavior.Mixed-species groups are commonly found in mammals and birds.Such groups are also observed in a large range of arthropod taxa independent of their level of sociality. Several examples are presented to highlight the mechanisms underlying such groupings, particularly the evidence for phylogenetie proximity between members that promotes cross-species recognition.The advantages offered by such aggregates are described and discussed.These advantages can be attributed to the increase in group size and could be identical to those of nonmixed groupings,but competition-cooperation dynamics might also be involved,and such effects may differ between homo-and heterospecific groups.We discuss three extreme cases of interspecific recognition that are likely involved in mixed-species groups as vectors for cross-species aggregation:tolerance behavior between two social species,one-way mechanism in which one species is attractive to others and two-way mechanism of mutual attraction.As shown in this review,the study of mixed-species groups offers biologists an interesting way to explore the frontiers of cooperation-competition, including the process of sympatric speciation.

The dried fruits of the plant Forsythia suspensa(Forsythia Fructus: Lianqiao in chinese) are used in many herbal preparations to treat various diseases or the associated symptoms. Forsythia extracts contain phenylethanoid glycosides(Ph Gs) such as the forsythosides(Fst A-to-P). The leading products, Fst-A,-B and-F(arenarioside), can be found also in >90 other plants inventoried here. The pharmacological properties of Fst are reviewed, with emphasis on their anticancer, antiviral, and antibacterial activities, which essentially derive from their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Fst-B functions as a potential binder of the repressor protein Kelch-like Ech-association protein 1(Keap 1), thus promoting the nuclear translocation of the transcription factor Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2) implicated in the subsequent activation of the production of antioxidant enzymes and repression of the oxidative stress. The regulation of the Nrf2/heme oxygenase-1 pathway is the central piece of the multifaceted mechanism of action of Fst-A/B. Their prominent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects support the use of these compounds in different inflammation-related diseases and conditions, from sepsis to neuroprotection and many other pathologies discussed here. In addition, these properties contribute to the antiviral action of the compounds. Fst-A/B displays activities against the influenza A virus and different Fst-containing traditional chinese medicinal(TcMs) have revealed beneficial effects to combat the current cOVID-19 pandemic. The mechanisms whereby Fst-A/B could inhibit viral multiplication are discussed. Ph Gs likely contribute to the anti-cOVID-19 activities reported with several TcM such as Shuang-huang-Lian oral liquid, Lianhua-Qingwen capsules, and others. This review highlights the pharmacological profile of Fst and illustrates health benefits associated with the use of Forsythia Fructus.

Tensile and hardness values for 7075-T651 aluminum alloy in the as welded and post weld heat treated conditions（solubilization and artificial aging-T6）,obtained using GMAW and modified indirect electric arc（MIEA）welding processes are presented.results showed that the base material along rolling direction exhibited a tensile strength of around 600 MPa and elongation of 11%.For the as welded condition,tensile strength was 260 MPa and elongation percent of 3%.This behavior was attributed to brittleness induced by the microstructural characteristics of the welded alloys,as well as high porosity.hardness profiles along the welds were obtained and different welded zones were identified.A soft zone（＊100 hV0.1） in the heat affected zone for GMAW and MIEA was observed,the minimum hardness corresponding to weld metal（＊85 and ＊96 hV0.1for GMAW and MIEA,respectively）.The high dilution between filler and base metal during welding in MIEA allows to the Zn and cu to flow from the base metal into the weld metal,inducing hardening by solution and subsequent artificial aging.In this regard,the hardness of the weld metal for MIEA increases by 56%,while the tensile strength reaches a value close to 400 MPa.For GMAW,non-favorable hardening effect was observed for the weld metal after solution and artificial aging.

Objectives:We aim to describe the efficacy,safety,and characteristics of the Amplatzer Vascular Plug(AVP)II and IV“off-label”use for multiple cardiovascular occlusions in children under 10 years.Methods:Observational retrospective multicenter(2007–2020,6 centers)review of paediatric procedures using AVP II or IV.results:A total of 125 children(49.6%aged≤1 year,147 lesions)underwent 136 successive procedures(success rate:98.5%)using 169 devices(109 AVP IV,60 AVP II).The mean device diameter was 7.7±3.2 mm(4–20 mm).The median AVP size to vessel diameter ratio was 1.3(0–2).The median age and weight at implantation were 1.0 year(0.01–9.98)and 8.4 kg(1–69).Procedures were heterogeneous(55 patent ductus arteriosus(PDA),28 collaterals,18 sequestrations,22 arteriovenous/veinovenous/coronary fistulas,6 vertical veins,6 conduits,5 ventricular septal defects,7 miscellaneous).Day 1 and 6-month occlusion rates were respectively 94.8%and 98.5%.Major adverse events(MAE)occurred in 5.2%of cases(no procedure-related deaths),and more frequently in weight≤5 kg(p=0.01),younger patients(p=0.03)during PDA closure(p=0.02)of tubular types(p=0.02)using larger devices(p=0.03)and AVP II(p=0.003).Independent predictor of MAE risk was a higher AVP diameter to patient weight ratio(Odds-ratio:2.33,95%confidence interval 1.31–4.13,p=0.004,optimal cut off:1.45).conclusions:Both AVPs are safe and effective for percutaneous occlusions in children under 10.Such devices represent an alternative“off label”use for well selected paediatric patients.

目的木果楝是一种红树林树木,其在多个亚洲国家作为药用植物被用于治疗多种疾病。已经从该植物中分离出许多具有生物活性的天然产物,特别是几类柠檬苦素类似物,包括18种木果楝亭(Xyl-A至r),均具有柠檬苦素类似物中常见的呋喃-δ-内酯核心。基于与柠檬苦素类似物黄柏酮和葛杜宁的结构相似性,我们假设木果楝亭可以靶向结合糖原合成酶激酶-3β(GSK-3β),该激酶是治疗神经退行性病变、病毒感染和癌症的主要靶点。方法通过分子对接技术研究18种木果楝亭与GSK-3β的结合,并与两种已知的参照物GSK-3βATP竞争性抑制剂LY2090314和Ar-A014418进行比较。对于与GSK-3β结合的每种化合物,计算经验相互作用能(ΔE),并与靶向这种酶的已知GSK-3β抑制剂和柠檬苦素样三萜类获得的ΔE进行比较。结果五种化合物Xyl-A、-c、-J、-N和-O被确定为潜在的GSK-3β结合剂,其计算的ΔE相当于使用最佳参照分子ArA014418计算出的ΔE。最佳配体是Xyl-c,已知它具有显著的抗癌特性。Xyl-c与GSK-3β的ATP结合袋结合将呋喃-δ-内酯单位定位在结合位点空腔的深处。其他带有中心吡啶环或紧密多环结构的木果楝亭衍生物不太适合与GSK-3β结合。本研究同时讨论了结构绑定关系。结论GSK-3β可能有助于木果楝提取物发挥抗癌作用。本研究为鉴定其他含呋喃-δ-内酯的柠檬苦素类似物作为GSK-3β调节剂奠定了基础。

Influence of soil saturation on the free field response of liquefiable soils

The present paper presents analysis of the influence of the soil saturation on the free-field response of liquefiable soils.Analyses are conducted using a finite element program developed for partially saturated soils subjected to cyclic loading.The performances of the proposed model are analysed by simulation of undrained triaxial tests with different water saturations.The finite element program is then used for the analysis of the influences of the soil saturation,density and position of the water table on the liquefaction of a soil layer subjected to cyclic loading.results show that the soil saturation significantly affects the liquefaction of partially saturated sandy layers.The decrease in the soil saturation results in a reduction of liquefaction risk.

hepatitis c virus (hcV) encodes a single polyprotein, which is processed by cellular and viral proteases to generate 10 polypeptides. The hcV genome also contains an overlapping +1 reading frame that may lead to the synthesis of an additional protein. until recently, studies of hcV have been hampered by the lack of a productive cell culture system. Since the identification of hcV genome approximately 17 years ago, structural, biochemical and biological information on hcV proteins has mainly been obtained with proteins produced by heterologous expression systems. In addition, some functional studies have also been confirmed with replicon systems or with retroviral particles pseudotyped with hcV envelope glycoproteins. The data that have accumulated on hcV proteins begin to provide a framework for understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in the major steps of hcV life cycle. Moreover, the knowledge accumulated on hcV proteins is also leading to the development of antiviral drugs among which some are showing promising results in early- phase clinical trials. This review summarizes the current knowledge on the functions and biochemical features of hcV proteins.

During the last decade, transient receptor potential （TrP） channels emerge as key proteins in central mechanisms of the carcinogenesis such as cell proliferation, apoptosis and migration. Initial studies showed that expression profile of some TrP channels, notably TrP melastatin 8 （TrPM8）, TrP vanilloid 6 （TrPV6）,TrP canonical （TrPc6） and TrPV2, is changing during the development and the progression of prostate cancer towards the hormone-refractory stages. The link between the change in expression levels and the functional role of these channels in prostate cancer is step by step being elucidated. These recent advances are here described and discussed.
