Bioactive thermal spray coatings produced via high-velocity oxygen fuel spray(HVOF)from hydroxyapatite(HAp)and bioactive glasses(BG)have the potential to be employed on temporary implants due to the ability of both HAp and BG to dissolve and promote osseointegration,considering that both phases have different reaction and dissolution rates under in-vitro *** the present work,75%***-25%wt.S53P4 bioactive glass powders were HVOF-sprayed to obtain HAp/S53P4 BG composite coatings on a bioresorbable AZ31 *** study is focused on exploring the effect of the stand-off distance and fuel/oxygen ratio variation as HVOF parameters to obtain stable structural coatings and to establish their effect on the phases and microstructure produced in those *** characterization techniques,such as scanning electron microscopy,X-ray diffraction,and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,were employed to characterize relevant structural and microstructural properties of the composite *** results showed that thermal gradients during coating deposition must be managed to avoid delamination due to the high temperature achieved(max 550℃)and the differences in coefficients of thermal *** was also found that both spraying distance and oxygen/fuel ratio allowed to keep the hydroxyapatite as the main phase in the *** addition,in-vitro electrochemical studies were performed on the obtained HAp/S53P4 BG composite coatings and compared against the uncoated AZ31 *** results showed a significant decrease in hydrogen evolution(at least 98%)when the bioactive coating was applied on the Mg alloy during evaluation in simulated body fluid(SBF).

Due to a complex geological and biotic history,the Isthmus of Tehuantepec(IT),has been long recognized as a driver for the evolutionary divergence of numerous lowland and highland *** distributed in the lowlands of the American continent,the White-Tipped Dove(Leptotila verreauxi)is a polytypic species with 13 recognized *** of these have been recorded in Mexico,and the distribution of three abuts at the IT,suggesting a contact *** estimate phylogenetic patterns,divergence times and genetic differentiation,we examined two mt DNA(ND2 and cOI)and one n DNA(β-fibint 7)*** also used correlative ecological niche models(ENM)to assess whether ecological differences across the IT may have acted as a biogeographical *** estimated paleodistributions during the Middle Holocene,Last Glacial Maximum and Last Interglacial,to evaluate the influence of climate changes on the distribution and demographic *** results showed genetically distinct lineages that diverged approximately 2.5 million years *** and ecological factors may have played a dual role in promoting differentiation,but also in the formation of a secondary contact zone in the southern *** ecological niche comparisons indicated that the ecological niche of sympatric lineages at the IT are not identical,suggesting niches divergence;in addition,environmental niche models across the region indicated no abrupt biogeographic barriers,but the presence of regions with low *** results suggest that genetic differentiation originated by a vicariant event probably related to environmental factors,favored the evolution of different ecological ***,the absence of a biogeographic barrier but the presence of less suitable areas in the contact regions,suggest that secondary contact zones may be also maintained by climatic factors for the eastern group,but also by biotic interactions for the western group.

In this review,the possibilities of photochemical and electrochemical water splitting(WS)using porphyrins,phthalocyanines,related macrocycles,and their metal complexes are *** efforts are being carried out in order to develop novel and cheap methods for water decomposition to generate inexhaustible greener energy sources(molecular hydrogen)instead of oil and *** processes of WS in heterogeneous and homogeneous media require novel photo-and electrocatalysts,in particular those on macrocycle basis.A high WS efficiency has been observed for porphyrins and phthalocyanines,showing their suitability both for HER and OER processes are available using these relative compounds for WS *** can be used in photocatalytic and electrocatalytic WS processes both in their free forms or as metal porphyrins/porphyrinates,mainly loaded on various inorganic materials,such as Au NPs,c_(3)N_(4),GaP,KTaO_(3),GaP,and so on,as part of porphyrin-containing polymers or on electrode surface as modifying coatings,being sometimes better than commercial catalysts,such as Pt/*** H2 evolution can be considerably depended on the shape of porphyrin particles;in particular,porphyrin nanowires can yield up to 20 times more H2 than its *** certain cases,both HER and OER can be driven in the same electrolyte using metal *** capacity of metal porphyrins to generate ROS(in particular,singlet oxygen 1O_(2))under ultrasonic treatment is known and can be successfully used for H_(2)O_(2) and O_(2) *** can be used in similar processes in free form or as composites with inorganic or organic counterparts,being immobilized on nanocarbons,metal oxides and salts,or simply dissolved in water acting in a homogeneous *** additional use of ultrasound can lead to better results due to the synergistic effect of the sonochemical treatment and ***-organic frameworks are also applied for WS purposes and are mainly based

We present a comprehensive catalog with an updated database of the fossil record of Diplopoda in the *** data was collected from descriptions and reports published from 1854 to the *** also include new records from Mexican amber(Upper Oligocene-Lower Miocene),counting 83 unknown fossil inclusions,with the first records of the orders Polyxenida,Platydesmida,and Julida,as well as the families Sphaeriodesmidae and Trichopolydesmidae within *** to our results,Diplopoda counts 413 records featuring 299 distinct taxa ranging from the Middle Silurian to the Upper Pleistocene,representing three subclasses,two subterclasses,six superorders,25 orders,15 superfamilies,55 families,93 genera,and 161 fossil *** date,no fossils of the order Siphonocryptida have been *** fossil record extends over three geological eras:the Paleozoic,with 161 taxa,including 97 species;the Mesozoic,with 53 taxa and 22 species;and the cenozoic,with 85 taxa and 42 *** referred material shows different forms of fossil *** comprises 123 impressions,99 compressions,26 ichnites,predominantly from Paleozoic and Mesozoic sediments,and 165 amber inclusions from late Mesozoic and cenozoic ***,this catalog allows us to estimate the size and taxonomic composition of Diplopoda in the fossil record worldwide.

corrosion testing of X52 and X80 steels immersed in stimulated emulsions using a real petroleum sample

The aim of this study is to evaluate the internal corrosion process on X52 and X80 steels/real petroleum interfaces containing condensed hydrocarbon plus oilfield-produced water,which were subjected to stimulated emulsions using 50/50 vol ratio mixtures at 45℃,different hydrodynamic conditions,1 h,and 24 h.A washing process by using deionized water was proposed to simulate and identify the corrosiveness of the hydrocarbon phase after 24 h of exposure *** characterization by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and the monitoring of the polarization curves indicated that X80 steel/oilfield-produced water interfaces were more susceptible to corrosion than X52 steel exposed to oilfield-produced *** combined speed rotation of 600 rpm using a magnetic stirrer+600 rpm using a rotating disk electrode decreased the corrosion rate on X52 *** stimulated emulsions made of hydrocarbon+oilfield-produced water and hydrocarbon+deionized water at 24 h increased the corrosion rate on X80 steel(0.34 mm/year and 0.43 mm/year,respectively),promoting the formation of erosion and pitting *** types of corrosion depended mainly on the physicochemical properties of the hydrocarbon,oilfield-produced water,exposure times,and hydrodynamic systems in which the hydrocarbon was studied.

This work reports the growth and characterization of p-AlInN layers doped with Mg by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy(PAMBE).AlInN was grown with an Al molar fraction of 0.80 by metal-modulated epitaxy(MME)with a thickness of 180 nm on Si(111)substrates using AlN as buffer *** substrate temperatures were used to enhance the incorporation of indium atoms into the alloy without clustering,as confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD).cathodoluminescence measurements revealed ultraviolet(UV)range ***,Hall effect measurements indicated a maximum hole mobility of 146 cm^(2)/(V∙s),corresponding to a free hole concentration of 1.23×10^(19)cm^(−3).The samples were analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)estimating the alloy composition and extracting the Fermi level by valence band ***-doped AlInN layers were studied for use as the electron-blocking layer(EBL)in LED *** varied the Al composition in the EBL from 0.84 to 0.96 molar fraction to assess its theoretical effects on electroluminescence,carrier concentration,and electric field,using SILVAcO *** results from this study highlight the importance and capability of producing high-quality Mg-doped p-AlInN layers through *** simulations suggest that an Al content of 0.86 is optimal for achieving desired outcomes in electroluminescence,carrier concentration,and electric field.

Seamless morphing trailing edge flaps for UAS-S45 using high-fidelity aerodynamic optimization

The seamless trailing edge morphing flap is investigated using a high-fidelity steady-state aerodynamic shape optimization to determine its optimum configuration for different flight conditions,including climb,cruise,and gliding descent.A comparative study is also conducted between a wing equipped with morphing flap and a wing with conventional hinged *** optimization is performed by specifying a certain objective function and the flight performance goal for each flight *** the climb rate,extending the flight range and endurance in cruise,and decreasing the descend rate,are the flight performance goals covered in this *** optimum configurations were found for the morphing wing by determining the optimum morphing flap deflection for each flight condition,based on its objective function,each of which performed better than that of the baseline *** was shown that by using optimum configuration for the morphing wing in climb condition,the required power could be reduced by up to 3.8%and climb rate increases by 6.13%.The comparative study also revealed that the morphing wing enhances aerodynamic efficiency by up to 17.8%and extends the laminar ***,the optimum configuration for the gliding descent brought about a 43%reduction in the descent rate.

A texture-modified dessert with high nutritional value designed for people with dysphagia:effect of refrigeration and frozen storage
